Overwatch: Why USA Lost to Korea - World Cup Pro Analysis
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- The Overwatch World Cup 2017 featured one of the most intense spectator matchups in Overwatch esports history, South Korea versus the United States of America. Many thought the match would be a bit of a blowout [myself included], despite the meta advantages USA was foreseen to be able to exploit. Emotionally, USA put up a incredible fight on the first three maps, winning the first, but allowing advantages to slip from their fingers on the next two and falling apart altogether on the last two. Despite the map score being 3-1-1 (posted as 4-2 due to the tie) USA played Korea close. The games were explosive and a joy to watch and yields confidence that these western players will compete in OWL, if these complex macro game plays start going their way.

You're getting a bunch of dumb and/or hate-y comments, but this was a beast of an analysis and, in my view, spot on. I've been looking forward to this vid since the cup. Thanks for putting it together :)
Perrin Carrell yeah while all other channels focus more in Flower popping off, this is a more interesting view of the high level macro, trickling and stalling game. Its quite amazing to often see how USA frags get no value objectivewise because of this.
I wish more people watched some pro play and realized how OW should be played.
Plus Korean team had hard time on Mercy meta compared to other countries. Winning is actually a overcome of real hardship.
This is so true. The entire community needs to see his explanation of how the Koreans took B by taking their time and focusing on sustaining their own lives to overcome the massive defender spawn advantage. I lose my fucking mind trying to get solo Q teams to do something like that instead of trickling and thinking going 1 for 1 is worth.
this world cup was ruined by the mercy meta, teams like France totally lost their gamestyle, korea had to adapt but they were not at their peak, it was just a pub for them
YourOverwatch make an hour long video going into massive detail and analysis as to why Korea outplayed USA and instead of learning from it, so many people are just commenting “it’s cause Korea are better”. It’s so disheartening to see people ridicule something that has had so much effort put into it
It's okay. Those who want to learn from this will, I hope anyway ;)
Just keep the good vids coming man!
Yeah theres a lot you can take away from it and really it shows a lot both good and bad about the Korean players that can be used to push western players further from this experience
To everyone replying that you can’t learn from this because of the random nature of matchmaking, I say sure it might not help you as a solo queue in gold but maybe to the diamond players who are actually trying to climb and improve, Your Overwatch can really help to show how this game should be played
You obviously can't use all of the analysis, but you can use the ideas. I play in gold, and I took the idea from the match of South Korea stalling cart with only one person and not the entire team to make pushing time-expensive, put it into a match, and we won off of that alone. (Also, for those of us who play in collegiate tournaments, these videos are invaluable.) Obviously if your team isn't listening (which happens more than I would like in matchmaking), there's not much you can do, but working these ideas in when you can might just give you an edge. Saying everyone in matchmaking isn't willing to listen is an over-generalization, and even at gold I get people who do listen to this kind of advice.
Further, analysis like this just might help teams practice tactics that might help them beat Korea. It's not a guarantee, but analysis like this is invaluable in helping these teams emulate the success of South Korea. This video was really meant more for the pro-focused scene and not matchmaking, but really some of the ideas can trickle down to matchmaking.
I think you are vastly underrating France v South Korea.
That match was 4 matches of CLOSE games, instead of USA v SK which was 3 maps of close games and 2 stomps.
France were in it Far better than USA were, yet the ONLY reason people looked at USA was....well...because the home crowd made it as such
D Mar similarly I think he also overlooked the final, canada vs SK. Like I watch all three matches and out of all them, France vs SK was the closest, Canada in second and USA got stomped. It might because hes bias since he is american but its kinda of sad that he think USA vs SK was the best match to analyze in the world cup
Sinclair Entertainment i care fab weeb
It's really because of Fl0w3r, his widowmaker absolutely destroyed the morale of team USA
Josh Corcoran and saebeobes tracer (spelling lol)
Fl0w3r is insane tho.
True that
He is like 4800 sr
It's not like D.va has four seconds of Matrix anymore.
Usama Khan Jake and Dafran >
Not really.
This vid was so good to the point where it made it way more complex than it actualy is,wich is extremely useful not only to show how deep it goes but also to show every single detail that cant be seen during the chaos of the live matches, keep it YourOverwatch love your vids
I thought I will watch 1 more video before going to sleep
And after 3 minutes I’ve noticed it lasts for an hour
W4RRI0R I went in fully knowing it was an hour, and now I'm reading comments.
