Lyrics
As my dream comes to an ending,
Through this rain that’s everlasting
All I find are cold hard memories
Pale fragments of the past
Take my love
Take all I am
A price I would pay to save all I can
Grant me a single wish to finally set me free
This is my heart, my strength
Full of color, full of life
My story ends in pain
But I’ll be all right
This is the LAST STARDUST
So stand, rise up
Dust to dust, ash to ash into the night
May our dreams bring us hope for all time
Brave shine…
See your light…
Saved my life…
Your brave shine…
Brave shine…
This is my heart, my strength
Full of color, full of life
Our story ends in pain
But we'll be all right
I do this all for us
Farewell Judas
Dreams of old turn to dust and fade away
Memories come to me
Light a fire in my soul
And though my heart is weak
I choose to walk alone
This is the LAST STARDUST
So I’ll rise up
Dust to dust, ash to ash into the night
May our dreams bring us hope for all time
"I am..."
"You Wouldn't."
*"The Bone of my Sword"*
"Famous last words, Shirou..."
"My body... is built of blades."
This sounds better and it's in the sub.
Except
I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand swords
Unaware of loss nor aware of gain
have withstood great pain to create many weapons, waiting for ones arrival
I have no regrets, this is the only path
My whole life was unlimited blade works
Is shirou's official chant so my body is made of swords is incorrect.
@@r.k845 watch the subbed, it's in there when he and archer fights.
@@r.k845 also that is archers chant and not shirous. But shirou doesn't have that line in his chant but he says it in the fight.
"My story ends in pain, but I'll be alright" That line gave me chills it perfectly embodies Shrirou in the UBW route. This is some great stuff right here, well done!
Shirou Emiya : A boy, who has seen hell. His soul died a long time ago, but for the sake of humanity and his dream, he continues living without a soul.
Died? No. Just scared beyond repair. However with those scars bloomed a desire to prevent the same from happening to anyone else. Ambitious, yes. Possible, not likely. But admirable and inspiring all the same.
thats a cool way to nake an insert character
@@jsonfilthy7306 Damn yeah inserting yourself to an extreme altruistic high functioning sociopath, is the way.
C Sab He was burned by fires from Angra Mainyu that had the concept of destroying humanity. While Avalon healed his body, much of his “humanity” was stripped away.
Did we watch the same show? It kinda sucked but then there’s things like re:zero, Akame ga kill which or even corpse party which I feel like might be a tad bit worse. Maybe fit hell a little better
"That's hell you're walking into..."
This is the one thing you forgot. I admit, at first it was just admiration. But in the heart it was a wish. A wish for this hell to be undone. The unfulfilled wish of a man who wanted to save everyone, but lost everything.
Fate Grand Order GACHA : "That's hell you're walking into"
@@rojanleecastillo8317 FACTS!!!!😂
When you rolled up FGO gatcha but ended up getting black keys all the time: "That's hell you're walking into"
topical quote: If you're going through hell, keep going
I love this cover and how these lyrics contrast and reference the original Japanese ones.
Instead of *'My wound-riddled heart of glass relights the passion that I had started to forget/kizudarake no garasu no kokoro ga wasurekaketa netsu wo tomosu '* ,
you instead localized it as
*'Memories come to me, Light a fire in my soul, And though my heart is weak, I choose to walk alone'*
Memories, forgetting, possibly referencing Archer who's strayed from his path and became jaded, forgetting most of his past, only remembering the passion he felt for how he wanted to protect others when he sees Shirou's determination. A heart of glass/a weak heart, part of Shirou's Unlimited Blade Works aria chant and referencing his fragile and twisted heart, one that has been beaten and battered time and time again. A fire in the soul, a passion, could even reference the flames that stoke the forge of the Unlimited Blade Works, the fire that spreads through the world as the Reality Marble is activated.
'I choose to walk alone'. This resounds with me the most, because in the end, Shirou will always follow his ideals and walk the path of a Hero of Justice, continuing to soldier on, even as his friends and family die, even when he ends up alone, he'll continue to try and save as many people as he can, because its what he believes is the right thing to do.
Each and every one of these lyrics is just as strong and emotional as the original ones. I absolutely love this.
God damn it I rambled about my personal feelings on Fate/Stay Night again.
Hazama Terumi I don't blame you. XD
Amen man, this moment in the anime and the VN most likely was so amazing for me to witness the first time I saw this. Still get chills just remembering how fitting the music was to that scene..
I FEEL YOU. When I read the translations of the song online I was flipping out about how it relates to Kiritsugu and Shirou/Archer's beliefs. I def enjoyed adapting the lyrics for this song. Gives me chills!
Hazama Terumi alway nice to see good adaptations~
No wait. No one said stop

