  • The Montreal Canadiens are thrilled with the outcome of the NHL Draft Lottery, securing the 5th overall pick. This is huge for the Habs and their future aspirations.
As Habs fans, this is fantastic news for the team-a golden opportunity to choose an exceptional NHL prospect. It's monumental and game-changing for the Canadiens. Now, General Manager Kent Hughes must do his homework and select the best NHL prospect with the 5th overall pick at the NHL Draft 2024 in Vegas.

Super Coach --- Great Show.... Giving us alot to think about. My first thought was Lindstrom but then i looked into his injury history. This to me is a massive RED FLAG that is big enough to make me pass on LINDSTROM. I think Davidov will be gone. Lower back issues tend to LINGER--- I would stay away.
I don't want to use the 5th pick on the Iginla Reach--- My Ideal situation is drop drown to 8-9 10 to take Iginla. Trade up could Happen if Chicago don't want Demidov.
The last time we did not select a young player with Lineage was Tchuk... Big mistake
    I like Iginla

Those are 5 good scenarios for Montreal. As a fan, we will likely not see or hear about how the clubs meetings go with the mentioned players (until after the dtaft) and those have a big impact as well.
I think everyone, myself included is kinda hoping for a top 6 forward.

I would like for Hughes to pick Parekh if Lindstrom and Demidov aren't available at 5. Then he should try to make a big package including the jets pick for a pick between 9 and 13 to potentialy pick one of : Iginla, Catton, Eiserman or Sennecke. That would be the perfect draft for me. I doubt they would be able to trade up.

    thats cool i agree.
i have another option coach - trade the pick for a top 6 with upside to be top trio .
perhaps with the team only paying 50-75% of his 8.5 million contract over 7 years .
i dont expect them to make a trade like that .
it would amuse me if pld became a hab in a weird way like that .
wont happen but would amuse me if it did.

Ill be honest. I like a lot of the defenseman this draft in our position. I wish that Kent Hughes last year drafted one of: Michkov, Benson, Lenoard. This would be so much easier to choose. Because then we can get Saliyev Dickinson Parekh Buiem.

Hey Coach what about Beckett Sennecke?
Also Ignla’s dad was under rated and you can’t tell me he wasn’t a top 3 player in any team back then, so I think do to his pedigree I’d take the chance, one thing is everyone says he’s a work horse like his dad, so ya I’d take him at 5, and Calgary has already said here in Alberta that if Jerome’s kid is available there taking him.

@@HockeyNationLiveShow I agree with Sennecke. I was surprised from see him on some lists so high so I thought to ask you. And being in Alberta and living in between Calgary and Edmonton. I’ve watched a lot of Flames hockey in Iggys prime, and when you see his son skate it’s like looking to the past and all I can see is him filling out like his dad did and ask Dallas how much they missed him. He was a beast ask Oilers fans. Even though it was a good trade at the time. But anyways thanks coach have a great day sir.

    Best options for me:

I could just be crazy. But like I said I don't think Lindstrom will perform as the next Tage Thompson were hoping for. Most of his points come from goals and for a not goal scoring prospect for you to get most of your points that way is a bad sign. Also injury troubles? Sounds a lot like Kirby Dach who isn't bad but he isn't a top 5 player. It was a mistake for Chicago to use their 3rd pick to get him. I think Catton and Eiserman have way higher offensive cellings and still bring that top 6. Yeah we need size. No. We have Slaf and Dach. We don't need 3 super physical players in our top 6! The Hockey is evolving to favor skill over size.