Watching this makes me realize how little I understand Overwatch, and how games play out. It also makes me feel like it would be impossible for me to get anywhere near this level of play.
To me nothing can come close to overwatch World Cup 2016
Zunba graviton surge from eichenwalde gate
Taimou clutch with 1HP
Korea retake in king’s row against russia
They lost because they forgot to use soldier as a support and zen as a tank
Tracer* she is an evasion tank
What.
Insan3TV what the hell ..
Insan3TV 8:35 LOL sinatraa fans don't have to worry... yeah they don't that shitter didn't get into a OW team in the League
The zen killed the korean tracer more times than sinatraa did hahahha someone wasted 150k
Vitor Vena Explain?
sinatraa will be getting 150k a year
he was
Nickname 2 he kind of was. He was trying to control the other tracer, although killing him would be nice, that would put him out of an engagement. If someone were to get some useful damage, he couldn’t be part of the dive. The problem was, the other tracer did everything Sinatraa did, just better
Caleb Powell wym control him? Sin was avoiding him and focusing on the rest of the korean team but considering how many times sab killed sin, that was the wrong choice.
Korea's pullout game was too strong.
Lets be honest...The only reason why any team had a chance at beating Korea is becuz of the Mercy buff. Tobi, the best Lucio in the world would have made all the difference.
They lost to Korea because they are not Korean...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sombreeny exactly.
You beat me to the joke well played
Sombreeny No because no Seaguell
How are you always at the top of every comment section I'm on
The answer is obvious...
nobody fucking beats South Korea in a video game.
so dota 2 isnt video game?
Too be honest Korea is better because they play as a team more and how skilled they are makes them better overall, and even with Blizzard buffing the Mercy so much, USA still lost, Korea rarely plays Mercy, they mostly use Ana and Lucio, but they were forced to move away from that after the update. If there wasn't a Mercy buff, odds are Korea would have sweeped USA.
Tbh, I didn't have a lot of time when I started watching this so I'm just gonna say this. On Eichenwalde, fctfctn didn't use his ult to keep sk in spawn which really screwed them over. Not mention that Rawkus' trans was used in a really bad way and could've been saved.
this is the same as league of legends, you USA teams can't win on team tactic games, because you are focused too much on individual prowess...
xYuushax it was the second best team and jake is a top 10 player in owl and coolmatt and muma (i think muma is american) is one of the best tank duos adam is the best mercy rawkus has a crazy zen and soldier sinatraa underperformed hes a great zarya and sinatraa like look at the other usa matches sinatraa did great
This ^ ... Korea had the better positioning and strategy while USA had the better skill (minus flow3r). It shows 100% in this game that a good strategy will beat a team that just gets more kills every team. And when flow3r was on (especially with Widowmaker) USA had no chance. Flow3r also was awesome with Pharah and USA tried to counter with Pharah instead of Soldier 76 and they got crushed.
Simple, because no matter how good you are, there will always be an Asian better than you
-Jordvl - eeeee Asian
Correct it is Say-BYO-be , however western casters said it the other (wrong) way so long it's hard for me to pronounce it right. I'll get there, forgive my ignorance. -F
FREEDO Sooo... When are you gonna coach the USA team so they can beat Korea? ;)
I honestly thought you were saying saeb-yol-be instead of sae-byol-be.
Nah man, the announcers that kept saying say-byo-be were also saying it way wrong. Don’t worry too much.
Freedo already has talked to Jake lol I think he could def coach them or at least cast these events/do the official post-game breakdown analyses
It’s SAY-B-O-B
Star team will always beat team of stars...
My favourite part of this match was in Eichenwalde, when the USA was just being bombarded by Flow3r's nades in the spawn lol can't even get out of spawn because of a Junkrat. I love it when the crowd was shouting "USA! USA!" and then IMMEDIATELY got owned by SK LOL
peaaanuuutz yeah. Americans.
I mean Sinatra did underperform and that could have been due to pressure but I think you're giving him too much credit. Sinatra didn't even go up against the "best" tracers; not to discredit Saebyeolbe. Sinatra was without a doubt, the weakest link.
zerozano saebeobley is one the best tracers you dink. Lower mechanical skill but his team coordination was exceptional. Dont nessacarily disagree with you but your reasons are stupid.
