So, now that HD is now back, I think I can finally write this out--the fact that HD did go back as she did is SO rare, and DC/Insomnia are SO blessed that it worked out this way. Think about it: when was the last time you heard about a member, whether Korean or foreigner, "go on hiatus" and ACTUALLY come back? Honestly, in recent memory, I think HD is the only one that did come back willingly and successfully. With Corona being an issue no less. Especially for foreign members. Take a look at WJSN's China line. Or Pristin's Kyulkyung (when they were active). Even worse, Cherry Bullet's foreign line quietly got let go while their company essentially lied to fans, and Gugudan, most tragic of them all, forced their Chinese member, Sally, to go back to China to join a reality show as they virtually disbanded. That's why when HD joined Youth With You, I was optimistic, but skeptical that she'd come back. If she didn't, I actually would've understood--she had been growing in popularity already. And, compared to early DC days, HD was definitely one of the lesser known members of the group by a wide margin, simply because she didn't/couldn't talk as much. Now, she had an audience, was well respected by the industry and started to get exposure in MV's, etc. I think it's an infinitely braver choice for HD to come back to DC. It's also proof positive that HD absolutely loves her members genuinely, and that they do think of themselves as a family. Again, I would've understood if HD stayed in China as she was truly also on a good path to find success (I mean, she's already coming out with a Chinese SOLO out of all things). But, she chose to come back. Her members always wanted her to come back, and never referred to themselves as six. Always seven. Always seven, indeed. Welcome back, truly, Han Dong. 😭😭😭😭😭 I became insomnia before her trip, like early 2018. So I KNOW how DC felt different without her voice her sarcasm her gentleness and caring self her aura. Handong gives DC a spark, she might be introverted but with the girls they all bring the best out of each other, so she opens up and gets more confident. Handong learned so much by her self, with another trainees and teachers, without the safe spot of Happyface. And the way the company let Handong still make reactions, talk openly to the girls and us, gave Handong lessons and trainment so she wont be far from the six for online concerts. Dreamcatcher is seven, they are one. No distance can break the bond, even the company supports and protects them all
