I think another factor is that the game is less immersive, because they remove all the challanges. First you think it's handy, but nobody wants to play a game that's easy, you want to be challanged. It's all those small things, like removing the area-bound trailers, being able to take care of your horse eveywhere, your horse not getting hungry, thirsty or dirty after some time, your horse not slowing down on it's own, not having to wait after jumps to jump again. With the global store no one runs around the map to buy new stuff anymore. Also most items cost 10k shillings and thats the limit. You cannot own more than 10k so you are forced to buy items with sc, if you dont want to wait an eternity to make that money in game. I also hugely agree with the lore being more directed towards children. I have a secondary account on which i can play the old quests and they feel much more authentic and are written towards a wide range of customers, but when playing new quests i feel like a child. Addionally, when sso does add new content it tends to be something like races or daily quests to keep their players occupied, but i have been doing races in this game for the past 4 years, i dont need any more races. I guess if you are a new player you will enjoy the huge map and the old quests though and you will have a lot to work through until the game gets boring. Great video!
Also sso used to release a new area every year, now it took them years to release mistfall and wildwoods which are such small areas and feel extremely underwhelming. Sure they are pretty, but after an hour of gameplay you feel like you've discovered everything as they are so small. The game has been online for ten years and they still have only released about one fourth of the map. Sadly i feel like we wont be getting any new areas soon.
Wholeheartedly agree with all of this! I miss when the horses would slow down naturally if you didn't press the button to keep their speed up.
We have sooo many races I think it's enough for now really. I'd rather they focus on working on other disciplines instead of basic cross contry or show jumping. I think more disciplines could add the engagement factor we are missing, if they can make it challenging then definitely. Doing the same old races gets tiring quickly.
@@cristinadragonvalley7448 They also appear really empty. Mistfall has some content, but wildwoods is only daily grind stuff. I stopped playing Wildwoods content after 1 week, it was soooo boring. Shame, because the map is pretty.
But also +1 to everything that has been said here. I was disappointed how there's no reason to take a ferry or bus anymore. They were a fun feature and encouraged exploring the map.
Hi, I would just like to address the part where you say that 10k JS would take "an eternity" to make in game - sorry, but I have to disagree here somewhat. If you have the Epona archaeology unlocked and regularly gather all the 4 exchangeable items from the "extra-interesting sites" (which can sometimes earn you as much as several thousand JS per day), plus if you also participate in championships at least fairly often (by which I mean at least 3-4 times a day on average - so even championshipping only during the weekend can be enough), then it can actually take only several days of playing for you to make 10,000 JS. Even less if you have the opportunity to play more often and/or there is an SSO event - for example, with the Equestrian Festival that offers various extra JS rewards, I realised I can sometimes make 10,000 JS within a single day if I'm playing really actively. I've bought really a lot of clothing and gear at the festival, currently about 15+ items, most of which were either 10,000 JS or close to that, and everything was for JS that I myself earned (except for one item that I really wanted and that could only be bought with SC).
Of course, by far not everyone has always time to play actively enough and by far not everyone has the Epona archaeology unlocked, but that's a bit off the point I'm trying to make (which is on a more general level). Even the Dino Valley archaeology can earn you a decent amount of JS per day (several hundreds if you're lucky).
I'd also be careful with the statement that "most items cost 10k JS". I'm sorry, but that is simply not true. Yes, if we're only talking about the gear with the highest stats, then indeed, much of that does cost 10k JS (or is only for SC) - but I'd not even say these items represent the majority of the best gear. You can find much of the gear with the best stats for, say, 6,000-8,000 JS or even less, depending on what kind of gear it is. Whether it has the design and colour you would like to have, that is, of course, a different matter already.
However, with all that being said, I definitely wish that the 10,000 JS limit were removed and we could simply have as much JS in our inventory as we've earned and there were no limit (or at least that there were a higher limit, say, 100,000 JS). Also, it is true that recently I've seen quite a few very overpriced items, such as the Silver Baroque ribbon for 8,000 JS or 80 SC or earrings for 6,000 JS - which is really a lot, considering that these are just accessories that don't raise your stats anyhow.