Omari_TNO I agree with you
Us. Relied too much on mercy meta. Team play will always beat mvp players.
korea didn’t know how to play mercy....that’s why first three battles were harsh for them. look at what happens before a snowball death... mercy died first.....hanamura, eigenwalde....always..mercy didn’t know how to survive....
... because I'm not on the team.
Jesse Agpawa
Grow up.
Because no one wanted to hold my beer
Darin Gainey Why are you telling him to grow up?
The real MVP 💪😤
I feel ya man. I was home alone and screaming like it was the super bowl! It was way better than that of course. USA did amazing. I am not ashamed of how we lost.
Drinking game: Take 1 shot every time he miss-pronounces saebyeolbe
A better question is Why Usa can won some rounds?
The reason why South Korea won is because they won more matches than USA
- John Madden
"If you score more touchdowns, you win the game" John Madden
Good grief, people. The Koreans are not untouchable gods. Watch the video. Hell, watch the matches. USA could have won, mostly if they'd kept focus and made a few better decisions. In particular, they *very nearly* and *should* have won both Eichenwalde and Hanamura, which would have given them the match right there. Then the poor decisions and play on Gibraltar and Oasis would never have happened.
AislinnBMln Yeah it was a really close match and if they didn't choke on some points, they had potential to win.
They really, really did! That's what makes this such an amazing match. A little better play, slightly better decisions, and that match could have been USA's instead. If people are paying attention, they'd realize that this shows just how much potential the USA players actually have, and that this whole thing is by no means decided.
AislinnBMln Jake had some choke moments with ults. Like Visor, he just gets killed before fully using it because he was horribly positioned and couldn't react. If he saved his ult when rez was used, he could've pop a visor and possibly get a few picks or carry in Hanamura.
Poor Visor usage and positioning is almost certainly the deciding factor on Hanamura, yeah. He loses Visor with absolutely zero value three times because he panic ults or simply is positioned poorly for using it.
On Eichenwalde, the deciding factor was failing to pop Primal Rage at the door to stall Korea from the payload, and poorly timed Transcendence, I think, in addition to the Grav/Self Destruct unnecessary combo that Freedo pointed out in the video.
AislinnBMln lol without the mercy changes U.S would of been screwed
I see a lot of people saying that USA didn't do too bad but the truth is that they got absolutely stomped, SK couldn't make use of their Zen/Lucio Plays by Ryujehong and Tobi as much as they liked to since Mercy is absolutely broken. 3 Players from the SK team are from a SK team called Lunatic-Hai which is one of the best teams if not the best right now after getting new DPS players in their team. Lunatic Hai is a very Support based team which means that their support does the carry instead of their DPS instead of maybe EnvyUs. USA had a proper Mercy player that is way more experienced on Mercy compared to Ryujehong or Tobi. Mercy's skill roof is extremely low because of her no aim 60Hps compared to Ryujehong's Ana who has to aim and flick and do damage while still only healing 60Hps. SK came unprepared, they underestimated the power of Mercy so they tried to force a different/old composition like they did during the qualifiers in Katowice, they forced Ana and Lucio on the first point of Nepal and were destroyed because of the inability for their team to revive players and turning the team fight to their advantage so Ryu was forced to play Mercy to keep themselves viable. Mercy's ult lasts for 20 fucking seconds while being able to heal all 5 teammates at the same time still keeping it at 60hps compared to Lucio's low healing except for his sound boost. Jake was a great Soldier on Hanamura but was eventually shut down by Flow3r on widow and then became too scared to initiate Flow3r because of his insane skills while having exceptional Supports. Honestly, what gave USA a chance in the first place was because of the Meta running in their favour, you know there's something wrong when not even SK can avoid playing Mercy to win their games and team fights (Of course on some maps Ana is preferable than Mercy such as Gibraltar). Everyone is saying that Mercy has been ruined but in my opinion her play rate has gotten higher just because the ability to change an entire team fight by rezzing one or two people. All in all, it was a great Match even though 150cents got shut down almost every fight by Saeyeolbe and eventually became invisible on Oasis.
