    Do you think you will try this with your next pdf project?

    Love this idea!! I need to re do some of my PDFs and I’m definitely gonna try this. I’m curious. Which program are you faster in? Indesign or Keynote?
    I’m thinking that since my PDFs are already designed in InDesign, that would probably be quickest/easiest.

      I find indesign easiest, I don't know i thats just because I am most comfortable designing in Adobe, but of you already have your original files in indesign, yes would probably be a lot faster to just update it in indesign. You can update the master pages, and that will speed up the process a lot.

    Thank you for this wonderful idea! How do you make sure that the people getting/reading the ebook can use the interactive elements but that they cannot accidently "mess around" in the PDF document (like change the size of graphics , delete or change text...)?
    Is there a way of securing the document, for example saving it as an image, but keeping the interactive elements?

      Make sure you save your pdf as a flattened pdf.

    This is great! I'm a graphic designer and the company I'm applying for asks for my portfolio in pdf format and with navigation. I feel that's kind of outdated since everithing is online now, and I rarely use InDesign, this helped me out a ton, thanks!

    This is exactly what I was looking for! You wouldn't be willing to sell a bundle of tabs would you? Maybe sets of 7, 12, 15, and 25?

    this was cool, thank you! But just for clarification you can't do the tabs directly in Adobe, you have to use Canva or Keynote? I saw a document once that was in landscape with tabs at the top. That's probably how I'd do it. Thanks again!

      You can design the tabs in Canva, Keynote, InDesign or other design software. But then you add the links in Adobe Acrobat. You can add the tabs up the top or side or both, the design is totally up to you.

      Try in Adobe Acrobat. Edit > add content> video> select where you want on page> upload file

    What about for the interior pages? How do you add the tabs and links to those? (I'm looking at a file with ~400 pages)

    • @tabithaemma
      @tabithaemma  10 місяців тому

      In Adobe Acrobat, you select all the links, copy them (command+C or control+c) then go through each page and paste (command+V or Control+v)

    Very cool. Is there a way to integrate this with exisiting PDFs? We have a bunch of material we're looking to combine and would love to be able to integrate this feature. TIA!

    • @tabithaemma
      @tabithaemma  4 місяці тому

      It depends which features you want to add. If you just want to add clickable links and fillable sections you can do that on existing pdfs in Acrobat. But if you want to add extra elements to the design such as tabs, you will need to edit the original file, or you could create pages with the new tabs and just paste the pdf pages in. Either way, adding tabs will be a bit more work.

      Thanks! I'm playing with buttons now and using the Duplicate across all pages feature now. It'll do the trick but definitely not as beautiful as your work! Great inspiration!

    I have journals that I’ve publish to kdp & want to turn them into to be interactive journals to publish on kdp Ebook section. So people can write digitally. Do you have a video on that?

    I was watching your video and saw that you were using multi programs. Can you build this in just 1 single program and not go back and forth. I don't have access to anything but PDF and office 365. If I have to buy a program to build this I would like only have to buy 1. What are your suggestions on which program would be able to do this? Thanks

    • @tabithaemma
      @tabithaemma  4 місяці тому

      You need a program to design it in and Adobe to add the links. Although you can also add links in some design software. If you have office, you could design it in PowerPoint and add links inside PowerPoint. Otherwise you can use the free version of Canva.

    Hi there do you know if I can make an interactive digital journal with your template?

    • @tabithaemma
      @tabithaemma  Місяць тому

      What type of interactivity do you want? If it’s something people can write in and add images and use on something like Goodnotes, yes you could use my tabs template to add tabs to different sections of the journal.

    What platform are you using to import the PDF (once you make it fillable) into an ebook? Every program I found takes away the ability for people to edit it. I want it to look like a book instead of a PDF form someone looks at.

    • @tabithaemma
      @tabithaemma  4 місяці тому

      Just keep it as a pdf, don’t turn it into anything else. You can open it and use it in any pdf reader. Such as acrobat, notability or goodnotes.

    • @tabithaemma
      @tabithaemma  8 місяців тому

      Yes you can. In acrobat edit pdf>link>add or edit link>select where you want link on page>select ‘open a web page’>add your link