the youtube comment section really is made up of....
fakers?
commenters. the youtube comment section really is made up of commenters.
SuperSox97 Then why do commenters comment?
After listening to this, a sudden thought popped up in my head
"Would anyone be crazy enough to travel to war zone countries like Syria or Afghanistan , not partaking in either sides of the war, but just with the sole wish to save any survivors or refugees left from the war, maybe even adopting some of the little ones and bring them to a safe haven?"
Yeah, that sounds kinda what emiya shirou would do.
You're either crazy or you're just emiya shirou to act in such way
With a sole wish to save others , but forever remain an unsung hero , this is the path , the path of a hero
What you're describing is WELL within the boundaries of ordinary human thinking. Mercenaries go to war zones for money, and that's also what military intervention and humanitarian aid entails doing.
Shirou doing so for benevolent reasons is not crazy. Shirou looking at his not-a-delusion magical powers and thinking they can physically do good is not crazy. He's stubborn and idealistic, and got boatloads of psychological problems/damage, but he's ultimately sane and human. If he wasn't functional upstairs, he wouldn't be able to do 1/10 of the stuff we see him do, like attend school with no particular problems beyond "weirdly nice guy", socialize coherently and clearly with others, cook so well.
To take a crack at what I find is related to this topic: No, Shirou having a Reality Marble is not a sign of intrinsic madness either. Shirou explicitly has it because of his matching Origin/Element, and its shape/function are defined by his life experiences.
@@andreasvestergard7565 The common man seeks only to serve himself before serving others. It also depends on how one defines "crazy"
To serve others before serving oneself, that requires some insane commitment and dedication, you're either a saint or just like shirou, who just don't care about his own well being. Shirou is not suicidal, but he just doesn't seem to care whether he dies or not while saving another.
To attain this alike state, you are not the common man anymore. That's why Rin kept saying that Shirou needs to think for himself more.
In other words, you are still capable of functioning and blend into society, but you have some major issues inside, the same as Kotomine Kirei, he's capable of blending in perfectly, but he's still a psychopath who indulges in the suffering of others.
But hey, that's a fictional character with magic powers , and you CAN save people with magic.
But in reality? you don't have magic, you're just another human, you can train vigorously to attain a peak physical state capable to compete in the Olympics , but you still can't beat bullets guns and modern weaponry. And you STILL want to be like Shirou? nothing but respect for that
Another fact about Emiya Shirou, he doesn't seem to choose a side. In wars, there are always two sides to every story, Shirou doesn't care about that, he only cares about saving lives. Honestly, this is what a true hero is capable of, pick neither sides, and even seek to save both.
In other words, a true hero cannot be understood by the common man. In the eyes of a commoner, a hero is one who is beyond his understanding or simply one who is insane.
@@alexong2542 (common man) Any definition of "common man" that requires one to discount dozens of millions of people, thousands among any given population, is not a useful one.
(To serve others before serving oneself, that requires some insane commitment and dedication) No, it doesn't. It just requires people to not be self-absorbed assholes or sociopaths, which is a very low threshold to cross.
See firefighters and doctors and paramedics. See charity organizations and collectors on their behalf. See volunteer workers worldwide. See social workers. Dozens of millions of people motivated by the goodness of their hearts to help others.
(That's why Rin kept saying that Shirou needs to think for himself more) - that is the basic point, yes: Shirou's desire to help others is good, he was just unhealthy in how he went about it.
@@andreasvestergard7565still don't get it ?
It's the unhealthy part that makes him uncommon.
Those examples you mentioned, firefighters or doctors or volunteers, they are committed , but they're not as extreme as Shirou. You can ask anyone of them if they would rush into a fire zone and save an innocent child, more than 50% would say no, why? Because they have the will to live , they want to live. And as for Shirou, he doesn't care whether he lives or dies. That's a BIG difference.
Most humans are raised and programmed to preserve themselves before serving others, Shirou does not have a self.
Shirou's character is not just a simple one , that of a benevolent teenager who only wants to help others, that's only the surface of his character.
Now, back to topic, imagine , a common man, with no powers, no magic, just a human being, rushing into war zones, saving lives , that is not healthy, not one bit, why? because you have no protection whatsoever and still rushing into a place where you'll have a 80% chance of dying.
Remember, this is different from being a firefighter or a police officer, a firefighter or a police officer save lives because it's their job to do so, but a normal man who chooses to disregard his own life for the sake of others, not caring of his well being one bit, that is not healthy at all, from a view of a common man. Another thing to point out, many would sacrifice themselves for the sake of their loved one, but it is extremely rare for one to sacrifice themselves for a total stranger.
Very few can end up like Shirou, either you're traumatized like Shirou was, or you're extremely committed and willing to throw everything away , for the sake of one goal, with that goal being a hero of justice like Emiya.
Think again, letting go of everything is the hardest thing for a man.
Now, do you still want to end up in an "unhealthy manner" like Shirou?
His "unhealthy" character is not unrealistic, it is possible , but for very few humans.
2:45-“I do this all for us, farewell Judas.” I love this line. Shirou knows a betrayal is coming, but he keeps on going for the sake of others. I feel like his battle with Archer could be considered an analogy to the Temptation of Satan, an offer to stop before the pain begins, and a refusal to give in and abandon his ideals and he dream.
Oh shid Archer Is Actually Satan.
@@thereptile9467 bastard beat me to it by one month
@@thereptile9467 The actually is important.

