Heatblur continues to impress with the F-14. Best module in the game by a long shot, and constantly getting better. I'd love to see a modernized 2002-era B model Tomcat with a Sparrow Hawk HUD, and the big MFD in the back seat. Excellent video, and really impressive work from HB.
Thanks for the great tutorial RedKite, the whole Lantirn thing looked too complicated to me, but now that you explained so clearly I should give it a go. It's awesome how many different options HB gave us to ensure functionality.
Hey Reflected, just out of context quickly wanna say, that I recently completed your 'Fear the Bones' campaign and I really enjoyed it! looking forward for more awesome content from you! Love from Hungary
Great tutorial. The Heatblur F-14 is so deeply developed I do not know when I will be able to fully explore all the features in there. Kudos to them also.
Very nice. HBS have done some quality work here, it'll bring the jet up to what it was really capable of in the latter stages of it's illustrious career for solo players.
A superb tutorial as per usual, well done! Also, superb work from Heatblur, excellent implementation it seems like which will add more function to what it already the best module (with the Viggen!) :-D
Wow a lot more detail than expected. Only thing I probably would add is along side manual head slew, have an option for manual axis or manual key slew too which will allow lantirn movement that way. Thanks for vid :)
Thanks for a great tutorial. Just to add, for F-14 LGBs, you don't take any line-up and release cues from the HUD but from the LANTIRN/Jester because the HUD and LANTIRN work independently of each other unlike in newer aircraft such as the F-18. Hence, you have to use bombing modes CMP/PLT (CCIP) or MAN (Manual) which let you drop the bomb anytime you pickle. The LGBs won't drop if you use CMP/PLT (CCRP) or CMP/IP as those require designating a ground target from the HUD using the diamond from the bomb fall line which is a bombing procedure that is totally independent of the LANTIRN.
After watching this, I realize that I need to setup my custom snap views and bind them to hat or thumbstick on my throttle. TRACK IR is great but these crazy closeup angles you got are better and will save me from doing the weird slide-over neckscrunch thing I'm constantly doing.
Man, it is always GREAT to see your videos, Redkite. Great stuff. Glad to see DCS finally recognizing and giving you the inside line on these upcoming updates and features. Well deserved.
Oh man. That's a lot of menu additions to keep track of but it all looks pretty intuitive and my god is it comprehensive on how to find targets. I like moving mud and love flying the tomcat, but a lot of the servers I play on are riddled with lethal short range air defences so unless you're playing in a coordinated group it's tricky to get anything done. Well, not any more! I can see myself flying the Tomcat almost exclusively in fixed wing stuff for a while.
Am I the only who noticed the 59 on the carrier superstructure and the different design on it? Also RedKite keep up the good vids I love them can’t wait to use the Forestall and the Jester AI Lantirn feature
That timing lol. I just started my trial today and was upset he couldn't control this and after googling saw some disappointing comments on the matter. After playing for a bit, and logging out, checked UA-cam and saw this uploaded like 30 mins ago. Talk about good timing lol
As much as we like to bash jester... his AI is pretty immaculate. Not perfect, but for those pilots who enjoy single, more than adequate. As always redkite, your videos deserve far more attention.
This is very cool. Do you know if jester can control the TCS as well? would be nice if i could tell him to lock targets with the TCS so i can get an aim-9 lock without the radar
@@joshuagarcia874 no you can. you can control it in the back seat as RIO. It works because it uses the contrast to lock but it only works at a range of 10 ish miles
That is impressive. So many ways of telling jester where to look at. Awesome job heatblur!
Thanks for the video RedKite!
Agree - impressive work by HB
Seeing Heatblur flesh out my beloved Tomcat so well is making me equally, if not more, excited for the Intruder.
And this solution for Jester is clearly how they intend to get their A-6 "jester" ("Tiger" Cole) to work. Impressed
It's going to be one hell of an AI model!
@@alext5980 😂
This is incredible. Perfect. All I could have asked for.
A fully functional and intuitive LANTIRN control AND a peep at CV-59
Oh damn I didn't even realize. Been waiting for the Forrestal

I'd rather just get a full-fidelity D model!