I agree, and also the horse market. Now you don't have to move to somewhere else to see all their colors, and the ice icon. Now horses who are raised in cold places aren't special anymore
I really miss things like less fast travel, don't having a global store or old buses. Imo it used to make the game more engaging. Now, I just teleport to the quest similar to the others, skip the boring dialogue and keep my XP. Eventually I can do the common race on car-horse.
That's how I see this game after 8 years
Even if we couldn't use them I wish the buses showed up, honestly some mkre cars on the road would make the game feel a bit more alive.
The prizes they give you for reputation? It's only clothes...MONTHS I spend on running around either the dino valley or epona for CLOTHES. At this point I think they should change it up a bit and give the players star coins for the harder challenges or main story quests - it's just not good enough right now.
Reputation really is a sad grind for a few more quests and a few extra shillings cause the clothes tend to be crap anyway or look bad, some look nice but have bad stats, others look good and have good stats but you have to grind for them. Reputation is just horrible all around really.
@@huntermoonhearth I really with it was worth something but no, not really...gotta love sso
Honestly, I love that it's clothes lol It's one of the older challenges and SSO's first one! I think they did a good one of the valley tbh. Epona could have something different, I won't lie.
the downfall of this game is so sad to me, i’ve been playing since 2012 so i’ve grown up with the game, its sad to see how a game can change from magical, cozy, heartwarming, spooky, engaging and overall beautiful game to a dull, boring, money collecting, child-friendly, uncared about game. the lore and story of the game is what really grabbed me into it, it was so unique and i was so interested in it. now it’s just shambles, they’ve replaced all the original npcs into ugly gen-z, child friendly robots. for example… the new lisa? like ewwww. the game just feels dead now… they’ve replaced everything that connected us old players to it and it’s so upsetting. i also miss the cosy vibe of the old graphics, the old sunset, how dark it would be at night… now the graphics just remind me of barbie. i could go on for hours about this subject. i wish i could own the sso company and fix this all
As a player who started the game in 2015 and took a break from 2019 up until now, it really feels like StarStable, as well as it’s team have lost their shine or passion, instead using it more as a money generator.
My advice to someone considering this game would be to join up in a few years. I feel right now that we're in an odd transition stage due to tech debt and the fact that I believe they are trying to update mechanics. They have a lot to work out before they improve and I believe the whole game will change dramatically (I think for the better) in a few years. Currently there is no pull unless you really REALLY like horses.
Great video, really well thought out. Looking forward to seeing more :)
Yes! I definitely think we are in a transition stage to modernize the game (if you seen the horse progression beta and the new UI) they definitely are working on it.
Thank you for watching!
Firstly thank you for your patients as my laptop goes through her edgy phase of life wanting to die and shit.
Secondly. SSO has come out with a statement on how they have 2 teams, one for horses and 1 for EVERYTHING ELSE. It was apart of the March Blog. Everything else entails, races, clothes, quests (side and main) revamping the championships, the character update and horse progression system. There is a lack of proper management which we saw in the glass door reviews.
Bugs are apart of every game, true but when every update comes with a new bugs or making old ones worse, that is a problem.
Hopefully I have covered ever important thing, I am sure I have missed some small stuff but yeah. Thanks for reading and watching see ya in the next one!
