Remember the ogre is blind, as his eye has been ripped out to make Kovik's weapon, which is why hunter going invisible does nothing to stop the ogre pursuit as he relies on sounds/ movement to check your position.
So, does that mean crouching/not moving stops it from finding you? Funnily, I've never actually tried this as you can just run around the arena in circles.
imagine being able to shout or scream to distract the ogre from one of your teammates while that teammate stops shooting and talking, that wouldve been so cool
I know we have risk runner but man I would not be upset if they brought back Zhalo. Something about that old school AK model just feels so good to shoot.
I think I know now why Destiny 1 strikes were so replayable. It's the enemy diversity. While The Wretched Eye and Sepiks Redux may not be the most diverse with enemy encounters, they are outliers compared to the rest of the strikes. Think about Valus Ta'aurc. For the first three encounters in his strike, did you get either Taken or Cabal? Who knows. It's random every time instead of remaining the same and that's what I wanna see in strikes these days. A degree of randomness in encounters and even boss fights can fix replayability in strikes on top of strike loot.
Josh Strife Hayes put it very well (when talking about enemy encounters in video games): multiple problems! If a game presents you with multiple problems at the same time, it forces you out of a singular comfort zone to try and deal with all the problems presented. Take the Kovik, Splicer Priest boss fight in this video; the boss shoots a deadly barrage from afar, but there is an Ogre charging at you at the same time - forcing you to move out of cover and engage the fight on the move. You can't just pop Bubble or play cover/reload and chip away at the boss without taking any risks whatsoever. Now imagine that fight without the Ogre. Boring, right? The best solution to keeping gameplay challenging and refreshing is to always present the player with multiple problems at the same time, thereby requiring multiple strategies (solutions) to overcome it. Letting players play through your game exactly the same every time they attempt it is boring - and does not engage the player. A player that is not engaged does not feel invested, and therefore doesn't feel rewarded for completing objectives.
This. I hop on D1 every so often just to enjoy the game and the guns, but I recently replayed the Sepiks perfected Nightfall. I saw that one of the modifiers was arc burn and thought to myself, "The Siva Fallen just use solar weapons, I should be fine." Only to find out and remember that all of the encounters save for Sepiks become battles with the Hive lmao.
it amazes me how bungie was able to make difficult content for solo players without giving even the most basic enemy a billion health points. seeing how fast everything dies here is like a fever dream
*shudders* Oh man with Omnigul on arc burn, if it wasn't her firing at you, it was the arc boomer knights, or a cursed thrall wandering up to you and explode, plus the regular thralls melee attack was classified as an arc attack, so yes, the PTSD of soloing this is real...
D1 just had a completely different vibe! The builds and weapons felt more powerful somehow than the crazy min/max 20-hour grind builds we have today. Also the strikes of D1 had way more personality and replay value. Strike specific loot helped out too! *wow didn’t expect all these replies! I should have probably clarified that I felt this way after Lightfall dropped and bungled up the difficulty of casual activities and made legendary weapons very weak*

I remember people bailing on me on regular strike when it came up in the Vanguard list. I can only imagine on Nightfall. Zhalo was my first exotic. I was so happy to get it. I don't get that enjoyment in D2. I don't care about half of the exotics at this point. That weapon was awesome.

Not gonna lie, if you know the skips and cheeses… all d1 nightfalls are easy, u can completely skip the bridge at the start, u can go oob and destroy all the siva clusters, boss room has the a god spot and you will always get gold nightfall because of the time bonus you get for completing it quick (not like gold matters anyway) and for this nightfall in particular using chaos dogma adept is better due to it having increased damage to fallen and being arc burn You also mentioned lightswitch nightfall which I’m fairly certain is a modifier that get removed from the nightfalls in roi, you can only get it in story playlist and PoE round modifiers
Seeing how you can easily kill enemies with the primaries makes me wish it was the same for Destiny 2 cause it sucks so much using a pulse rifle or scout or hand cannon, the only good feeling weapon is SMGs
even when this was just a regular strike with those modifiers this strike was punishing as all hell. specially since nowadays we have infinite ammo for primary weapons. with d1 you dont have that luxury anymore. destiny 1 was the most punishing then modifiers were in your opponent's favor.
crazy how much better this game looks when you have a creative team that actually gave a shit. also forgot how cool that IB Titan armor was. all these rehashes and they can't even bring back the best D1 sets.
Big difference is that higher tier content in D2 is just such a slog, every thing one shots you. Watching this made me remember how every death in D1 felt like it was deserved versus getting one shot by a sniper in a grandmaster. I feel like bungie could have gone a lot of different ways to counter healing than just having everything one shot you.
The difference is that in D1 we were much more weak. The reason enemies do so much damage is because spamming restoration, cure, healing on top of 100000 build videos. Enemies are scaled fine.

