Hello, Brian. Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Ill be helming my own Tartan 37 back through Erie Canal in the next few years after refit. Your Hughes looks well cared for. These videos are what keep me going especially winter in the NE. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Ann!! She’s a little rough in spots but there’s still lots of projects to work on before I get too much into the cosmetics! Tartan is a nice boat! Was she a full on project boat? I’d highly recommend reading Buy, Outfit and Sail by Fatty Goodlander. Oh, and where will you be heading to through the Erie?
@@bdale2 Pretty close to a full, but still in sailing condition, Westerbeke good, new headsail, main ok, hull good w/o blisters. Sailed several "simple" boats on ICW (no refrigeration, atomic 4, Pearsons.. no electronic charts etc) So a whole new learning curve. Just purchased Comptons diesel book.. my resources are outdated. (Pardey's my favorite)I will check out Buy outfit & sail. Thanks for the tip. South to Bahamas..or maybe Ill go through Chicago on the Great Loop. Fair winds!
Will have to follow this channel to saw how it develops. Appreciate your efforts! Q, reason for the travel? No reason needed of course but I enjoy hearing the story.
Thanks for watching!! Hmmm tough question. I’ve always been a minimalist traveller, bouncing between resort areas and playing music to support my, first, skiing and snowboarding and then surfing addictions. Was introduced to sailing some 20 years ago in Costa Roca and immediately had thoughts of someday living on a sailboat and travelling the world. Finally took the big leap! Never planned on doing a UA-cam channel but I was getting lots of good footage and so many of my friends, family and music followers were hounding me to document this journey that I decided to put something together for them. Wasn’t really expecting to get much other interest.
What an amazing journey Brian ❤️ Stay safe and looking forward to following along. Nice to meet so many wonderful people along the way. They are blessed to experience you too 🎼🎶
Holy cow, Brian....what a great vid! No popcorn required to keep us watching your adventures. Then you started singing about a bag of chips and I began to have a hankering:). Please stay safe, stay warm and know the folks you left behind are behind you all the way.❤
Great job Brian! We’re so happy you are sharing your adventure and especially happy that we have been able to be a part of it! Can’t wait for the next episode! 🤗⛵️❤️⚓️
Amazing travels. People on these sailing channels seem to expect everyone to cross oceans and big seas. Your journey is just as interesting. Thanks for sharing. -Sput Damage Control Sailing
Hey Brian! Tubo just told me about your channel and I'm subscribed, and following on Insta as well. Best of luck, and stay safe! Let me know your planned route, and are you coming all the way down here to Costa Rica? See you at the Eco Resort?
Haha that was still in the Oswego canal and the only spot I did. I was hesitant but asked a couple of locals first and they said all the local kids swam there. No I’ll effects:)))