My holy lord, I'm speechless. This is beatiful, from the lyrics to the singing performance. Gosh, thank you for making this happen!
"Even if I am a fake, this is absolutely true. For everyone to be happy... That an ideal everyone thinks of. So I won't back down. Because this dream is... There's no way my dream is a mistake!" -Emiya Shirou A beautiful cover of a beautiful song, Sapphire.
The Iron-Wrought Hero. Broken man but the sharpest blade.
Covers like this are the reason I subscribed to you,
Sapphire, thank you, I've been going through a lot lately and i'm facing a choice that can change my life (for better or worse, I don't know yet) and listening to this and remembering this scene this song was used in- I see i'm in a extremely similar situation as shirou was, the person who set me on this path has tought me everything I know but my relationship with him was always strained at best (can you imagine what it's like to be so greatful to a person, yet utterly despise them at the same time??)
Listening to this cover and thinking back to that scence from UBW helped me realise that even if I may regret it later, the choice I'm making is what I feel is right for me and that and that even if that person believes I'm not suited for this path i'll still walk it
Thank you for everything
When I heard this song, I always wondered how Emiya would look and behave after the Alter phase, after the tens or even sects of thousands of hells, like not millions. When he finally managed to fulfill his ideal, even once.
I had this idea. He'd go back to his old look. Less tan. Longer hair still white. His eyes would have gotten a golden shine back, and now his eyes would be golden white. They would lose a flash of life, free will in return. His mantle would now be white with gold and red ornaments. He would also wear a white cape with similar ornaments.
He would have succeeded in achieving his ideal, but in turn he would have become a completely nothing more than a broken machine. All his emotions and memories would be lost. The memory of his father and the memory of Saber's sumoning as well.
The only thing that would be left of these times is a glass sword cracked, brittle but a sword that will never be destroyed. It would represent the fact of becoming the sword of humanity. In it would burn the eternal fire of his will and hope, which will never be destroyed.
This has got to be one of my favorite versions of this song!
"My story ends in pain"
"But I'll be alright"
So damn beautiful.
I been looking for a good english cover for this, FOREVER! Here it is, after I had given up hope, months later, here it is. Funny enough, you released this the day after my birthday, so thanks for hearing my secret wish!
Finally an English version of this song and it's effin amazing

I'm so happy you covered this, it's hard to find english covers of this song. You did this song so much justice!
I know I sound selfish, but I so wished that this was a full cover. Still, I was pleasantly surprised when you first announced that you would be covering my favourite Fate song, and it came out beautifully!