as an sso player since 2014 i feel as though the magic was lost when well the sso creators stopped careing they used to be kind and cared what the players actually wanted but now they are money driven. I used to enjoy questing the storyline was immersive and interesting and it made me want to play now I skip through the npc's lines and get bored so quickly. We are not given a choice in quests I always feel as though we are just someone the npc's can make us do things we don't get a say in what we do we are meant to be part of their like friendship group it doesn't feel like that at all it feels as though we r just there for the sake of being there. Horses used to have personality and they felt real now they feel like motorbikes that r just bunch of pixels which they are but they didn't use to feel like that. The community has shifted massively and it feels like there is no older people playing anymore like me, it is mostly little kids . Sso don't care about older players oh no no no they only care about the younger new players like are we even relevant to them anymore? (answer no). On their help section it literally says if u have and ideas for our game please note you probably wont get a reply this shows the do not care about what the PLAYERS the people who literally now what sso is like they don't care what we think would benefit the game the do not care what we think at all . Sc are way to expensive I have played since 2014 I have 13 horses I wait for the weekly sc I am not buying sc anymore there is simply no point I am not gonna spend my hard earned money on a what now feels like a kids game when I can spend it on things for my horse in real life that means so so so etc much more to me then any game would.
anyway sorry for the rant lol bye
also soz for the spelling mistakes i wrote this quite quickly XD
All valid points. Don't worry about any spelling errors I mess up my spelling all the time 😅.
The only thing I slightly disagree with is when you said you can email them ideas but you might not get a reply and it shows they don't care. SSO is still a company and from what I can tell still has a small team even though it is a company, so not getting a reply is common. I can totally understand why it might seem they don't care they do little in actually taking player feedback and ideas, I might just be a bit optimistic about them at least sharing the ideas. The people taking emails have to prioritize emails based on emergency (least that is how it should be) so player ideas are low on the list, but I am sure among the people that take emails some do mention ideas to higher ups to an extend, from the glass door reviews it is well known management doesn't really seem to care about bettering the game, only money and since management tends to be running things player ideas will get shafted for money. I am positive if it was up to the developers or anyone left at the company that actually cares player ideas would come into the game a bit more.
@@huntermoonhearth so true i cant wait to see if they do expand there team to maybe even coleuges form different countries love this video btw x
@@horsegal1476 Ty! I couldn't agree more. It seems they really need a bigger team to work on things in so many different areas.
I love your disclaimer. I like being able to hear an honest and concise opinion, and I have gotten that from you. I have been playing this game for a while, and you hit a lot of my annoyances with said game right on the mark. They have removed so much that was good, and added things that make no sense and were not asked for. When I see the sneak peeks and what we are doing for you now's, I just shake my head. I have heard this all before, and the promises never get fulfilled. Thank you for putting it all out there. I spent most of the video nodding my head along with all the points you made.
Glad to hear, I spent a while just playing to analyzing this game for this script, happy to see others agree and it didn't go to waste.
It is a shame though, I love this game and I don't fault the company for making changes for a new audience, but they are throwing older players under the bus, basically abandoning them for new players. There are so many other ways they could change the game between the two but they are going about it the wrong way.
I love videos like this, where older players just talk about the game. I’m 22. Been playing since 12 years old in 2013. I always love hearing other older players share their opinions. I’m sick of the influencers like SSO United, who push kiddy, “buy new horses” content around the clock. I understand she’s probably got a good hustle ($$) from that content… but the toxic positivity in the community is out of control.
Yeah I am fed up with both kinds of content creators for sso. The overly positive or the overly negative. I want some middle ground I can enjoy aspects of the game but give criticism where it is needed, it doesn't have to be one or the other.
The newest Anne quest was only a little bit after rescuing her (if you haven’t finished the story)
With that out the way with though, I feel like the main story is great! Unfortunately it’s also been forgotten. We never go back to it after you’re done. I think the only reason some people stay on is if they’re in a club because it’s usually a dedication to be active and attend events.
Probably the only time they ever listened to players for a while was changing the Morgan coats. I also really wish we would get our star coins back after selling a horse.
I think if they added more breeds there are some I’d really like to see such as maybe a Falabella or an Irish Sport Horse or even a Shetland! One thing I do agree with you on though is that the older gen3 horses are the best made. I don’t know if the team changed or they changed the way they made the horses but they just don’t feel as good anymore. Gaits are obviously reused, bases are just slightly altered and recoloured (nothing wrong, they just don’t always use the best bases for that breed), sometimes the breed just looks like a larger version of another instead of the breed it’s meant to be.