The fact that SK is simply better also counts in a huge factor of their win but i just thought there was a lot more than just skill. I hope that this comment won't induce toxicity and more of a proper discussion on why USA lost to SK
It is South Korea's fault that they weren't flexible enough within the mercy meta,it's unfortunate that they got the short end of the stick in the meta change though.I won't complain,it made the match interesting,a full slaughter would've been boring to watch and make the whole idea of a "World Cup" stupid when SK wins every time. Nevertheless, much of the U.S made me cringe. Sinatraa is toxic garbage,I'm sad this is the best flanker the U.S put on their team. Rawkus barely made a major impact over the whole match,it seems like he would've been better on other supports or even Sombra for all I care. The tanks did a decent job,but they allowed flow3r to rip apart the U.S easily in many situations.Overall,Adam and Jake kept the U.S in this match.
This guy gets it. U are absolutely right. Mercy has never been a popular pick in Korea due to its low skill cap. And yes, this Mercy meta was completely shit. It made getting first picks pretty much meaningless amd thus made the game boring as hell.
I’ll tell u a joke
Jake’s visor ;>
I want a new Tank hero. I know we should be expecting another dps if the hero release pattern follows, but I'm really bored of the tanks we have rn.
I'm surprised they haven't introduced another tbh. 3 supports (If you count Sombra as an off-support), 1 dps, but no tanks.
Honestly I just want that Athena-like character, no matter what role it'll play.
PortalGunner uhhh, orisa?
She was played plenty at the world cup.
CptFeco actually lots of people play orisa... even at top level lol
Yeah, I see her as often as I see Reinhardt
Video resume: Korea is better than USA
SBB fucked Sinatraa
Fl0w3R fucked USA
Zunba stalled a shit tone
Ryujehong its amazing
Tobi is Miros brother ( he did good to )
Mano is amazing at rein and Winston
Qodey OW And jake tried his hardest to carry
Verzi yeah
600 likes?
SpiralArcGFX they got the numbers advantage, too! They're unstoppable
Envyus won OGN Season 1 against the top korean talent as a fully western roster.
@ Tristan Rast they had mickey when they won season 1
omg, dude he's from Thailand
And they played without him all the way to playoffs with TaleSpin
Lol I was at blizzcon and the amount of disrespect to SK was a bit sad. These guys put in the work to be good and USA fans are just ignorant to the other players. And sinatraa being mechanically better than SB is idiotic statement
Could you do this for the finals game against Canada as well? This was a really well thought out video with some great explenations, and I'd love to hear what you guys have to say on the finals (especially with how the cheese strats like torb or bastion worked)
Rocket I agree! I thought Canada held their own just as well as the USA did and I’d love to see what YourOverwatch has to say about that match
USA = Goku - Kaioken, ssj1, ssj2, ssj3, ssjG, ssjGssj, Kaioken ssjGssj, Ultra Instinct.
South Korea = Saitama - Limitless power based on effort.
South Korea is a living final boss.
Best NA team was actually Rogue ( only french palyers )
Grandmanitou Envyus
Hands down the best breakdown and analysis I have seen of any match in Overwatch. Period.
Superior ultimate management and superior teamwork > individual skill alone. Fatigue can set in as well. Its also a test of endurance both mentally and physically. Pressure and stress can affect precise movement and clear thinking. SK maintained poise while USAs flaws slowly became apparent. Costly choices and mistakes were made. Rawkus underperformed greatly imho. Not his fault solely, but he made some very questionable decisions that directly led to his death multiple times.
I need these videos in my life. Make more please 👍
Sinatra got outplayed hard by saebyolbe
I really like how you managed to both make a great and entertaining analysis of the games and squeeze in tips and game knowledge that is so badly needed in our community.
Keep it up guys I'd love to see more videos like this!
I dunno if you realized or saw it, Freedo, but I'd like to mention one thing which was never explicitly said in the video:
The South Korean team positioned itself very cleverly during stalling the point situations. They positioned arround the point and put made sure that at least 1 player contested the point, this much you said. And here's the thing which stuck out to me: they cycled the contesting role while contesting the point, while the one who contested switched the "shifts" let's say, with another one, they went off the point to get healed up. And they continued this until they saw the opportunity to win and finish the fight. And I think that this, additionally to the arguments you pointed out, are the reasons why -as you said- makes the difference between the South Korean approach to the game and the Westerners.
