Beautifully restored and perfectly enhanced; the best version I've ever seen of this rare last film footage ever taken of StanLaurel and Babe (Oliver) Hardy together! Thank you, UCLA Film & Television Archives!
Brilliant, seeing the 1st greatest double act on private film, thanks for downloading
the first shots are at the Hardy house, 5429 Woodman in Sherman Oaks. It has been altered considerably but you can confirm the distinct roof line of the neighboring house in the shot with the wives walking towards the camera. The second part of the video was filmed at 5329 Tampa in Tarzana, which appears to be very much the same. Even the tree behind Stan as he sips his tea appears to still be there.
These two men gave so much happiness to the world. See also Stan Laural's funeral
Looks like some 16mm Kodachrome, & probably the camera was tripod mounted for most of this. Fascinating! Always loved Stan & Babe, & it's so heartwarming to see them still having such joy in their lives after the careers were finished & their health wasn't so great. They were much loved & seemed to be surrounded by good family. Sweet.
Wow, I never ever saw a 50's home movie lol. When someone says home movie, I think of the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's. That was COOL.
🇺🇸💚💛🇧🇷👉ETERNOS STAN LAUREN E OLIVIER HARD 👈💛🇺🇸💚🇧🇷
Most home movies in the 1950s did not have sound. That didn't happen until the 1970s.
Was a film student in college. From the color differences it looked to be 16mm probably with a Beaulieu (sic) wind up camera as those were popular back then.
In 2:00 and 2:13 at the end of the table, the lady with the gray hair, is Oliver Hardy's mother-in-law.
Actually, since that part of the video was taken at the home of Lois and her family, the gray-haired lady is most likely Lois’ mother-in-law (Rand Brooks’ mother).
Oliver hardy is the Man standing next to Stan Laurel in the beginning :-)
how did he lose so much weight, sickness?
Does anybody know what‘s the matter with Laurie Brooks? There is absolutely nothing to find in the net.
im sorry i got that Wrong Buster was at Stan`s funeral and die shortly after you can still find it with the same serch
Wonderful to watch this footage in such great quality. Their last footage together was filmed in 1956. The footage of Stan at the Reseda was filmed in 1955:
it would be interesting to know the exact address of her Resada home.
Un anno prima stan ebbe un ictus......
No they didn't have Super 8mm in the 1950's. (Super 8mm was between 1965 and 2011).. They only had Standard 8mm before 1965, but I think this looks like colour 16mm? Although I cannot be sure?
QUESTION: which of the females, was Stan Laurels wife "Ida Kitaeva Raphael" the blonde or the brunette? any help, Id appreciate it..
Billie Bobb Stan's wife, Ida, is the blonde.
@@miseentrope correct, and the brunette is Oliver’s wife Lucille.
Date Oct 1 1956
What the hell did they do with YT?! It sucks now!
Can any expert lip readers tell what Babe is saying at 1:03 that makes Stan and Andy laugh?
Oh Ollie, these cigarettes are killing me! Shut up, Stan. Your whining will be the death of me!
if you look up (buster keaton funeral) you see Stan there sadly Stan die shortly after Buster :(
It must of been Stan’s ghost considering he was already dead by the time Buster died.
