I had o get more a traditional style longbow with medium locator/notched grip for my hunting model that was a Youth Longbow from GREAT PLAINS TRADITIONAL BOW COMPANY in hickory at 45 pounds, simply due to needing a bow at 24.5--25 inch draw so getting a bow that had a 24 is nice. I also have an old made exact same 1961--1979 60 inch Actionbow by Actionrod at the most common model to survive the 36 pound model I draw to 34--35 pounds most of the time due to being a 25--26 inch draw bow so really close to my draw. I wanted a 38 pound to 43/44 pound version of the same bow but the hunting weight bows are all worn out from hunting/general use as this bow was one of the few with such a low draw to the bow people who needed a bow like that wore them out as 90% of bows at the time were made to 28--29 inch draw.
Yeah, I'm trying to short lg bow with (kainokai) t grip is tiny. I love the bow cause is hard to shoot. I'm try t cant. Thanks. Agreed that longbow is interesting intinterested and more fun. Could you please speak speak to wooden bow in humidity and heat ( so. Ga here) thank y'all. Btw: how bout dem dawgs?
I'm new to shooting a longbow. Purchased a Black Hunter to test the water and now want a couple of custom longbows. Mostly interested in hunting from the ground using a Waldrop PacSeat. What would you recommend in terms of length. I have a 26.5 draw length. Just found your work and appreciate it.
I shoot a short hybrid longbow and can't seem to get rid of this slap noise. I have tried all I can think of. Brace height. Nock point. Different arrows. It's like a little tick noise when I shoot. I doubled up on silencers and went to a micro diameter arrow and it helps a lot but sometimes still get it. I'm guessing it's my release now but not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes sir, try shooting it split finger if you’re shooting 3under, short bows have a steep string angle at full draw and even if they’re tillered even they’ll still be more noisy, also if the arrow is too weak or stiff it’ll make contact on the shelf causing a tick.
hey buddy im just discovering your channel, love it so far! i love my compounds and my tradbows alike. I have a question though because that is the coolest armguard ive ever seen! where can i get one?
My reflex deflex bow is quite loud can you go through how you quieten your bow .I notice you have something on the limbs at the tips is this to silence the string slap as you would on a recurve
Well I’ve actually put Velcro on a longbow but the best way to quiet a longbow is to raise the brace height, install a selway quiver, run heavier arrows and make sure you use puffs on the string, all that is usually what it takes if it’s loud good luck with it let me know 👍🏻
@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 done all the things you suggested the only thing that seems to work is to use a B55 string instead of the fast flight string that came with it the bow is a Bodnik Quick Stick .There is a video on the net by Wolfie Hughes that reviews the bow and you can actually hear just how loud the bow is whilst watching it.Love the bow but hate the loud boing noise when it's shot.Loving the work you do on the net ,trying to get my instinctive up to some level of consistency .regards Bob

I was gonna ask the same thing. I tuned vertical then started canting to shoot and got some REALLY erratic flight but I think I narrowed it down to other mistakes. I think nock height has a more radical effect on this new bow I've got (it's not quite center cut, so if the nock is off I've got 2 axes of paradox. Add a crummy release and I was missing by almost 2 feet, yikes.)
This is the one we’re giving away Saturday it’s a shady oaks by Jeff Lamar it’s called the potter’s clay 👍🏻 be sure to visit our Facebook page to enter!
The passion longbows start at $975 and go up depending on wood choices accents and overlays etc they’re on our website at www.instinctiveaddictionarcheryllc.com

Would you shoot Simmons Tree Sharks from 40lb longbow?
You definitely could but I’d honestly go with a land shark or swamp shark, they are more likely to get really good penetration with lower poundage 👍🏻
How do you tune your arrows with such a small sight window? I thought that to tune, you need to shoot the bow vertically.
Yes sir I do bare shaft tune vertical but I shoot with a cant thanks so much!
