Back in the day when I was coming up we had the Fruit & Vegetable Man that came thru the neighborhood weekly with his truck stocked! Franchise grocery stores fazed them out. So to revamp the grocers on wheels is well needed in our communities, and it works well with the local farmers!
Peddling is more economical, efficient and convenient than everyone converging at Costco, Walmart, Target in their SUVs . . . BUT peddling just isn't COOL --- though it is making a comeback of sorts in the form of online shopping and delivery.
I don't know if this is a long-term solution but at least they're doing something for the community. Maybe they could start opening up smaller grocery stores that could fill the void of the fresh fruits and vegetables in the area. The city could do their part to make it easier for them to actually set up storefronts in the city by giving tax breaks and incentives
Give these trucks security!!! Hire some veterans for security detail. Seriously. You need men who know how to shoot to protect these folks. Its just how it is.
This same process used to be around in the 90s - early 2000s in Miami they were called Vianderos in spanish which translates to friut and vegetable seller they stopped because food markets were getting bigger and bigger and they lost all their clients because people rather go to the grocery store nowadays.
Yeah, because of cultural shifts: driving a sports car, SUV, BMW to, and shopping at Walmart, Costco, Target became COOL; while buying from a peddler/vianderos was seen as childish, nerdy and wimpy.
Did you ever wonder why small grocery stores aren't popping up? Locally owned small businesses? In any other community the big corporate chains refusing to compete would be a dream. Wonder what's different here?
@@yapandasoftware Republicans literally enforce strict zoning laws bro. They wont allow anyone to build a shop or anything other than a house at a suburb
Not many wanting fruit and vegetables. They leave most of that behind when they loot.😝They need to pull up with a semi full of junk food. Then you'd get a crowd.🤣
👏🏽Great Job! This is so wonderful to see!

We had a fruit & veggie truck come around when I was a kid. Also, Arden milk delivered dairy.

Might work, Any time the community approaches to destroy and loot it he can just drive away.
Have they tried less crime?
People better not steal from them or else even they will leave
The only food desert in the state is in Upper Michigan. Detroit is NOT a food desert.
I think we need to get more into biking and electric bike because I'm sure that would make it easier to shop at supermarkets
What kind of electric vehicle is that?
Maybe a modified Tesla brand.
Foods Bagging IT UP
Ask yourself the reason as to why food deserts exist
Now Democrats will shut him down and require expensive licensing and make laws and restrictions where he can't operate. Good luck bub!
