I did not cry the first time I saw this, but I did this time. Maybe it's because I know the group a little bit better now.
I do know what it is like to miss my parents. I feel for Handong, I really do. She is doing what she loves as a career and she is working alongside people that she loves. But she has to be away from family in order to do that. I know it is REALLY hard. Luv her. OT7. :)

As a Malaysian with Chinese etnicity and formal Mandarin education for at least 11 years, the Mandarin pronunciation of Handong's mother sounded so standard, not like dialect-affected-localized-accented at all!

I am a Chinese student who is studying in the US. It has been 3 years since I came back to China to greet my family. When I heard what her mother said, I was also very touched as a person who left home far away.
I think Yoohyeon really understand Chinese or at least some phrases. She’s paying attention on the message.

I actually looked it up just yesterday; Wuhan Mandarin is actually a thing. It's like the difference between all of the United States' regions speaking English.
I am from the middle of the US and met somebody from the South who I literally could not understand. It really seemed like she was speaking gibberish from my perspective but it was actually English from the perspective of somebody else who was from closer to the same region that woman was from. I needed a translator. It sucked! Most US accents are not so extremely different as that but it really shocked me when it happened.
