The next video: "Porsche and I have reached a conclusion regarding the numerous malfunctions regarding my green Macan..." :P
xxxdan82xxx Haha can't wait!
Great video Nick, especially when you describe "screwing and holding a camera"!!! 😂😂😂
This is why I am forever single
POV the way to go
3:20
Astonishing! Remembering how i found nicks channel and listing to him list all of the electric gremlins of his 911, he dares to tinker with the electronics of his latest Porsche... astonishing...
“Buy it, don’t buy it - I don’t care” 😂😂
Thank you for your video. Because of your weird accent, I have reported you to the local police.
Your local police?
@@anonimushbosh Everyone's local Police. The weird accent is coming through all local computers via UA-cam.
Pro tip! Use headphones so your neighbors don't hear it and call the police on you.
Was about time somebody to do that 😂
Nick, they'll never let you forget your bouts with local law.
Don’t tell me leather wrapped vents and visors aren’t doing anything!
LMAO when you were rattling the features I was thinking I had those on my Audi A6 like 20 years ago and then you basically said the same thing.
Funny, exactly the same happend to me. Used to own a A4 2.5L Diesel 😃
Exactly
Sam here. It is useful to be bale to remotely open and close the windows, have had this for ages on Audis. I wonder if standard on the Q5?
Stephen MadOne Yes. I have a 2018 Q5 Premium Plus and it has all of these features. HOWEVER to roll up the windows you do have to be touching a door handle (for safety)
Brandon Wright interesting, in Europe you can always open/close the windows via the key. At least works on a B8.5 A4 and Mk7 Golf. So it’s probably a US-only issue
After all your electrical issues with your 911s, you are just tempting the gods with this move...
I just wanted to give it a try, unlikely to keep it installed.
next video: "I wonder why all my cars have electronic issues"
0:54 Porsche knows its customer base and understands that they don't care about money enough to actually change their buying habits.
Nick. How about making an hour long special. Cars, girlfriend, dogs, aircraft, house, offensive comments and any thing else that tickles your fancy. Better make it 90 minutes! Cant wait.
„…holding a camera and scr…DRILLING at the same time!“ Good save! 😁
Aah, Nick's sarcasm never gets old 😆
Hope you and the puppers doing well, Tui certainly seems to know where to lounge!
Pro tip: test it before you put all the trims back together 😂
I’m surprised that windows open + sunroof & closed wasn’t already available on the key fob “Why” On a more light hearted note... quite like the New t-shirt “I’m a mess” 🤣🤣🤪🤣 lol might have too break open the piggy bank 🐷 when it becomes available! 🤞
Brilliant Nick! Had no idea you were so practical - a wasted talent!🤣🤣
Looks-wise, I agree that folded mirrors don't look great. But I like the fact that they allow me to "see" that my car is locked. Practical.
Thats exactly why I have it too :)
“Got to give it a good, hard yank”. Nick Murray, 2020.
Good work there, Nick! Holding a camera and screwing at the same time. Now we finally know why did she call the cops! :)
Nice job Nick!
"look at me going". Genius at work.
*“Porsche owner holding camera and drilling at the same time”* - was this uploaded to the correct website?
Interesting add-on!
Oh Cool...Thanks Nick..Have a gr8 day, Mate!!
Boston’s are great dogs
Haha, today I learned that I have a warning triangle in my Tailgate :D Thank you Nick!
lol. me too..
Even on a VAG car that doesn't have it stock I thought it was easy to add with VCDS/OBD11 -- you learn something new everyday
450 bucks for neat features. Also later on a video about 5 figure diagnostic fee for untraceable electronic gremlins.
Skewing and holding the camera.
That's an art form, I bet...
The global opening of the windows is great. When I’m pushing my daughter back from a walk on the beach we test how far away the fob will work :)
I'm amazed the Windows-Down hold unlock feature isn't standard. My 2006 Saab 9-3 even has it.
Nick single handedly put Porsche mechanics to shame 😃
Yes indeed, BMW has also had these features... since the late 1980’s.
Nice video. Not sure if you upgraded your camera but great resolution! Finally, need to do some work on my center console & heard a "trim tool" would help. Is that what that blue thing is? Where do you get it?
One touch open and close (drop the windows, crack the sunroof) is standard on my UK spec 2017 Macan Turbo. Close the tailgate on the key or door button would be nice but not $400+ nice.
15 years ago, my old Volkswagen had those features for free...
I think all cars mirrors should fold when the car is locked, unfold when unlocked.
