Hey guys, Glad the van reached you safely. The driver was right, I was a bit bubbling when it was going. It looks to me like the right people have bought it though so that's good. Forgot just how much work I put into it over the past 14 years until I saw the montage, quite nostalgic to see. It's good to know that between us it's another Ford Thames that's been saved and will see the road again. Your right, those wheels are for tubes. I just used valves all round whilst in the garage incase I punctured them rolling over bits of metal, which I did on two, hence I ended up putting tubes in those. The empty hole in the tank is for an original Thames fuel level sensor. The one that came with the van was broke so you can buy another OEM Thames one which will fit right in, you will need to extend the 'reach' of the float though. I didn't finish off the filler, it should be a bit pipe on the nearside of the tank connected with a flexible hose to the filler neck which is mounted on that wing. Oh, also, it is the original fuel pump from the Lexus, you may want to put an inline fuel filter somewhere too as its just the little sock filter on the fuel pump right now. I'll be keeping a keen eye on your progress, can't wait to see you driving it.
Thanks Kevin, I would have been in tears myself mate as cars mean so much to me and especially after putting so much hard work into it. I’m sure my Dad with do you proud and I’ll help him along the way, definitely have to come over here once it’s done mate. My dads going to use it a lot with him going to Wales every other week and it’s just the perfect project for him as he’s been after a Thames for ages and was also going to do an engine and gearbox swap so it’s worked out well, I’ll keep in touch and keep you updated Kevin and thanks for letting someone else carry on with your project mate 😁👍👍 cheers Shane