I agree with your statement.
For 2 years of searching of an English cover of last stardust, but my efforts were wasted. I cried in sorrow the day I couldn't find one and settled on the english translation that didn't even match the beat of the song. You brought to the world the song that i searched for so long. And I thank you for your gift to the world.
When i heard this song in english, i just realized its about shirou wanting to become a hero and that he will walk in the path full of hell and never ending pain. Its truly magnificent
Tobi As This entire song was written purely for UBW adaptation. Meaning that it was purely for shirou.
Finally, a real and actual full cover of this beautiful amazing song.Thank you, I've been searching for something like this forever now and jut about given up on ever finding something like this just a few days ago. This was awesome and so are you, remember that no matter what happens in the future, you today, have brought a major smile to my face and moved me to my core as well. :)

This actually isn't the full version. Its the anime length version. But still, it is pretty amazing. Fantastic I must say.
I have to say Sapphire that you are by far my favorite cover artist, I love all of your covers and I'm so glad that I was introduced to your music! You're covers have helped me through many rough periods in my life and I'm sure you do the same for many people out there! Keep up the good work and God bless you!

Characters outside Fate I can imagen this play to
Perosna 3 Mc (Battle Against Nyx as he unlock Universe arcana)
Jonathan (as he slice of Dio's head or during his own death)
Madoka/Homura (As Homura's backstory is shown or Madoka makes her wish of the final timeline)
Subaru (Last time he have to execute Return to death for the arc)
now that I think about it p3's mc has a similar background to shirou but never had something to fill the hole in him unlike shirou, well at least until he met and clicked with his friends
also touma kamijou when he is about to fight othinus or KNT
So I just finished watching UBW a few days ago and I am rendered speechless by your cover of Last Stardust. Really beautiful

It always makes me smile when someone else covers this song.
Thank you.

Yep, this is still the best cover from all Last Stardust Cover songs i have heard
I'd say it's second to the time it was played during the anime, because that was the very first time I heard it
This song fits:
*Kiritsugu Emiya*
*Shirou Emiya*
*EMIYA*
*Siegfried*
And at some parts :
*Shirou Kotomine*
why does it fit Siegfried?
Cause he also has a broken wish, to be a hero of justice

I just love this song so much. The fact that it has a good rythm and the meaning behind the song. A person who is willing to give their own life to just make the world a slightly better place. It doesn't matter who it what he's saving, as long as it's for the greater good. When we think about Knights, we usually think about people who did selfless acts for other people. While it isn't unheard of, it was extremely rare for a knight to be like that. I think shirou is the definition of what a knight truly is.

FINALLY someone made an english cover this amazing song! I love your lyrics and voice Sapphire! Yay!
Anyone still back here ? best cover of Last stardust .
I like Amalee Version too but the lyric kinda lost the original meaning for me .
I keep mixing up the two lyrics in my head. Basicly mashing together parts I like. I feel like Amalee's are more poetic. Though, Sapphire's version in general imo benefits from being less wordy, making it less cramped.
For Saphire, I keep 'Grant me a single wish to finally set me free!'. It feels powerful, symbolising how Shirou is held captive by his dreams.
For Amalee, I have 'Soaked on through but I kept on walking my soul shaking from the cold'. The use of physical sensation captures well the feeling of wading through misery. It's a cold that surrounds and the cold harms you over time.
The rest I kinda just alternate from time to time.
@@anxiousearth680 I always interpreted Last Stardust from Archer's perspective so set me free could me mean his contract or set from free from my bitterness and self hatred which Rin and Shirou put Archer on the path to do in UBW.
@@ARandomGuy24
I'd say it's both. At least, for the og version.
The first two paragraphs mentions picking up pieces at the end of the dream. This hints at Kiritsugu who ended his dream after destroying the grail, salvaging a single piece that is Shirou. UBW anime also actually shows that scene at that part of the song.
'Kizudarake no' paragraph mentions "a warmth almost forgotten". This implies someone at the end of their journey, ie Archer who only then rediscovers his spirit.
By contrast, 'Kizutsuku no ga' is Shirou. It mentions accepting a painful fate and a fire in the heart. This is someone still early into their journey.
This is by far my favourite song you've done. The lyrics are really strong here and your voice compliments the instrumentals perfectly.
Absolutely brilliant.
Amazing work.