I added a module on a previous nissan to do this, however my 2013 ford fiesta has this as standard.
Should we call the cops because you had your dog in a hot car? LOL
Look into OBD11, its a software change for VAG products that allows you to have a bunch of extra customisation options that you wouldn't normally have.
Some of those features are literally in the menu on your car settings in the PCM.. surely the US spec has some of these right ?
Screwing and holding a camera? My girlfriend would kick my ass if I did that!!! You're the man! Rock on brother!!!
Nick has a lot of experience with holding a camera and drilling at the same time..... I replaced the trunk lock on my brothers GTI. Looks identical to how you got into the Macan
Haha damn, those are standard features on a Tiguan. Explains why I didn‘t understand what that video on instagram was about.
my car has the ability to open the boot by swinging a leg under the bottom of the car maybe you can add that for another $450
Hi Nick. Thanks for this video. I have a 991.1 C4S. Blue like your old one, except saphire. Perhaps you can let me know if aftermarket kits are available to add a rear camera, interior light design, and/or comfort key access (keyless entry). It has most other options, but I would appreciate adding those. Thanks in advance.
How many times did ole Nick mess with the wiring harnesses on those other two 911s me wonders....
Thankx for the video. Was wondering if adding this module could affect any warranty. Thankx in advance if you have a response. This module is something I have been looking for. Arthur
Nick, did you know your old Golf Mk6 had the all windows down feature.
I'm reporting you to your nosey neighbor because I can see Toohey becoming two-ey with this unsupervised dog-splitter gadget. 😎
Next Video: The electrical gremlins have returned, also fixing a rattle in the rear of my Macan!
Aren't all of these features available with some basic PIWIS coding? Pretty much all standard features which can be enabled by the dealer. Or is there a US market spec regulation preventing that?
Come on Nick, we all know you always use one hand only :)
I bet you spelt it wrong on the thumbnail so people would click to correct you.
You've got the white van, "free candy", luring techniques on lock down Nick.
Wow, I think Nick did the sound effects for Star Wars!
That's a fine quality camera. Sweet 60 frames.
My macan has those features already just pres and hold they key and windows close or open summer mode
Except for the electric tailgate, my dad's 2001 Ford Mondeo had all those features standard. I'm guessing it was a fifth of the price of Macan. But nice video, especially liked the enthusiastic speaker.
How i Know if my mirrors have that extra feature to close? I didn't buy that option, but maybe it has? So its factory feature? And now with the module works?
Just wait, you had Pudge in the car again...cops will be called.
Does it bypass any of the safety mechanisms as to how long will it try to close or open before recognizing an obstruction ? Just a thought .
Great video. I enjoy your videos & your Kiwi Cheek. I finally have purchased a 2019 Macan S. I noticed your mags on Kermit are the same as mine. These are very difficult to clean. Do you use a special technique or device to get in to the intricate places. They look great when clean, but very tricky to clean well, being fussy. Another Scottish Canadian Kiwi. TA.
I am able to close the trunk with the door button on my stock Macan. Just have to hold it rather than pressing once.
The Macan does the Mirror thing stock already
I can lower my boot (trunk) from the switch inside the car already? Standard car in the UK?
Porsche to Porsche owner, "You may want the oxygen module if you want to breath in the car, only $1k".
100% agree that many cars had these features years ago, known as Global Closing. Are you sure a Porsche service centre can’t just enable those features without you needing that module??
Does the Macan seriously not allow you to drop the windows if you hold the unlock button? We’ve had that functionality on our VWAG cars (Even a SEAT) for as long as I can remember! Great video as usual Nick.
I know right? Same I remember this in my year 2000 Audi.
On my Macan S (UK) all windows open when holding the unlock button on the key and the windows and sunroof closes when holding the lock button. MY2019
@@XroadMedia Probably already worked on Nick's too, but this is Nick remember!
@@NickMurray My father's Nissan Mazima had it in 1998. Clearly the only thing Nissan has ever had over Porsche.
Nick Murray I think that is a US car - Problem. I know from 911s in Germany that they do it.
Is this convenience tool available for a Cayman? All my BMWs from the 90' to date have this standard functionality built in.
Hi Nic, do you know how to change the colour of ambient lights in Macan 2020?
Exactly, my 2002 A4 did all windows with the key... 🤣
Hello! Strangely that you don’t have this functionality, I have it on my Swedish Macan S 2020 ?
My 2017 Macan GTS has all these functions as standard. I am confused as to why your car doesn’t have them.