Also, I feel like almost all the ‘big new things’ like the dressage we get tomorrow, the new characters, the horse personality traits, the breeding, the horse progression system, they all sound amazing and really fun but I feel like, as usual, when we actually get them, they’ll be badly made or they’ll just turn out disappointing because sso will have made it seem like such a big, exciting thing and when it doesn’t meet the standards that they’ve set, we’re just like ‘oh. It’s alright I guess but they made it sound so much better…’. That’s usually how it goes anyway. They’ve already postponed the next beta test for the new characters because of all the negative feedback they got on the first one with things such as ‘they look weird on the horses’, ‘the idle animations don’t look good at all’, ‘they look like oversized toddlers’, etc.
The reused models annoy me the most specially if they don't alter the animation from whatever breed they used (knabs and andas)
I was talking for a friend and they recently finished the warden quest where we water the flower and asked if there is anything else after, and when I said no they said they were bummed cause they enjoy the story.
@@huntermoonhearth exactly! They feed us story then give us nothing from it so what’s the point of giving us the story?
the main story would be great if they kept it canon. the main story of the game is different in all places where thr game is available. and now even in the game itself. lisa used to be a punk rock artist but now suddenly she’s into country?? also in starstable books, series (mistfall), older games the storyline is different which makes it impossible to theorize or understand the lore
I have joined this game just for the horses. Because I wouldn't be able to ride horses often, so this game would help me feel like I was with horses even though i wasn't. With the horses, they come out with a breed(Updated or new) every month. And there is around 7-10 horses within that breed. If your like me you want them all, meaning you will spend all your star coins and have to buy more. I am somewhat smart and get star coins on double star coin weekends. Star Stable needs to change, $70 for only 5000 star coins meaning only 5 horses in the game.. This needs to be stopped!!
Yeah since the price increase even double star coin weekend doesn't seem valuable. Noted the prices have always been expensive, but the horses don't even feel worth it for the money in the end for some people.
@@huntermoonhearth but there are no more double batches of horse coats now, so I guess that's a positive.
@@carlynandjazzy True! Man I remember having to wait for my favorite coat to be released a few weeks later after the breed.
you put much heart into this so here take mine as a reward
Honestly, StarStable should just stop at this point. There is almost no way they can rescue their game... they are running out of ideas and on an outdated engine and all the stuff you mentioned is a big factor too. Yes, they are those (especially the younger folks) who love the game regardless and it still has a place in my heart too but... I feel like it's somewhat over. I honestly don't expect them to succeed in saving this game, so... I know it's harsh and the star stable crew may love the game as well, but they (in my opinion) have no other option than either make a new (better & NOT money-hungry!) game or just finally let go of it all... Both options would be a huge pain and a great loss of money for players but it would be for the best.
Sadly SSO is a cash cow for the company and the only thing keeping it afloat I think. The only other thing I can think of that they have is books and I doubt they are making as much money as the game does. They should invest in merchandise to sell, toys and plushies not just books, maybe clothes and stickers. Another way to bring in money. I honestly wonder where the hell our money is going from the game cause it certainly doesn't seem like it is going back into the game sometimes.
@@huntermoonhearth Have you seen their office? I think there and parties of corporate about how they successfully (I'm sorry, but) somewhat scam children / their parents and others of their hard-earned money. It's getting ridiculous! Like, 80 dollars for that? That is much more than a fully developed title (like I don't know... Legend of Zelda for example) and that does not even take the waaayyy too pricy SC into account. Speaking of my own experience (and I think maybe many others) but even without buying SC you spend so much more than those 80 dollars right? Could be just me but I had the subscription for a long long time before buying the one-time pay thing. That's way too much money even for a good game. A real pain that it grew into the mess it is today. Sadly so many people are unfortunately still buying everything...
