Overwatch: BEST Pro GOATS Match EVER! - Overwatch League Finals Analysis

- Stage 2 finals come to a close to reward the San Fransico Shock with their flawless stage, losing only 3 maps throughout, two of which to the previously undefeated Vancouver Titans, whose fast and loose style has been unbeatable until this match. To overcome the juggernauts of the Titans, Shock further developed their careful control GOATS style from stage 1, but with the practice of honing overly aggro play all Stage 2, farming up easier opposition. When it came to the Vancouver Titans in the finals however, the clash of styles gave us the best goats match ever, where Shock finally could land the clutch value plays to swing back fights, not just win the clean ones, therefore robbing the Titans of their trump card that had clutched out games for them every series prior. With Sinatra and Super going massive in the final map especially, but controlling the series carefully for most of it, the Vancouver Titans are finally beaten and Shock rest with a long break between stages as the best team in the world, having conquered the best. Moth was bubbled, right as he finishes the pin he gets double booped. Making it appear that the charge was canceled. Huge play by sinatraa

No, I don't agree, it looks like a bug to me, Brig was M1ing, Lucio was in the pin, and the only other source for a boop was the Rein hammer, either way, the bubble was off by the time Rein's charge is canceled and the charge should have continued on much further even with a legit boop.
Boops do not cancel Rein charges only stuns do there was no stun and that was not a full Rein charge so it definitely looks to be a bug.

Agreed. I feel like a hero ban system would work better than role restrictions, because you could throw all of the wrenches onto goats, without taking away from the value of the super organized team play
I don’t think anyone really hates Goats. I think it’s a good comp but when that’s all that’s been played for nearly a year it gets so boring. Same with mercy meta last year

At 3:05 Moth was saved by a bubble by Sinatraa. Super reviewed this fight from his perspective last night and pointed that out. Amazing video as always btw!!

This was one helluva finals to watch. But bumper's feels when they lost, that L is heavy man.
It's fun to cheer against the Titans and it was definitely fun to watch them lose but that clip made me remember that 18, 19, and 20 year olds really are just kids. Pretty sure I balled my eyes out at 18 when we lost soccer districts.
Feels were heavy on both side, when Bumper was trash talking how easy winning against shock was stagr 1 super was pissed.

That big L is the humble pie bumper needed to learn his lesson. On the other hand, super lost first time and then won with grace and humility. Glad to see the better sportsman win in the end.
Ok well that may be true I don’t really see anyone else bringing up that Sinatra was doing basically the same thing during the World Cup and frankly the rest of team US was doing it

About time. Bumper got a big head from all of those wins. He thought he was good, but his team was carrying him hardcore and we all knew it.
Agreed! On any other team he would be benched for being a feeder. Look at Fissure: He is likely benched because he plays like Bumper but his team isnt able to carry him with that playstyle that Vancouver can.

Yeah Moth got bubbled by sinatraa
After watching it for the 1,000th time now, I think the pin collision happened, you can see a little particle effect (blood splatter) to indicate it did, however it never LOOKED like the pin resolved, it looked like it got reflected. I suppose the bubble blocked it _then_ the boop came through.
Must be one of those client side things lol
Is it me or does it look like the bible breaks as soon as the charge touches moth, then reappears on contact with the wall?

Maybe since you are cc immune in bubble except for when you are being pinned by reinhart when reinhart is booped while pinning someone with bubble maybe the pin is canceled because reinhart moves too far away from the bubbled target and the pin is cancelled.

Hey Freedo, you should do a video on Lanchester's Square Law and how it applies to Overwatch engagements. You reference the idea of advantages and disadvantages often enough to make this well worth doing.
That last fight might be the greatest clutch we have ever seen..going in a 1 vs 5 almost 6 ultimates..im glad i watched it live

Bumper has the best support line in the league (slime and twilight) keeping him alive and he's been getting all the praise, so it was good to see sinatraa and super punishing him for once.

His Zarya was always pretty strong. If anything, he just made the next step from solid to world class during this season.

I don't usually like goats, but this was SO interesting. As I've gotten into professional play, I've learnt that goats is one of the hardest team comps to dominate in. It takes so much communication, skill and precision. GG Shock, they played amazing
Bumper and Seominsoo were outplayed all series and many before this one but their team was so much better than their enemies.
I bet Rascal is happy now. Much better team now!

The fact that the Shock was the only team that was able to sponge there agression consistently anyways it make sense that they’d hesitate against them in this match but as a result we found there weakness without their agression the Titans fall apart

It was almost set up for the Titans to be undefeated for this long. Yes they are a great team but they NEVER got to play NYXL until just last week for the very first time, and they only faced the Shock once or twice, and both teams are obviously capable of taking them down. Other than that they never got the chance to actually get beaten just because the OWL wanted to save the best match for last on the first stage- NYXL vs Titans... Wich didn't even end up happening.

Well it truly was an exhilarating match and a display of just how to play GOATS. A perfect way to end the GOATS meta with whatever it is blizzard is planning for stage 3

Sinatra's gravatons on the cart weren't a waste, it kept the Titans from stalling and allowed the cart to get pushed even further.
Sinatra, Super, Violet, and Moth... Yeah, that must have been fun to play against.
Your Overwatch:I believe the “grand” final is the final at the end of the season. I believe it was just a stage two final that they were playing. I could be wrong.

Dynamics would change yes New York would do better when it counts but we saw in stage two that Vancouver would be very well off in a return to the Dive meta hell in the middle ground meta period as I’ll call it (Brig was introduced but it was before Goats was everywhere) during contenders they were fine

I'm so happy that Bumper's obnoxious feeding style of play has finally been brought to justice. His attitude always reminded me of those battle Mercys below plat who think they can get away with constantly running around with their gun drawn.

I can’t believe how frustrating it has to be to loose a fight like that as a flex support player. I mean twilight has to be thinking now “what if I ulted later or what if I got a right click on viol2t”. And on his steam two hours later, he wasn’t even talking at all, it was sad

You missed so much in the final fight of that match... Haksal and Bumper chose to W+M1 forward on Super (who was low) this caused Sinatraa’s Grav to get much more value than usual. If Bumper and Haksal defended there grav’d teammates, they most likely would have survived. Also, on the “boop” on bumper’s charge is was really a clutch bubble and armor pack on Moth who was the focus of the grav
Without that in depth Analysis, I'd never been able to understand what was going on there - because frankly, I never get what is going on when watching other people's gameplay uncommented.
The rest of Titans helped Bumper got away too many times with his reckless feeding, but not this match.

In all honesty I really hatte the fact that Sinatraa can be so overconfident and cocky while nobody is ever able to stop him. I really thought Seominsoo would be able to give him a run for his money, but this set showed that he really can’t do. By now I‘m pretty sure anybody can....

The pin at 3:00 was zarya bubbled so moth didn’t die and then moth booped him after the pin and the grav was close enough to pull moth making it look very weird.
What happened to the DPS class???
