White Bones, Gray Bones, "Bones Black" are a PVC based material. The Gray Bones and "Bones Black" have a higher amount of the hardener in the PVC, making them more rigid and able to hold more detail. Bones USA I'm not sure what it is, but it behaves more like a resin than a PVC based material. It also can take AMAZING amounts of undercuts, and undercuts with detail IN the undercuts, something even metal has trouble with (such as the sash being visible between the beard and the cloak).
Oh, and they weren't digitally remastered, but completely resculpted using the same concept art and the originals as another reference. Oh, and Reaper doesn't say the minis don't need to be WASHED, they say they don't need to be PRIMED.

Oh, and I suspect the amount of mold flash on figures will drop as they get used to the amount of pressure needed for creating the molds and casting the figures. And there are several figures available, many of which were additional cyberpunk style from RVE earlier in the year (though not actually part of the figures from RVE). The figures (save two) from the Reaper Virtual Expo were also in Bones USA, and it is very likely the upcoming Reapercon figures will be as well.

It's not that the plastic has a higher amount of hardener. PVC is quite hard and brittle when pure. To make it soft and flexible you add some plasticisers, up to 50% for an extremely flexible PVC.
Problem is, most of these plasticisers are quite nasty chemicals and the tendancy is to ban them for use.
Also these plasticisers make the plastic retract more and that's why PVC minis have generaly less details than HIPS minis (the ones where you have to glue them together, like GW minis or Malifaux)

Bones USA seems like whatever Gale Force Nine uses, although my only experience with GF9 minis is the ones that come in the Army Painter Nolzur's Pigments sets, very nice quality though compared to the usual Wizkids Pre-primed with 10 layers minis that I buy

That wizard miniature reminds me of Merin from Disney's The Sword In The Stone!