@@chaoslinki I haven't seen their office actually, is there a video? I tend to only watch event trailers and horse trailers on their channel and sometimes listen to the new podcasts they do. I heard they have a custome fripp statue ao I guess that's whete the money goes? Sad. Yeah the pay one is more cheap in the long run even for $80. Compared to full fledged solo games SSO definitely isn't worth the $80, the story isn't even finished after all this time. I think they never really had a direction in the first place compared to other MMO's that have their story made up and ready to go and just need to implement it.
@@huntermoonhearth In their HQ they have a Custom made Starshine & a custom-made Fripp statue, murals, scooters, big runestone statues(?), REAL! horse tack on their walls (minimum of 4 saddles, bridles, saddle pads - hella expensive), judging by their Instagram they are always on field trips and doing stuff. SSO has the money for all that, music, books, the show, etc. but just can't seem to fix their game because they don't want to change their great lifestyle of something. Their problem: Money can't buy ideas.
@@chaoslinki That ending. "Money can't buy ideas."
That is just sad. Sounds like higher ups only wanna splurge the money away instead of developing the game and improving it! I would never suggest spending money on this game till it improves, specially if our money is going to office luxurious and not back into the game. 🤦
i created a new acc in like winter of 2021 and i got to level 18 in a week. sure i did play a lot but i got to level 18 without grinding reputation. all main story quests has been altered to be more ”child friendly” and less scary so the story is much shorter now
That's disappointing.
God this is so sad
I've been off sick from work with COVID the last 10 days playing sso and I've been playing a solid 5-6 hours a day doing quests, races, etc, and I'm only level 10. So I don't believe that you got to level 18 in a week unless you played literally 24/7.
@@sarahc.401 no i actually did. that’s the crazy part. it was during the break. and originally i wanted to see how quickly i could level up to level 10 in the game so the first few days i grinded. so i was on level 10 in like 2 or 3 days. and also i have another acc in level 22 so i know the quests and i skipped thru most of the storyline bcs they were so boring now. either way. i did reach level 18 in a week, i unlocked epona, mistfall, dinovalley, golden hills and harvest counties. i also didn’t pay for the starrider bcs since it was during winter i used the code from the calendar after my 3 free days had passed
@@sarahc.401 also i didn’t do any races. i only spent my time online on xp quests.
The game was magical when I joined in like 2015 and bought star Fišer for first time but lately it’s meh, nothing much to do
SSO does allow you to get Star Coins for free, but its more like you have to login to your account on the website and internet surf every single day to find new redeem codes for that month. I learned recently that if you type in too many expired codes they'll lock you out for ~30 minutes, on top of the rule that you can only redeem a code once per minute, even if the code is unredeemable. It's just the cherry on top to make you cave in and pay for their crypto currency.
Also, I want to add on that its not just SSO, but a lot of games-- especially mobile games, have gotten EXTREMELY greedy over the course of 10 years. Maybe its just cause I'm older and I understand more and games have always been like that, but I think we've let big business and greedy companies run their course for way too long. Games are meant to be fun, and not stressing about your next paycheck in game, or wait "x" amount of time until you can collect "y" before you can move on to "a" and "b" tasks that will allow you to do finally do "z" mission which only lasts about 5 minutes.
I don't count redeem codes anymore because redeem codes for star coins tend to come once a year around winter, twice if they feel nice on their birthday.
Yeah games (specially phones games) have grown greedy and it sucks, exploit desperate players, specially in the horse loving world. We have no realn100% decent/decently made horse games for mmo's that are more modern with nice graphics. (Yes i know graphics don't make the game) bur it certainly helps when you rely on visuals like me and I like pretty things. XD SSO does have nice graphics now (minus the areas that still needed updated.) But the story is... yeah.
I just want a nice horse game with a good story and no crap rng system of some sort, with a nice world to explore.. SSO gives me like a quarter of that now.
