    Man, thank you for this video, I was so essitant about buying one, but after seeing that the DPC latency is gone with a great audio interface then I'm all good

    Ever thought of doing a time lapse day in the life of this? I'm not really a content creator but typically use Office and some productivity apps. I still like to have good quality tech so this laptop really interests me, particularly from the user experience doing office tasks.

      Exactly, it is not like this in other new xps content creating reviews. There is something wrong here.

    How would you compare this screen to the xps 17? (of last year since this year they’re apparently the same)

    Soul I had (still have but going soon) XPS 15 9500 but today I'm watching this video and typing this comment on the new XPS 17 9710! I loved the 9500 so much that I decided to go fully in and get the big boy with the big boy GPU! So far so good. Will be looking forward to your review to see what I should be enjoying on this machine and what I am missing LOL!

      @@TallyHoTech as much as I love OLED screens (I surrounded my self with them, trust me), I really can't fault this 4K IGZO panel. Are the blacks like a black hole that sucks your soul like an OLED? No. But still super nice, very bright and very colour accurate. Besides OLED's not an option on the 17 at the moment anyway and I wanted the 17 with the 3060. Let's see what this puppy can do. So far everything is so snappy and effortless, it feels like doing grocery shopping with a semi trailer for most tasks 😄

      @@acalkan Have you noticed overheating with that model?

    • @acalkan
      @acalkan 3 роки тому

      @@moises1514 I have done some testing and I'm happy to report that, the XPS 17 9710 cools very sufficiently just by itself. Here's how I concluded that after a comparison test between it and my old XPS 15 9500. First, I ran the 3D Mark TimeSpy benchmark on both the 9500 and 9710. The 9710 essentially doubled the 9500 in both CPU and GPU results. Then, using my laptop stand with a built-in fan that blows air from underneath, I repeated the benchmarks. The result for the 9500 went up by about 10-15%, which showed me that without external aid, the laptop couldn't cool itself sufficiently to perform at it's peak performance. I repeated the test on 9710 about 4 times, I got the same result (within margin of error) as the test without the external fan. This showed me that 9710 cools itself sufficiently without outside aid hence does not benefit from extra cooling. Obviously this is not an apples to apples comparison but a good one to show the cooling difference between an apple and an orange. Take it as you will :)
      Specs: XPS 15 9500 => i7 10750H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GTX 1650TI, FHD+ non-touch display
      XPS 17 9710 => i7 11800H, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 3060, UHD+ touch display

    This video is more focused on adobe not working...again instead of focusing on the laptop...

  • @Crispy_Bee
    @Crispy_Bee 3 роки тому +1

    I'd rather get the UHD+ screen. OLED isn't very stable with brightness/saturation,... causes eye strain and generally uses more power than the IPS panel.
    EDIT: Also yes, Adobe need to upgrade its stuff. Same goes for Photoshop, it's using the GPU but never to its full potential.

  • @testus86
    @testus86 3 роки тому

    ordered now the xps 15 with uhd+ display. lets see if it will be enough for me. also maybe ordering an asus rog m16 with rtx 3070 but it unfortunately does not have a touchscreen. But i need first to see the Dell. Maybe its enough for me. just got a PS5 so i do not need to game high end on a laptop. some games that are not on ps5 will also be ok on this i think with 3050ti. Want it rather for music production fl studio and video editing with davinci. xps 17 is nice but i think its way too big for me. Don't like if i have to strech my hands to reach the keyboard and having then the lasercut border of the device in my arms.

    if i plan to keep this for several years why would i take an OLED screen and risk getting burn in? There will be definately burn in due to taskbar!

    • @testus86
      @testus86 3 роки тому

      @@gcg8187 Depends on the usage. But sooner or later every OLED can face this while my LCD have seen this. Especially if you plan to use high brightness and some years usage i would be careful with OLED and static images.

    does an M1 MacBook Air with 7 GPU render that video in shorter time than the XPS 9510 did with the dedicated graphics? is there any comparison on this? thinking to order an XPS 9510 because of that OLED screen..., but if render times are not much better... Many thanks!

    Does this oled have issues like previous that when you change the brightness it will change the color calibration like colors are shifted and delta e value changes

    • @madcatter972
      @madcatter972 3 роки тому

      Also keen to know this. Love oled but the change in accuracy that happens with any adjustment to brightness is def an issue if accuracy is needed.

    Dude... Read the manual: "The Clarett 2Pre USB must be powered using the supplied AC adaptor (PSU). Connect the PSU to the rear panel socket and turn the unit on with the power switch"...
    That's for both the USB and Thunderbolt version!