SAY
BYE
OLBE
SAY IT RIGHT
Jake died with his ult a lot
rip since mercy is dead korea will sweep again... feelsbadman
*China #8*
Tim Chon china number 18
thegreatcalvinio if you didn't notice, 4 of the team China members failed to get visa to go to blizzcon do they had 4 subs, and that was one week before blizzcon
Chinese team is the only team can fight against korean, if there is no that stupid visa issue.
taiwan numba one
Excellent video, there are so many levels to the game from individual play to healing and ult economy. I learned a lot.
A 1 hr video? Someone's been dipping into the adderall...
Nathan Frantz xD
You've made me respect Ryujehong's genius (primary shotcaller I believe) and South Korea's aptitude at the macro side of Overwatch.
The only reason the USA won the first 2 maps or whatever is because SK didn't play mercy after that it was all downhill. If SK just played mercy the whole time they would have steamrolled USA.
Burnedbread 835 tobi is nothing compares to adam in mercy
Cleveland brown due to lack of experience
Momentai yea he has less mercy experience then me in mercy like when the tire was used he stayed low ground he needs to stay lucio since he is best lucio ever
13:33 if you focus on tobi on the top left, you can see that he used valk to avoid Jake's tire. Give tobi some credit!!!
Top 100 sym = a ban
Someone plays torn on attack in World Cup = congratulations
Ah yes, my favorite hero, Torn.
Torn, the legendary third Shimada brother.
Torn new hero leaked at overwatch world cup
They didn't get banned for playing sym. Regardless, playing one hero all the time isn't the same as using a non meta hero
GilbertPlayz - overwatch and more yea life’s great 😂😂
I really like these longer form videos/ breakdowns. (And i don't even play OW) Thanks! :)
They lost because they didn’t eat their vegetables
Homer4a10 finally a real reason
This reason > any other reason
well said buddy
lol what. did this guy just say sinatraa has superior skills compared to sabyeolbe? lmao hardcore usa supporter
They lost because
Ryujehong and tobi> rawkus and Adam
Legit everyone was saying Adam and rawkus are more experienced mercy players which shows that they're garbage supports lol
SBB and Flow3r> Jake and sinatraa
I don't recall SBB losing a single duel to sinatraa lol, sinatraa got stomped hard by SBB and Jake I would say def carried but his team sucked
Mano and zunba> cool Matt and fact
Mano second best Winston and one of the best reins
Zunba best Zarya to walk the earth. His dva is also in a league by himself
Cool Matt and fact play for sub par teams and lose to sub par players.
Aside from Jake USA was hopelessly outclassed.
Team StaBlame Bunch of korean thinks tobi is trash on mercy
I'd say Adam is a better Mercy than Tobi, but everything else I agree with the you
Mr Brian Sama Id say tobi and ryujehong sucking on a shitty character like mercy is a testament to their skill with Lucio/zen/Ana lol Adam and rawkus are good at playing an easier character
Jehong and tobi weren't experienced because they rarely play it bc they have actual skill lol
This is like the most uneducated difference .Fctfctn and cool Mat are considered great tanks.D.Va of cool Mat is way better than Zunba who is known for Zarya. Mano nah not really ...Sinatraa has better mechanics than sabb sorry but true ..
Sounds like someone bet too much money that South Korea wouldn't lose a map LUL
How about look at the actual gameplay and not just statistics?
Whoever watched the whole thing, I truly applaud you.
The real question is why did Canada lose?
Probably not enough invested players and roughly 1/10th the size of USA's population. Hell we don't even have our national flag for an avatar... (Something about no Canadian Heroes/maps yet)
I think the main story here is that the USA vs Korea match was close but a lot of that had to do with the latest patch being in favor of the USA players, if this tournament was pre patch Korea would have rolled all the teams. USA would have still probably got one win or draw but not the other win or draw.
That's why some major sports teams still have fans too, like the brown and 49ers. lol
Jeff has to Nerf Korea 🙃
Sk8_iKiLLeR Lol you are making me laugh! You can’t nerf Korea dummy. You have to get good. Canada is the closest state to defeat Korea. So pretty much everyone has to get better.
Jimin’s little Heartu canada? They were wrecked by us.
Because South Korea has a mastery over overwatch in all characters they have perfect tanks and support they don't need the DPS to carry the other roles will. And the only reason the USA got a interesting game was because mercys changes just came out and that was basically the only reason they got "far". Anyone knows South Korea before in the previous meta before mercys changes would have shattered the USA.