I started playing in 2017, bought Lifetime Star Rider roughly a day or two of joining. These days I take regular breaks from the game to save up Star Coins and also because I get burnt out quickly with this game, some of the reputation blockers take a long time to lift and even then sometimes they're not rewarding enough for the time spent. I returned recently for the updated characters and so far I'm having a good time. minus the fact that my horses are absolutely miserable. It'll take a week to make them all happy but what if I stop playing for a while again? They'll be back to being miserable! I have plenty of Star Coins but I've missed out on a handful of events and horses, especially the unicorn... I'm sad about that. I'm feeling pressured to buy certain types of horses with these new Championship/Race quests popping up requiring certain breeds. I know I will buy them eventually just to get the yellow exclamation mark off of my map. Speaking of championships, the new ones show up like they're going to be regular daily races on my map - it confuses me every time. I hope they change that. I also hope they'll increase the Jorvik Shillings cap because 10k is ridiculously low for the prices they're selling their clothing/tack for....
This video was super interesting, I left the sso Community a long time ago, (when mistfall came out I believe?) and coming back now and its just the same lol
I'm disappointed about the story tho, it was one of star stables strong points and I'm sad to see it become so mainstream and digestible to newer audiences, im glad so many others like u feel the same
Defo subscribing as I'm excited to see ur future content !!
Star stable helps me with my mental health and I also have laptop problems too
It is a nice escape for sure.
Personally i have been wanting sso for years and I just downloaded it on my phone and i do not yet have the pay once subscription but in the way if updates instead of weekly there should be a update 3-5 months that gives proper testing time bug fixes prior to official release of said update and a good amount of time to make the horse models animations quest scripting and have different teams for quest making and the scripting horse making and whatever else needs to be done and now I understand what all this uproar is about “save sso” or some of it
Yeah I have never seen a company not have a decent set of organization. SSO definitely is lacking, they even confessed to only have 2 teams and one of them does everything that isn't horses, it needs to broken up more for sure, proper storyboarding, and time to test things, ontop of fixing all the bugs. Honestly it is a pipe dream I don't see happening sadly.
18:29 I recently came across a mobile game called Star Equestrian, which feels a lot like a baby rival for sso. It's still rather new, but I see a lot of little things on it that players on sso have been asking for (horse sounds, horse stamina, etc). It has quests and competitions (which you complete as you wish), and searching for herbs and plants in the terrain to feed your horse... Pretty nice stuff. It needs some work, but it's still a pretty good little game. Just don't expect, like, Tennessee Walker/Belgian Warmblood kind of quality horses.
I've kept my eye on it. Sadly can't play it on my phone but it does look a bit promising. Like you said still new, so could go down the drain, but any competitors would be good.
There are so many things wrong with SSO and the community.
To start off, the game:
1 - The game has no content at ALL. As stated, once you hit the endgame and have no more quests, all you can do is daily quests and races. It gets so repetitive so easily.
2 - The events are the same, every year. The only problem is that each year is a new event currency. If you're going to recycle every aspect of the event, might as well make the currency the same too. There's no point in making players grind for virtual items that were there last year, and the year before, and the year before that, and the year before those, etc.
3 - The quests are gone. If we're lucky, we get a story quest every 9 months. At this rate I could get married and have a child before the next story quest comes out. It's insane. The new players don't experience the same storyline as the older players which creates a gap between the community.
4 - Earning. It takes 4 hours to earn 5000 Jorvik Shillings (as stated in the video) which is insane. I can't even buy two items with that. There's no way to earn Star Coins. I get that they're supposed to be a special currency used to buy horses, but it's ridiculous I have to pay $32 to get one pixel horse on a normal day. The deals for star coins aren't special anymore either. Every weekend it's double star coins. Every event there's special deals. It's just predictable.
Now onto the community:
1 - It's gotten so toxic. There's fighting all the time. I'm just tired of it.
2 - There's dangerous people online. Today me and some members and the club I'm in were harassed by someone who refused to stop. The SSO customer support is very hard to get in touch with because of how little people they have working.
This comment was held for review for some reason sorry about that.
