Oh man I am so hyped about this. I put some of my Xmas bonus money away to get the mega set and I am so excited. I am donating my old warpaints to our local high school as they have a mini painting club and I am sure they would appreciate them.
This was a fantastic and succinct video on how to apply the new paints to one of the trickiest techniques to master in mini painting. Thomas did an excellent job and is becoming my latest hobby hero!
Wow I've never tried nmm because of how difficult it is but I am going to give it a go with the new paints. I'm so glad you showed different colors as well this was really helpful!
Fantastic tutorial. Nmm is my nemesis. I love the effect, I just haven't gotten the tequnique down. Love that this is going to be easier to accomplish with the paint triads from the fanatic line. Stoked for their release into the wild.
Superb tutorial. Really can’t want to get my hands on the Warpaints Fanatic range get them tested out. So excited for the effects paints and plasma gun glow ❤
This gives me the courage to try NMM. Can't wait to get my hands on these paints. Also I'd love to see you send some paints to Swords and Brushes. He's been shilling for you guys as long as I've been watching him.
love this kinda stuff. you guys make it look so easy, i try stuff like this and half way through muck it up then just slather something on there and call it done
The demonstration was great, but for me this is just frustrating, as my NMM never turns out like that. In the end I am at the moment back to painting metals with metals. I keep that on the list as an inspiration for another time.
This technique is one ive been wanting to do thw most. I wouldn't have minded a in depth tutorial for each blade instead of overloading me with all the info at once, but still thanks😅
Do you think I could also use Glowing Inferno and Flickering Flame for the gold instead of Demigod Flame and Fiendish Yellow? I am missing those colors right now, and I'd really like to move on. Thanks! :)
I am looking forward to try the paints out, but in the showcase of the swords in die beginning of the video I noticed a fine but stark grainy microtexture on all of the three swords. Is this due to editing? I hope it is not the paint itself that does that :/
@@TheArmyPainter this year I have purchased the complete air set, the complete speed paint 2.0 set. Is there any way I can get a couple sample bottles of the fanatic paint?
Is it just me or did the swords all have a grainy texture to them? Pretty sure it's caused by the primer, rather than the Fanatics, as in the other demos they always applied very smoothly.
@@HobbyHeroChick or, "light and dark stripes are not metal" lol. this is the most warhammery nonsense i've ever seen. it doesn't look remotely like metal, it looks like what cartoons would think metal would look like if they were making fun of metal.
I don't even like NMM and I know that these look fine, also they are using multi-thousand dollar camera equipment to zoom in to show the level of detail that you'll never see without a jewelers monocle
NMM is always a 'trust the process' as it really doesn't take shape until the final highlight or two. Fantastic video!

That's a great and simple way to introduce painters to NMM in a simple fashion. Well done!
I never thought I would be this excited about paint...seriously cannot wait for this new line to come out!

I can’t wait to buy the full box set. Assuming I can afford it.

Very nice

You certainly can, it will just be more of an orangey gold
@@TheArmyPainter Thanks. And thanks for the tutorial! :)
Will there be a new airbrushthinner for the fanatic line?

It’s a tiny sword being filmed at 5K and enlarged. It’s just graininess in the photo. ;)
Is Thomas brushing excess paint off onto his thumb to them have less paint so the feathering starts by painting next to a still slightly wet area?
Yes!
Just do the black and white one 3 times and use speed paints to add your color.
That’s definitely a way you could do it as well!
Will u. E able to get a larger bottle of the medium?
Not at the time of release, but who knows what the future may hold
@@TheArmyPainter this year I have purchased the complete air set, the complete speed paint 2.0 set. Is there any way I can get a couple sample bottles of the fanatic paint?
It would be nice if you just created an nmm set.
That would be very cool! Who knows what box sets we may develop in the future? :)
when will these paints be released?
The first box sets go on pre-order on January 15th 🙂
@@TheArmyPainter that doesn't answer the question does it !
When will they be available to buy ?
Is it just me or did the swords all have a grainy texture to them? Pretty sure it's caused by the primer, rather than the Fanatics, as in the other demos they always applied very smoothly.
That’s just due to how zoomed in the 4k camera is on them, they’re not grainy in real life.
Those brush marks look atrocious I'm wondering if that's bad paint technique or if the paints dry with that texture?
These are super magnified for the video, so it's amplifying the texture
these need waaay more contrast
whys it look so dusty
That effect is just due to how zoomed in the 4k camera is on the swords
damn i just bought another batch of paint...
If I write a good enough rap , could I get a free set please ? 🙏
those look pretty terrible, not gonna lie. have y'all ever seen metal before?
You’re either a fanboi for some other brand, have no taste, or need to visit your eye doctor. 😂

You sound fun. I think they look great.
It’s a stylized approach to metal, as many of the painting techniques for miniatures are 🙂
