This is a wonderful video. Barbara Harris was a truly unique character actress whose performances were special, sometimes hilarious and other times tragic, but always perfectly in tune and unlike the work of any other artist. John Cullum was unequaled in powerful, yet subtle vocal interpretations and a commanding presence. I was fortunate to have seen him in Shenandoah, a spectacular performance. These were the kind of artists that once made Broadway legendary.

I still remember seeing both Barbara and John performing in On a Clear Day at a Wednesday afternoon matinee on twofers at my beloved Mark Hellinger Theater. It was the first musical I saw "cold", not knowing anything about it or the score. I loved the songs, I loved the performances, but the book was no "My Fair Lady".
It's a lovely, touching tribute but one comment he made summed her up. She was a challenge to work with. She was by all accounts not just 'a challenge' but impossibly difficult. She was a terrific singer though, and that was her biggest asset. And that's the talent she stopped using, for some inexplicable reason. So go figure.