I think SSO will be sticking to event tokens so players will be able to save for next year, was just a shame because the Winter Wishes had more depth and feeling to them then winter tokens, same for the other events, Soul Shards are fun! I like them over the tokens , wish they would have kept them.
Everything else about your comment is spot on.
I remember being younger and really wanting to get this game but it's always been very expensive for what it is, I came back to it now as I'd love to try it out but I saw the 71$ price to be able to play without having to pay every now and again and it's just crazy , as you'd have to spend even more later just to be able to get horses and accessories etc etc. For a game that costs that much you'd be expecting better story, graphics and overall gameplay + since it's targeted as a simpler game for many ages I can't see why it would cost so muchh, you can get way better graphics and story rich games with the same amount that are worth it , if it was free and you only had to buy the in game content (such as specific horses etc.) or atleast be cheaper:/ I don't think i'll be getting it this video helped me decide too so thank you! Saved my almost 80 $
Yes! I always will advise doing thorough research before buying anything, especially games with such a high price tag. There definitely are better games, even games that feature horses but aren't horse game specific. I ma glad I was able to helped,I hope you find something fun and enjoy it.
@@huntermoonhearth Agreed , if I was younger too id 100% have bought it 😭 , just wish there was a better option like star stable for a game , difficult to find good ones for this genre , horse games are lacking quality alot of the time
Right, they could at least makes quests or things to gain star coins but it's just sad that you can only get SC by paying
@@keyen2334 Right! Other games do it and still make millions so sso has no excuse.
I normally play star stable just for the horses nowadays, I have a whole wishlist of horses that I want to buy but I can't afford to buy starcoins so I normally just log off and wait a month to earn starcoins because the quests aren't that fun, most of them are just running back and forth or trailoring back and between places. What I think star stable needs to do (I know the won't) is shut down their servers and reboot/redo some of SSO, to help salvage it at least. They need to take back some of these updates (like no slowing down after pressing w, and even though I love it take away global store and make us run to the bus and boat to reach the mall and South Hoof! (and I didnt even play during those times and I miss those things)). Another Thing is they need to get off their money hungry thrones and lower their darn prices, this is a childrens game and children and their parents dont always want to pay +30 dollars for a game about horses. Also in my dream reboot, they make things harder and more exciting, they actually make interesting quests and all that! So SSO either reboot or go into your gen4 era, whatever but make your game actually good again..
I know what you mean I got to get another Laptop also because I got Malware on my Operating System thanks to Star Stable . My mom says NO GAMING LAPTOP COMPUTERS .WE NEED ONE FOR HOME/BUSINESS .
Sso vibe is less mysterious now
Yeah, I feel like if they built up tension or even built up interations it would do some good, I am interested to know more about the vala witch but I doubt it will be anywhere near where I would want it to be, the introduction to the vala felt a bit rushed for me.
Not to mention another problem with weekly updates, they depend to much on it. If the update ain't big than you may have close to nothing to do for another week. This makes it bored to play sso and people stop logging in. This is one reason why I dislike ppl who say players should be greatful they even get weekly updates when other have to wait for months for their. The thing is, those games normally have stuff to do inbetween the updates.
The game is very boring to me lately, just like you say. I barely go on anymore other than to buy a horse and that's what it is now, a horse collection game... you buy horses for them to look pretty in your collection. Not to mention the horses feel kind of robotic to me, but I don't know how to really explain it. They are pretty, though. So no, I don't recommend the game right now unless you want to spend a lot of money or a lot of time getting Star Coins to buy pretty looking, but robotic-like horses and that's about as much fun as you get.
The horses being pretty vehicles honestly sounds right. Or robots. So far only a handful seem to make noise, and since they don't automatically slow down anymore, or need to be fed and have a break, don't seem like animals.
@@huntermoonhearth Yes, exactly! The horses just feel very soulless. What's the point of something pretty if it has no soul? Then a thing about the map as well. There's beautiful and cool areas, but there's no real reason to go back there after you've done the quests etc. I just wish there was something more. SSO has an empty world with empty horses. At least that's how it feels right now.