Can't wait to see what you come up with for Jester / LANTIRN in a campaign sometime!
@@egrikomrade Köszi szépen! :)
@@RedKiteRender Thanks, hopefully in my upcoming Tomcat campaign.
Hey, if we can command Jester to target next, maybe we can finally get prioritize next target in TWS as well!
Exactly - 100%
+1.000
The sole reason i don't play the tomcat in fox 3 servers with jester. This and track hold
I did hear a rumor that this is next
@@HighAspect that would be awesome!
Wow.. this is truly impressive I have been wondering how they would do this. Yet again Heatblur raises the bar.
Great work, as always!
You're the great, thanks Chuck
Are you his majesty Chuck from the guides ? If yes, i owe you thousands hours of intense fun and Impresssive knowledge !
Great tutorial. The Heatblur F-14 is so deeply developed I do not know when I will be able to fully explore all the features in there. Kudos to them also.
This is freaking incredible. Eyeball Q'ing, almost like having an HMCS mark point. The viper doesnt even have that yet :D This is awesome
Very exciting development for us ground pounders - thank you Heatblur. Looking forward to seeing similar functionality in the Intruder down the road
Finally! This will be fun to play with. So happy that you can look at a target and have him scan there. Looks very promising.
Once again Heatblur and RedKite are Raising the Bar to new levels inkluding a sneak peek at "Old Zippo" and the "Snort" livery.....I'm so stoked :)
What an awesome news!! Our beloved Tomcat just got better 😍
Thanks for the tutorial Red kite!
Thank you so much redkite! I have had the tomcat since day one and couldn't find a clear tutorial on this topic. as always, redkite delivers!
As always, the gold standard in tutorials.
You consistently deliver absolutely outstanding content, thank you for all the work you put in the videos mate
Redkite, still the only viewable DCS UA-camr delivering straight out of the box. Great vid, well done.
So, so good, brilliantly done - thanks Redkite and thanks Heatblur.
Thank you too!
As a mudmover, CAS just got awesome with that beast !
And thanks for the clear and concize tutorial Sir !
Curious and great work Heatblur, thank you for making our dreams and passions come true.
Any time baby!
That is really nicely done. Great job by HB as always.
This looks brilliant! A big Thank You to Heatblur for putting that much effort into the Jester AI. Great job!
Awesome work! That Forestall is going to look even better when we have A-6's on her!
Can't wait to hook up with a KA-6 tanker some time!
Thanks!
Great tutorial, RedKite! I must admit these features are WAY more robust and useful than I thought they would be. Wow!
Very nice. HBS have done some quality work here, it'll bring the jet up to what it was really capable of in the latter stages of it's illustrious career for solo players.
Most major improvment ofr solo player since a long time ! So much fun to come with this next beta !
Im Very impressed with the way that HB set up JESTER to work. And thank you on our behalves for giving you an advance sneak peek!
Very cool, I can't wait to try this out!
Simple yet hugely effective. Love heat blurs approach to AI multi crew. Great preview, can't wait.
They really set the bar for DCS!
Awesome video thanks ! Can’t wait for your Apache assessments
0:11 Hope he also has the line "Impact, BOOM, Oh yes!" - kinda reminded me of that.
0:22 Commands still heavily classified.
Looks great
EA's US Navy Fighters by chance?
Wow this looks phenomenal! Everything I wanted from the system.
Phenomenal system. Great tutorial and great job by Heatblur.
Great video, as always! I used to use the Solo Pilot Lantirn Mod; which was fun, but Jester doing alot of it really takes the workload off! :D
Super bad ass. Thank you Heatblur and Red Kite.
A superb tutorial as per usual, well done!

Still the best DCS study channel.
I love the Forestall tease at the end
Excellent explanation of an excellent new feature (and Forrestal is lookin' FINE)!
This is just... unbelievably cool
Wow. Even the laser brevity is era-specific. Heatblur has done their home work.
Incredibly informative, Redkite. I also noticed you used “Snort’s” jet in the beginning. Nice touch! 👌
Glad you noticed :)
thanks redkite for doing this great work by heatblur

Wow! I'm seldom impressed these days but dang, one hell of a job Heatblur! This exceeds my expectations!
Great video, very anxious to see this in action when the update is released. The Tomcat is an impressive weapons platform.

This is fantastic, now the F14 is a valid attack plane option for solo F14 pilots. Wow!
Man, it is always GREAT to see your videos, Redkite. Great stuff. Glad to see DCS finally recognizing and giving you the inside line on these upcoming updates and features.
Well deserved.
Looks good! I will still keep working the LANTIRN myself though :)
Brilliant work by heatblur yet again
Thanks for the thorough explanation. This is going to to be great! Cheers,
Another > EPIC tutorial < from you.
Why the blurred key bindings in the beginning? Is that an indicator for other new , yet undisclosed features? :)
Good question...
Just blurred to highlight the relevant controls only.
Really impressive! We’ll done Heatblur!
Excited for the Forrestal too.
Very nicely done, credit to both the design and presentation!
Another great tutorial. Many thanks RedKite!
Great video mate! Cant wait for this! That new carrier easter egg too!

Some impressive coding for this Jester AI. Awesome job Heatblur! Hopefully this AI wil also be implemented for the A6 Intruder :).
And now I want to main the Tomcat for a while.
I've been looking forwards to this update!
heatblur nailed this so well

Thanks Kindly
Nice tutorial and a great new feature. 👍
Wait a minute, they are still working on the F14? Unlike other third party developers, they truly care about giving us a satisfying product!
This is very cool. Do you know if jester can control the TCS as well? would be nice if i could tell him to lock targets with the TCS so i can get an aim-9 lock without the radar

Nice!! Im excited!

@1:41 - 1:43 is that EIGT on the left?
Glad we got this now, thanks! But cmon guys, we need a Sparrow Hawk HUD, badly.
This is AWESOME.
This is pretty sweet!
Very very good!!! Perfect tutorial!!!!
Siiiiick... And I almost skipped over this video
Great tutorial,thx
Red kite any chance you will be doing a video about the USS Forrestal and it’s features before next Wednesday
nobody going to talk about that sneaky CVN-59 tease in the intro?
This video helped me a lot, tks man!!!
Awesome!! Can I ask what skin of Red Rippers did you used? Is it available to download?
Something tells me it might just be available around the 20th...
This. Is. Awesome.
Great tutorial!
That is so incredibly cool! Cannot wait to obliterate targets with my 14 :D
Can JESTER use the LANTIRN pod for A/A mode?
Somehow my Jester doesn't have a Next Page option in Mission Editor. I'm using the correct GBUs & LANTIRN pod but I only see Next Page in training.
time to re-learn the tomcat
Bombcat is now official like a whistle o7
