Waste gates usually rattle when you lift off throttle or on start up as seen in the clips. Not sure that your rattle matches the typical description of waste gate rattle.
Nothing terrible will happen immediately. You may throw error code such as 30FF which means the ecu isn't hitting boost targets. The engine will be down on power when in this 30FF/limp mode.
Doesnt this mean the turbos gonna go any day? I think thats the famous 335i rattle of death. Those turbos are like garentteed to go by 100,000 miles even completrly stock. There horrible same with the injectors and fuel pumps. But i know someone who got therr 335i up to 700 horsepower on stock transmission and and stock engine internals. Its actually true. There amazing to tune. You just dont wanna daily drive them
Ya if the rattle gets bad enough it’ll start throwing codes for not hitting boost target and go into limp mode. I ended up replacing my waste gate bushings and that fixed my rattle.
I agree with you. I recently purchased one and I’ve done already about 6k in engine work. Haven’t owned the car for 4 months. Every time I get in the car check engine light comes on. I will say it hasn’t lost one single race yet and my car is modified so it’s putting out around 450-500hp. Very fun cars to drive until you get to the car mechanic
I just bought a pre lci 335, it came with basically everything done high pressure fuel pump, water pump, belts, injectors ect and was all done right before I bought it. However I have the rattle. I’ve done the washer fix aswell as adjusting the rear turbo. However, I still can hear it and I think I’ll have to drop the subframe and replace with 17ts. it’s also my daily driver and it treats me great. Nothing bad to say about it all you have to do is keep up with maintenance.

My cls550 mercedes is making this noise fucking Benz the Damm turbos where you have to drop engine to change them I'll guess I'll be upgrading to the amg turbos mightiest well thanks the sound clips bro

I noticed the sound of the idle goes up and down but the rpm stays stable on the dash do you get a vibration?

Im hearing the same rattle but only 1-2k rpms. I think its coming from the exhaust. Will check it at the dealership

What model car is this. Is that an aftermarket cluster. My M sport package doesn’t have a m badge on cluster
This is a 2007 335i model car but it has an M3 cluster swapped in from the same generation car.
