One of my top 5 favorite quotes of all time is by Gurdjieff and I quote him often, because I have come to the same conclusion. Beautiful music by the way. “Try to understand what I am saying: everything is dependent on everything else, everything is connected, nothing is separate. Therefore everything is going in the only way it can go. If people were different everything would be different. They are what they are, so everything is as it is.” - G. I. Gurdjieff

No he was not sufi. Ever since Mr. Gurdjieff's death, sufis have claimed him as one of theirs. Either that or claimed that the teaching he brought is really Sufism in disguise. Parallels between Sufism and the ancient teaching of The Fourth Way can be pointed out, of course, certain of his dances, music and perhaps some practices. No one reading the first two series of his Legominism, All & Everything, could doubt his familiarity with and respect for Mohammed, Islam and Sufism. But does that make Gurdjieff a Sufi? Gurdjieff was a Christian. But not of contemporary vintage. He was a man of ancient soul and wisdom and he was a man of all religions and no religion. Everybody can find his religion and his particle in music and works of Gurjiedd.

@SarahHorne1 thank you! A massive coincidence, too. I was staying at my in-laws in Liverpool. On the Saturday we decided on a trip to Chester. They were relocating there. It's stunning. As we walked down its main street, I started to hear the baseline from the Ultraviolet album. It was unmistakable because it runs more or less throughout the whole album. I said to my wife 'sounds like Ed Allene Johnson'. Never in a million years did I think it would actually be him. Imagine my absolute astonishment when I saw the busker was the real EAJ!! He was dressed in black, purple, feathers sticking out. So cool! I spoke to him. He wasn't very responsive at all. But I didn't take offence. I guess he wanted to maintain the vibe his music brings. I bought one of his newer cds. What a trip!

Yes! This is what I want from UA-cam recommendations! I have spent years trying to figure out how to describe this kind of music so that I could hear more of it. I've never heard Gurdjieff's music before, but I love it.

I usually listen to upbeat music. But this was soothing and a nice background music. I know gur Jeff as a philosopher. The theosophical society from India had some connections with him

Mellow melancholic. If you like this, then you MUST listen to Ed Alleyne Johnson and his album 'Ultraviolet'. You'll love it.❤
Thanks! We check it!))
That is a great shout! 😊Love Ed Alleyne Johnson!!! 😊💖
I came across his video on UA-cam of his busking in Chester some years ago. Glorious. 😊💖⭐️