I remember people bailing on me on regular strike when it came up in the Vanguard list. I can only imagine on Nightfall. Zhalo was my first exotic. I was so happy to get it. I don't get that enjoyment in D2. I don't care about half of the exotics at this point. That weapon was awesome.
The supercell was my favourite exotic auto rifle in D1. Loved using it in trials 🤟
2:42 The poor vandel doing cartwheel flips in mid air having no idea what hit him lols.
man this shit was cancer back in the day lmao, so hard. as a titan, i approve of your titan and hebridean thoughtcrime, goated ship. i miss D1 but i cant play it anymore cuz i have digital PS5 so whenever they announce a time servers are going ill buy it. i do miss this game tho as i said, so much
i fucking love d1 content please dont stop
Not gonna lie, if you know the skips and cheeses… all d1 nightfalls are easy, u can completely skip the bridge at the start, u can go oob and destroy all the siva clusters, boss room has the a god spot and you will always get gold nightfall because of the time bonus you get for completing it quick (not like gold matters anyway) and for this nightfall in particular using chaos dogma adept is better due to it having increased damage to fallen and being arc burn
You also mentioned lightswitch nightfall which I’m fairly certain is a modifier that get removed from the nightfalls in roi, you can only get it in story playlist and PoE round modifiers
Idk what it is about d1 strikes but damn I completely forgot about this one. So many classics
My favourite weapons from D1, the zhalo. Man wish they bring it back
the ogre running at you is lowkey terrifying
Seeing how you can easily kill enemies with the primaries makes me wish it was the same for Destiny 2 cause it sucks so much using a pulse rifle or scout or hand cannon, the only good feeling weapon is SMGs
Bro how fast do you get your abilities back, I forgot how nice d1 looked tho.
Daybreak modifier
I remember when primaries did damage feels so long ago 😢
Destiny 1 will always have that magic!!
They really need to bring back zhalo supercell into destiny 2. Also great video bro.
even when this was just a regular strike with those modifiers this strike was punishing as all hell. specially since nowadays we have infinite ammo for primary weapons. with d1 you dont have that luxury anymore. destiny 1 was the most punishing then modifiers were in your opponent's favor.
On master difficulty duality dungeon i died so many times when i thought invisible ment they can't see you ,i was wrong
The real challenge of playing Destiny is when you get hit with that "Contacting Destiny Servers".
i used to do this with another friend and one of us just hides in a spot on the rocks where they cant hit you it was soo easy
This is beautiful
crazy how much better this game looks when you have a creative team that actually gave a shit. also forgot how cool that IB Titan armor was. all these rehashes and they can't even bring back the best D1 sets.
The shield brothers!!!! I miss the strikes in D1😢
Look at that super recharge, it’s like 4 every 10 mins! How many bubbles did you make in the boss fight alone? I’m lucky get a second super in a Destiny 2 boss fight only if pop it at the very beginning
It’s the daybreak modifier. These are not normal recharge rates.
D1 strikes were amazing
Bro I fucking hated that strike with arc
Great strike and the supercel a great gun. It's still in my top 5. Wish it would come back. Riskrunner and ghoul don't count 😅
Zelo was such a good weapon. Wish they brought that one back !
Warlock self-rez has to come back fr, at least imo, I know speed runners and tryhards will find ways to break every single activity with it but for the solo player, self-rez would be a great addition
can someone tell me the song used in the intro part of this video? I've been looking for it in the all the OSTs for D1 but I can find the name.
deconstruction destiny 1 ost
never played d1 before but goddamn does this look so much more fun compare to the seasonal boring grounds
im really confused, what makes d1 more difficult than d2?
Fk this nightfall in particular. I did bond brothers for fun, but this ones 3rd phase was sum BUUUULLLLL!
ran this for record with a friend we got a 2:43. i don't really agree about it being a difficult strike
How come it looks so smooth. I tried playing the other day and only got like 30 frames per second.
i still run the D1 nightfalls when the modifiers are easy. Wretched Eye is one that i always skip, regardless of the modifiers.
Bruh ain’t no way 😭 you’d be crazy to play like that in Destiny 2, the difference in aggression is crazy
Everything about D1 is lovely and great.story gameplay clothes weapons
super recharge rate is crazy in d1
its the "daybreak modifier" for this nightfall. This is not normal recharge rates
@@NovemberHotel That makes MUCH more sense lmao. Thanks, never played D1 and didn't think to pause for the modifiers lol.
Man i miss destiny 1 i really d2 stuck with this artstyle
The nearest thing we have on D2 is the corrupted and training grounds those are a pain for me
Warlocks used to come back to life !!?!???
i never played D1, what's recharging bubble that quickly? that's some crazy charge times