My 2000 BMW 323 Sports Wagon did all of those things. I did like the ability to close all windows and the sunroof with the BMW key inserted into the key lock and turned. So closing them with the Macan fob would be nice. But not $450 worth of nice.
This is standard on Porsches in Australia. Both 718s we’ve had have done this and the Macan does also. Strange it isn’t standard in the USA. Maybe just a way to make some extra $$$
Hi, thanks for sharing. Does it void your warranty?
Is there a scan tool that could program these features (a la OBDEleven or Schwaben)?
Good going there, Nick. Screwing & holding a camera.
Is it just me or why does my 2020 GLC 43 have all these convenience features from factory? Now I know I made the right choice over the Macan ;-) thanks Nick!
Literally got all of this on a base model 2017 A3 😂
6:04 The unlock button opening all windows and sunroof just like my 2007 Acura TL
love your videos Nick. Just meant to say I can't believe Porsche charges $70000+ for a Macan and owners still need to buy aftermarket add-on to get the same feature from a 13 yr old Acura.
And my old 1999 Lexus RX!
You can code it in. Just like in a audi. With sowftware, no need for seperate module.
My 2008 Audi A3 had all of these features standard..
Does it come with the plastic spar tool?
"all these features were pretty-much standard on an Audi that I had ... twenty years ago".
If any Porsche salesperson tries to sell me that, I'll say exactly that - followed by a comment that they'll be throwing it in for free if they want my custom.
Only Nick would get dog hair on his sunroof blind lol
Thanks for sharing another informative and entertaining video. Enjoy the new functions. Big news! Just went on the US configurator. For 2021, the Standard Features list indicates BLACK dials for ALL 3 gauges on the Boxster S. YEAH!! Switched over to the Cayman S, and the Standard Features list still indicate the SILVER tach as standard. Strange..... Maybe Porsche is in the process of updating the configurator, and hasn't gotten around to updating the Cayman S. In any event, Porsche should scrap that silver tach on all models once and for all. It's horrible. I find it very difficult to see in certain lighting conditions.
Older VWs had most of these features. I have a 2013 VW Golf R that presumably shares the same ECU as an Audi A3. That car has roll up/down windows+sunroof by my R doesn't. I found a list of features/options my car has that were coded off from the factory. I had a friend in the VW community go through the list and coded in and out features to my car. Isn't there a coding tool for Porsche (same VAG family) that you can code these features on/off without buying that module?
I was able to code the windows to do that on my VW GTI with a blutooth dongle and no physical hardware.
Are these really not things that can be coded in via the OBD-II port?
They were all standard on your M3 as well 🤭🤫
You could actually shut the trunk before hand, you just have to hold the button down
Why is the frame at 2:27 scratched to hell and back on an area that should have been normally inaccessible?!
And there goes the warranty...
god he's a strong guy LOL
Congratulations! You now voided your warranty.
These comments
He can easily remove it before taking it to the dealer for any issues related to that device.
TheCobruhAlienat0r Not if he brakes down far from home with no tools and has to be towed to the dealer!
@@hpman911 What if, now stay with me now, he gets it towed home FIRST. Then the next day he gets it towed to the dealer? Big brain time.
TheCobruhAlienat0r Porsche will only recover you to home or the dealer not both. If you were to decide to go home you would then have to pay for the second trip. A total headache just for fitting a non approved Porsche part so hardly worth all the hassle in my opinion.
I am thinking of getting a Macan S vs Macan base model in Chalk with red interior. Not sure which model would suffice. It would be my first Porsche. The dealers here in Atlanta told me just to get the base model.. Wasn't sure if it was because that is what they mostly have on the lot or not. They said it's a Macan, they are all nice to drive. Once sales person said that a Macan S is nice to drive but I would burn a lot of gas needlessly. I am also looking leasing vs buying as well. I currently drive about 10-15k miles per year. What do you think? Thanks for posting I have watched your videos for a while now and they are helpful.
Have all open & all close without anything added...keyless entry and go. MY17
Does this work for other Porsche models?
Nick, I purchased the sport exhaust option on my 2018 Macan. But it can't be more than 3 DBs louder than stock. A very expensive purchase mistake. Do you know of any factory electronic tweak that's available to increase the loudness of the exhaust note in the sport mode?
3dB doubles the sound intensity. You'll probably need to de-cat or remove a silencer
Does Porsche not having coding available like Vag-com on Audi?
Yes it does you need to be nice to your dealer or find an independent with piwis
