- Ghulam Ali speaks about his career on a television show. He says, "I have been singing Ghazals from past 40 years. There is no change in Ghazals in those past years. I only notice the change I those people who don't understand Ghazals. They want to listen to and sing easy music and they have their separate audience.
Visaal was released on 28th November 2001 with Gulzar. It has eight Ghazals from which 4-5 was composed and sung by me and other Ghazals was composed by my student Rafiq Hussain. Visaal has serious Ghazals but only Ghazals. There are no filmy songs".

Ghulam Ali is unorthodox and experiments constantly with classical and folk music. There are amazing patterns when he plays the harmonium and also plays with rhythms. Has always been ahead of times and mixes ragas and sargam in his compositions. Excellent voice range and flexibility. Nobody has been able to imitate him. Great crowd puller and also a musician for the musicians. Frowned upon by purists but thoroughly enjoyable. Great singer and pleasant temperament.
Ghulam Ali has no parallel in the music world.The purist may frown but the deepest feelings expressed by Ghulam Ali 's voice is something purists can not replicate.The discerned listener can not left untouched by Ustad's voice.
Wonderful artist, Wonderful person. I feel sad that Shiv Sena had banned his programme in Mumbai. And thereafter he promised not to come to India any more. " Bandar kya Jane Adrak ka sward" Music has no boundaries. Even as on date there are millions of Hindus in India who listens to Ghulam Ali in You Tube. Can Shiv Sena stop us to listen to Ghulam Ali in You Tube ?

Sometimes i feel this Ghazal ( chupke chupke) is made for Ghulam Ali sb.. He takes u to the Days and Places where u were alone and u couldnt help it but to Shed Tears. Doesnt he ? Ghulam Ali sb has performed this Ghazal countless times and each time he gives it a new touch , brings in a new feel . he creates an environment or atmosphere in such a way that you cant resist going back to your sweet memories of the past. this is something unique in his singing ..

जो महारत गुलाम अली जी की गजलगोई में है वो कही और नही , गायकी में इतना घुमाव देकर फिर अपने सम पर आना बहुत ही उम्दा है इनका .....! गायकी में दृश्य दिखाना देने की महारत केवल गुलाम जी और रफी साहेब में थी ? हंगामा है क्यूं की तान पलटो की नोटेशन मुझे दस पंद्रह बार रोक रोक कर नोट करनी पड़ी ? इतनी तेज की एकदम नोट करना असम्भव था ?
