Thank you so much Kevin. Always nice to have this kind of feedback for sure. As you might know, you can get any TAB in PDF format to have the best of both worlds (vids and real tab like a book) via link in video description.
Thanks man, this kind of appreciations are always welcome. I tried to do my best on this one and all the others songs since i back seriously on the channel since May-June Just for information, i also made songs like Sandman, For Whom, Wherever and more Metallica stuff in this format... nice to have you !
the rhythm guitar is off during the chorus though. compare it to the isolated guitar tracks of the original, the palm mutes especially are quite different.
If anyone here is using a Pod Go, use the digitech pitch wham, pedal pos: 100%, heel is 0, toe is -2, mix 100, level 0.0. I have it after my cab and it's spot on. sounds so good. Big UPS to Julian for the suggestion. I love your channel, dude!
Great thanks! looking forward for more Metallica Stuff, the best part of your tutorials is that you are doing Rhythm part and solo separately. I am mainly Rhythm player and it is main point for me. Keep up a good work!
Thank you friend, i appreciate that ! More Metallica will come for sure. Always with James and Kirk part, very well transcribed, best performance i can make, with maximum details possible etc... Keep an eye open on my channel ! 💀
Thanks man, really i appreciate it. As you might know, all my TAB are available in PDF format, great for printed version. All useful informations for every song, in video description and my PayPalme page www.paypal.com/paypalme/julienGuitarTAB
Love your guitar & sound. Ever play the second & third D5s of the main riff with L.H.-induced "staccato" like Hetfield plays? Makes for a more interesting sound I think than palm muting, tho it comes down to personal taste.
Cause they add some 2 guitars part, with bend and lot of reverb. But if you watch live version, Kirk play this part in the way i show you guys. Of course this part is also on the record.
@@JulienMENARD Yes, in live version this part is played identically like in your version, but i am very curious how to play the version with 2 guitars part with bend and lot of reverb. I couldn't find it anywhere.
This is the only version that I can find online where the rhythm section during the chorus is as you’ve written it. When you watch James play live it doesn’t seem like he’s doing this. Am I hearing it wrong? Where are you getting this version from?
Julien I'm learning this song and I have a question for you: the Bb (actually an Ab because of the tuning) chord in the chorus at 1:25 is supposed to be played muted or just rung out? I've noticed you noted that one as palm muted in the tab, but I'm hearing you just ringing it out, which is what I hear in the song as well. Who's right then? Your right hand or the tab? 😄
@@JulienMENARD Cool! Thanks. By the way, should I learn the solo(s) too? I have never learnt how to solo before, I only focused on rhythm parts because I need to get my right hand to be on time and keep a constant pace. Maybe if I forget the solo of this one and next song I do I pick one with a little easier lead?
You learn the solo if you want to do it. By the way, this one is maybe not the easiest one to start. But if you take one bar by one bar, slowly, with good reading of transcription, weeks after weeks you will put together and make something good. And i think my videos can be helpful for U for many years ! But SLOWLY first ... have a good pitch, feeling and rhythm 💀👊🏻💀 Good luck friend.
Of course the guitar still in standard tuning. This is the magic of this pedal. I use it on Sad But True for one step lower (for D standard). You can hear the pedal in half step lower mode (for Eb standard tuning) on Fuel, The Memory Remains, No Leaf Clover, The God That Failed, The Unforgiven 2. All available on my channel of course.
Hey friend, the way i played and wrote the bridge is exactly how James and Kirk play it live. I carefully study the question, see all the videos available to watch carefully what they do, you can trust my work. Also what we call the " official songbook " is totally wrong in this part.
I know, i play for you guys as they play the song for two guitars (so they cut some guitars, this " bend overdub guitar" is actually cut) - So you can be James or Kirk with my video.
Please don't tell me that you're using that faulty notation in the song book you're selling...! Your playing is solid and you've obviously taken great effort in making sure the tablature looks good, but the notation needs a lot of work. You've overlooked very basic things such as correct accidentals and enharmonic equivalents (for example, you've written A# throughout, but functionally in this song they should all be Bb because it's a flat 5th, not an augmented 4th - and yes, in notation that DOES matter, even though it doesn't in tablature), rhythm groupings (for example, you have a 16th note tied to an 8th note which should have been a dotted 8th note, and your 16th note triplet is separated from the following 16ths but should have been grouped together with a beam). A book full of these kinds of mistakes would really be a shame, despite the efforts behind it.
Hello, Mr Gul, You got good eyes, great. But I hope you noticed i've written Bb5 everywhere it needed to be and not A#5 ... ? So why all this Literature ?! The A# just comes from standard set up in software... but be confortable, in the book you will see Bb note (i did it before you tell me of course ... cause i am disturb by these kind of geek thing that everyone don't care about) For the rhythm you speak about, it's just your point of view, the dotted eight is sometimes hard to understand for the people who didn't study these kind of things, so see the 16th note you don't play helps sometimes, it's subjective... And be sure lot of people like the book and the accuracy of transcriptions (and notation) as Kirk and James really play. Hope you will have fun with my channel's videos.

I use for all the « non standard « tuning songs the pedal by Digitech - The Drop.

Awesome tone! How did you get that?
Thank you and simply with neutral clean amp with a regular Revv G3 pedal. It works best with 2x12 or 4x12 cab.
That's interesting, no alternate picking
Does your guitar tuned in standard before you use the digitech the drop?

I don't get it, is it just the low E string tuned one step down ? i thought "the DROP" could only drop all the strings altogether ...
All strings one step lower friend.
Can you do The Unforgiven 2 Please??
Maybe i have something around that in weeks to come.
