Is it worth or not - personal taste. If you like the amp and you are looking for synergy, than I think it make sense. AudioNote Lexus line is great match for Eversolo DMP-A6
Would be good if Hegel could put balance control into an amp then I might take a listen. We don’t all have equal hearing in both ears. Tone control is obviously asking too much I suppose. No surprise about the RCA cable being able to effect brightness. I thought everyone knew cables can make a difference. Though tone controls are what’s really needed but then the cable companies would not make their pile of cash.
Cables, as any other part of your audio system need to match, many people like to have bright and detailed presentation. I like to build magic- soundstage with life sound effects. Energy must be present, and unfortunately many systems sounds good but sound sticks to the speakers.
Got a used Hegel H90 and it does wonders with my Cornwalls. How different is the 390 vs the 190? I hope your video on that would come out soon! I need to hear what you think! Especially on the DDC too :P
I’m excited for the H390 video! All I can say for now is it’s a dream amp. Should answer your questions once it’s done. Have to finish Audiofest part 2, and half way done my DDC vid. A bit behind schedule. It’s been a crazy summer. Stay tuned. 🤟🍻
Biggest difference between H190 and H390 Increased Separation and dynamic with micro details. Soundscape becomes cleaner and more stages . Bass have more layers.
To me the Hegel room was disappointing. Those maggies are capable of so much more. I know hegel can drive maggies so its definitely not the amp, so it had to be the room.
I fear you drank the wrong potion, did I miss where the Kanto's were manufactured? I would assume NOT in Europe or NA at those prices, so just more CHIFI?? Heigel is all made in China too, unless that changed in the last few years... I just can not support an enemy of democracy.

My experience was good. Maybe it was more dialed in at that point. I'm normally not a fan of maggies but they sounded great to me. 🍻