They had flower. That’s it lol
13:17 that play by korea wasnt planned. They said later that the plan was for fl0w3r to deflect the grav. that was the shotcall atleast
(Usa < Korea) Only for Overwatch though ;)
CanimationsYT usa > korea, when it comes to weight
Blazenoise 358 Lol nice one
Freedo, respect for putting so much effort into this video.
Korea is still Untouchable
Untouchable ? They lost 1 map which to me , is not untouchable , they played better last year lol.
When Korea relies largely on one player to save two maps, they are not untouchable
Siegfried They played better last year because they were playing heroes which they are known to be amazing at. This year, with the Mercy meta, Ryujehong and Tobi, known for their Ana and Lucio plays respectively, played mostly Zen and Mercy, where other countries had better players who played those heroes. Zunba, known for being one of the best if not the best Zaryas in the world, had to play DvA. It's pretty impressive that they managed to beat USA, since the US players were very accustomed to the heroes they were playing in the world cup. If last year's heroes (without nerfs/buffs) were used for this year's world cup I'm quite sure we would've seen SK steamroll the competition.
DqrkExodus That proves they’re not untouchable. Untouchable means they’re godly at everything the games throw at them , they were forced to adapt to the Mercy meta and that cost them 1 map , it’s just a matter of time before someone dethrones them , the other countries need to practice really hard , it’s not easy to win against SK.
Phantasm Lord a Korean overwatch team lost in Korea to a USA team in contenders some time this year. I forget the name of the match but it happened.
Edit: it was an Apex game in Korea
Can you please review the Korea vs Canada final 2017 I’m Canadian and just Canada getting to the finals was Christmas for me so I’d love it if you could review the match
Unless someone from the Korean teams moves to America and joins America I don’t see anyone beating Korea tbh
🦫
The OW World Cup was pretty bad, talking about the crowd. They booed SK for WINNING. WINNING. That's just really stupid. If the US would win, they diffinetly wouldn't boo . Not to mention XQC and I repeat, XQC won MVP. It honestly should've been Flow3r, he played a insane Pharah and Widow on Watch Point Gibraltar with his insane headshots.
I can't even begin to explain how little I care. Blizzard needs to get their shit together and decide once and for all how Competitive mode needs to be played.
TheUnholyOne explain your point
yeah i dont get it either, mi
what has been going on with the competitive mode? professional overwatch players adapt like crazy to whatever in the first place, and the match on its own was interesting, so in any case, i dont see how your disgruntelment of that interferes with the enjoyment of the match?
Does anybody else call Saebyeolbe Sabeleye(the pokemon)? :D
Rasmus Juul Svendsen at first, yeah
They lost cause Korea has better nukes
Luis Ramirez
We need to build a wall, the Interceptor can't intercept asian bombs
Luis Ramirez wrong Korea
thats the other korea mate
we'll see about that, i imagine
Sorry we don't have nukes but we do have mekas
They lost cause Flow3r was a stronger dps carry than sinnatra and jake, plus jake played like absolute shit during the games. He wasted two entire ults as soilder, switched to genji and junk because his aim was off yet got countered and accomplished nothing, then switched to phara and played her like a silver/gold player would. I'm not dissing his overall skill as I know he's a good player, but he seriously fucked his team that day...
USA team is so arrogant that I hope they lost
How were they arrogant? Genuinely want to know because I haven't heard any of the dialogue through the league.
Sovanrotha Mam Dayum meriancs
look for interview
jack smith after the match
North American players are more toxic as well. Doesn’t seem ridiculous to have a player representing their country in the World Cup then get banned
I️ truly don’t believe South Korea is “just better”. I️ feel they actually take the time to learn characters, learn the maps and take that knowledge, team up and strategize their movements. They probably don’t move in game before knowing what the other team is doing and communicating how to effectively counter.
Where a lot of western teams lose is that we just want to play for the highlights, we’re all really good individually but because of that we feel like “alright time to make a play ” and ironically it’s what makes us lose
okay, we get it, Korea is good. you don't have to comment it on every video, sheesh
Does espn just "stop" talking about the Cavaliers when they fight their way up to the top of a championship? What a basement dwelling loser. Get real, this is a competitive scene, expect the winners to receive attention and ffs this video is titled Why US lost to Korea dumbass. Don't give yourself a thumbs up on your own comment you chump, how cringe.
joe billybob why the hostility man jeez lol
Lol then dont watch it
He does need to keep commenting on it. We need to step up before they end up having multiple teams making it to the finals like they do in league of legends.
