I’m an occupational therapy student and this is something you actually have to do with people who have difficulty doing small tasks or have a very bad memory, sometimes you go even more in depth with the steps too
Hey, so I don't leave personnal comments often but this video has been a huge help for me. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was a child and I've always struggled with it. Even though I take medication that helps me from blocking out the intrusive thoughts, there are still moments when they come back, especially at night. This is one of the reasons why I listen to ASMR: it helps me focus on something else than the repeating circle of thoughts inside my head. However, this video was extremely triggering, to the point were I almost had a panick attack when I first watched it 4 months ago. The constant repetition of words like "close"/"open", "empty"/"full" or twisting the lid back and forth felt like you were literally the voice inside my head. When I talked about it with my therapist she told me that it could be a useful practice tool to try and accept those intrusive thoughts. I didn't think much of it to be honest but I still tried, and this video ended up helping me a lot. I watched it and it's sequel almost everyday for a month, increasing the length of the extracts everyday until I could watch both back to back without freaking out. Now, when I get intrusives I think back to this to calm myself down, I think about what you say in those videos and how once you know how to do it it's just done, there's no need to go back over it and check if you did it correctly. So thank you Gibi for doing what you do and helping people sometimes without even realising it, I really owe you one :)

Hey, so I don't leave personnal comments often but this video has been a huge help for me. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was a child and I've always struggled with it. Even though I take medication that helps me from blocking out the intrusive thoughts, there are still moments when they come back, especially at night. This is one of the reasons why I listen to ASMR: it helps me focus on something else than the repeating circle of thoughts inside my head.
However, this video was extremely triggering, to the point were I almost had a panick attack when I first watched it 4 months ago. The constant repetition of words like "close"/"open", "empty"/"full" or twisting the lid back and forth felt like you were literally the voice inside my head. When I talked about it with my therapist she told me that it could be a useful practice tool to try and accept those intrusive thoughts. I didn't think much of it to be honest but I still tried, and this video ended up helping me a lot. I watched it and it's sequel almost everyday for a month, increasing the length of the extracts everyday until I could watch both back to back without freaking out. Now, when I get intrusives I think back to this to calm myself down, I think about what you say in those videos and how once you know how to do it it's just done, there's no need to go back over it and check if you did it correctly.
So thank you Gibi for doing what you do and helping people sometimes without even realising it, I really owe you one :)