Great video! Keep up the good work! 🤍
Tysm. Definitely will do my best.
Well put video! What horse did you train in this video? Cant for the life of me figure it out!
Paso Fino! Believe they are at Steves Farm still if you wanna look.
Ahhh I hate this game but I love it at the same time... It's sad we don't even have events for Valentine's Day or April fools....
I miss april fools. We are in a love hate relationship with this game.
@@huntermoonhearth Yes, that's extremely sad because this could be the best game in the entire world and yet due to greed it's not...
Short answer: No
Yeah basically xD
@@RimFaxxe I'd love to see it. So far the only competition is Star Equestrian (kinds, kinda not) and Astride which hasn't released yet.
The thing that annoys me the most about SSO is the fact that this is a a SUB FEE MMORPG, with a micro transaction, star coins ruined the game. Most sub fee based games (FFXIV, WOW) literally don’t have micro transactions like that…like you NEED star coins, that’s ridiculous
I havent watched the video yet but im a person that is interested in sso because it looks really pretty and the clothes, characters, horses, tack and accessories, animations! they all look pretty and i feel like racing would be so fun! Im not a questing or interested in storyline person so that wont bother me but i see a ton of people saying how its bad and it changed etc and now.. i dont know if its worth it.
edit : please help me out and tell me if its worth it or not!
If you are in for the horses and clothes then it is worth it.
I stopped playing because of too many horses coming and I don't like the new characters they look like children to me it's really boring all you do is race but horses and doing boring side quest that aren't the story quest I miss when star stable use to have codes or Double star coin days and when they did fun things on each holiday it's feel not like star stable anymore really sad :((
I stopped playing in 2017 and I want to play again, would I have to make a new account? I know my old login and email. Are they going to make me pay again to play? I’ve paid the $80 in the past before to get weekly coins. I’m wondering if I’m filthy rich now lol
I’ve been playing since 2012 took a break for a couple years and was still able to login as if I had never left go on ahead get in the game!
sucks i was an old player & haven't played in forever
sadge to see this game downfall, also windtrace courses through my veins hit the mark on that one
I am obsessed with windtrace, glad it comes back fr! I am pure chaos when I play xD
Sad to hear you haven't played in a while, some aspects of this game are nice, but they definitely prioritize the worst things, or straight up weird things. (A scented candle when player would love figurines)
@@huntermoonhearth my favourite thing is when everyone changes to characters that know eachother, like watching zhongli chase venti 😭
i was thinking of taking a look again so i was looking for a video like this but its a shame to see how lackluster things have become, also wait this is a horse game why are we being sold candles ☠️
how is this game health-wise? are players even active on this anymore or is it slowly killing off
@@juice3287 SSO is selling a "horse" scented candle there should be some videos on their channel about it if you wanna look, the player's aren't to happy about it considering other types of merch they could make and it is made with ai tech.
Health wise the game is still active, due to the pandemic we did see new players flood in, some teens, some adults, kids too. The story kinda kicked off a little with the most recent quest and I am invested least for the new NPC we got introduced too, don't wanna spoil you. Quest wise though the game is slow now they wanna push horses for money. The events are repeated busy work but we did get a brand new event that is running right now and has I think 2-3 weeks left if you wanna check it out. It's a western event, kinda buggy but managable with a bunch of helpful youtube videos if you need.
Yees! I remember the first year of windtrace so many vids on tiktok of funny compilations and voice overs xD people went wild.
Quick answer: no
Here is the fast answer : NOPE
Honestly if you ask me the game is just one big pay to play
Fr and once you pay it's more of a sandbox than an adventure after you catch up on the story because it takes so long for them to add more.
Is this game better to play than Genshin Impact?
it’s fun but i don’t have star rider , seems like i can’t even finish the halloween quests because the map isn’t even fully open without having star rider :(
Long story short
No.
And for the price!?
Nope.
