Hired a professional to format for e-book and print book for KDP. Was a bit surprised they gave them back to me in MS Word. Although MS Word and KDP's size selections are the same, I've been chasing issues for days. The good new is after looking at the files several dozen more times I corrected some of the "pros" formatting to make it more visually appealing. Found your channel today and have been enjoying the content.
I don't mind paying Kotobee. However, after already spending money for something that didn't work I just want to be sure it will solve the problem. I'm working 60 hour weeks so anything with a long learning curve isn't an option. In KDP the biggest issue is the text on some pages starting one line down instead of the top. I remove that space and of course it changes the text in the rest of the document. It then creates "widows" and more pages one line down from the top of the page.
I published my first book today and you were the perfect guide. Thank you.

Do you recommend converting MS Word to epub in Kotobee, or in Draft2Digital, or in KDP?
I haven't formatted and uploaded an ebook to KDP since last year. Do they still have Kindle Create?
Your book formatting course recommends and is built around Adobe InDesign, with no mention of Kotobee. I'm trying to evaluate which of these formatting options would be better for my needs and wondering how well Kotobee stacks up against Vellum, Atticus, and InDesign.
The book formatting course is just intended to teach you how to format using Adobe InDesign. The name "Adobe InDesign" is in the title of the course
@@MandiLynnWrites Yes, I get that. I'm trying to decide whether Kotobee is adequate for my needs, or if I need to go full-on InDesign. Your marketing video says that InDesign is better than Vellum, Atticus, or Word, but does not address how it compares to Kotobee. That's why I asked.

How to hyperlink a dedication page without a heading? I mean without writing a title of dedication on the dedication page????

I have been using Kotobee for a few years and have the most up to date version, but recently it has been frustrating exporting to Kindle devices like scribe or even kindle for iPad, with chapters and sub chapters showing incorrectly or not at all in the contents pane. Has this ever happened to you?
I still use Kotobee and haven't had any issues. I'd reach out to their customer service.
Ok, everything is fine. I wonder how favored this kotobee is. In other words, what percentage of the e-book reader audience knows this system. Anyone know about this? If the purpose is only to read, it does not seem necessary at first glance.
You can use it to format ebooks for epub to upload to websites like KDP, you just have to make sure the ebook doesn't have interactive elements. The interactive elements (likes quizes and videos) only work in kotobee