Alex KOREA IS GOOD ! XD
GOD this analysis was on point. I love 1 hour videos like this where you guys dig deeper than most are willing to go. I really hope America can learn from some their bad mistakes. Alot of impatience, bravado, and bad calls did them in. Really happy to see this ackowledged.
TL;DW USA made the mistake of playing a video game against Koreans
Koreans aren't top in every videogame
This is not at all a summary of what was in the video.
This video could have been about five seconds long. Team USA lost to S Korea because team USA was the weakest team that weekend.
Lol, South Korea coming in to beat Team USA at the last second on eichenwalde third point with a crazy grav-dragon blade combo. Hmm, where have we seen this before?.🤔
Nice analysis. Very good match to see. Hope you will do a France Korea analysis too since the match is a the same level as this one if not better sometimes (dat hanamura)
so the country with 51000000 and skill is golith and the one with 325000000 is david? that's a stupid thought if you think for 2 seconds
Dude an hour long pro breakdown! You've put some real serious effort and time there... Good job man it really helps watching these videos
Very well done w/ the video! Always love watching these in-depth & detailed videos on the pro matches! Very entertaining to watch! Good job!
The main issue that I saw for USA is that they struggled really hard to close out fights. Going into this I”ll be honest I initially dismissed this as Korea gonna take it hands down, but was I wrong. I don’t wanna bring sports into this but it’s like like how basketball has been for 3 years. You have that powerhouse team Cavs/Goldenstate(Korea) and you start thing that no one else has a chance, but as time progressed, other teams started showing that they can go toe-to-toe with these powerhouses. South Korea is good but other teams are gettin. Better and proving that they have what it takes to challenge those at the top. But what do I know. I’m just a filthy console pleb
CodeBreeze lmfao the console pleb got me our shitty internet shitty graphics and shitty 5 year old and dumbass players community i bet we’d get owned if we switched and played against PC players with thousands of dollars invested into PCS as us just buying a $200 console and regular ass internet lmaooooooooo
wtf? Sinatraa's mechanics are actually superior to SBB's? are you serious? Your video is great except that shitty comment
Why USA lost to Korea?
I didn't know USA were asian yet.
Sometimes I wonder if in school in South Korea children are taught how to be pro gamers rather than learning science, maths, etc.
Why Usa lost to Korea?
Usa never really had a chance...
Korea is the best when it comes to majority of esports
I was so salty at first when USA lost but after a while I got over it. It was kinda sad to see how salty everyone was about Korea wining.
Until you’ve stepped foot into CenturyLink Field, you don’t really know how a true sporting event sounds
It’s over America I have the high ground
1 HOUR VIDEO?!?!?!
It was because the USA was way to reliant on mercy and couldn’t deal with flower
I️ have a question, if everyone knows SK’s dominance comes from in part skill but more so team play why don’t US teams get with the program? Sure being able to win because you have a team full of beast solo players seem fine at first but if they are taking this serious why not just maximize on team play why is our play style so dependent on being a “Hero” player quite literally that just gets super hot and for a moment seem unstoppable. Instead of playing with a consistently good squad with chemistry and team work that can learn the game together
If anyone is familiar with the old COD competitive days I️ feel like we just have a team full of optic scump’s. Amazing players solo wise but not the greatest when you have to solely depend on him/them going off for multiple games and series
In my opinion, it's a cultural thing. Asian players value teamwork and the greater good for all players on the team as primary goals. Frags are a side benefit rather than the primary goal. Western culture seems heavily entrenched in trying to get the most kills as the vehicle to a win...which unfortunately doesn't always work out. I hope all teams take notes and bring it hard next year. I want every match to be as exciting as the first 3 maps of this series.
anyone else kinda put off that he never said Saebyeolbe's name right? 😂
The most basic but important advice I heard so far. (I'm at 38:35)
"It only takes 1 character to stall the point. If you are a squishy, stay away from it."
It's so basic but it's something I never do because it's just a natural instinct for me to jump on a contested point even if we have several bodies on it already.
Because being a pro gamer in the states doesn't get you women like it does in Korea.
it's the only time i watched a pro overwatch game
