Sofia Boutella really looked at this campy script and said 'You know what, I'm going to act my face off and deliver an absolutely fantastic performance.' It's honestly the only thing in the movie worth watching.
Actually, recalling all the glass back to its original sand is clever. In the running scene, you can tell Cruise is holding back to not leave blondie in the dust.
There’s nothing wrong for making remakes and doing something different (The only problem is according to the interview, and what people heard said Tom Cruise pretty much ruined it) Though I wish it could be good ω 🤷♀️
Aside from that, he is playing a character that isn’t Ethan from Mission Impossible so he can’t run top speed for this character, Nick. And yes, for the actress to stay along with him. However you have to admit that she can run fast in those shoes.
So they basically sentenced those guards at 2:04 to death by literally locking the door behind them. Did they have to stay? Couldn't closing the door have been enough?
Honestly sofias performance was the only thing keeping me. She looked stunning as the princess and epic as the demonic dead version of her. This could have been great. Tom? No.
You know what?!?!?..... I cannot argue with you on that one. In fact if I were in the room and dudes all "no I cant" I'd be in the back jumping up and down with my hand in the air and pointing at myself
My bet's are on Imhotep, simply because of how their regenerative abilities work. Ahmanet feel's pain, she takes sustained damage, when she is injured it lingers and builds up like a regular human would and requires mortals to regen from in order to keep from becoming too weak. Imhotep feels no pain and has no such problem, even in his weakest state being injured is only a annoyance and pushes him back for a few seconds before he regens on the spot. All Imhotep has to do is just cripple and wear her down and it's over. There's very little ahmanet can do that Imhotep can't already do and probably do it better and there's a lot Imhotep can do that ahmanet can't. That and right out box Imhotep can fight. Ahmanet while as dangerous is incredibly weak and vulnerable until she consumes enough mortals.
@@hailstormrising1634 She only felt pain because of the mercury used on her. When Tom Cruise stabbed her leg with a wrench, she didn’t even flinch and seemed to be just annoyed by the fact that her chosen one tried to stab her.
This is by far the best movie I've seen since it came out. Absolutely hands down my favorite. She played an amazing roll exquisitely and Tom crus is completely different in this movie... amazingly executed. The director and Cree are phenomenal in the making of this movie. Judt amazing 👏
I hate that they contractually gave him power over the movie. He indeed made it about him and not the mummy. Comedy and playing an A-hole with a heart of gold isn't his talent. He's not Charlie from All Dogs Go to Heaven 😂
Say what you will about this movie but you have to admit that was pretty clever of them to use the glass as that dark sandstorm considering most glass is made from sand
It’s so funny how they mixed up the streets during the Sand Storm, Cannon Street is not next to the House of Parliament and the Albert and Victoria museum is not next to the Bank of England 😅
Got to say 1 of my gripes with this movie set was the god of chaos in Egyptian mythology not death though set being chosen makes sense at least get the god job title right

Wasn't Tom Cruise pinned to act in the 1999 Mummy? And did he turn it down? I heard that story somewhere. Or maybe I confused it with something else. I don't know.
She basically reduced glass to its original form: sand. Very clever use of the mummy’s powers in the middle of a city thousands of miles from a desert.
Moxie Maxie she hadn't fully recovered when they captured her and therefore wasn't at full strength. She summons this power after she drains that last guy and fully replenishes her body.
This was suppose to be its own thing, a launch of the "Dark Cinemas" I think it was. At this point we already had a Dracula and Wolfman remake, it was an aim at bringing life back to the old skool monsters. This movie ended up tanking it lol.

Tom Cruise? No thanks. I'd rather rewatch The Mummy movies with Brendan Frazier and Rachel Weisz. And that luscious Oded Fehr as the Medjai.
