When is Jerry Cantrell going to get the recognition he deserves? He has been rocking for over 30 years and never misses a beat. He should be considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
His newest album "Brighten" is really good!
Not to mention, one of the great, rock, songwriters of all time.
He has the best tone also
No question, Jerry is solid. He's spot on his notes, counting time, and improvising when needed. Among Seattle's finest. No, he's not a Buckethead nor Steve Vai, but in the definition and scope of a premier rock guitarist, he's in the top five.
@@davecoffield7893 Jerry's so good, he doesn't need to be a Vai or Satriani type. He's got his own sound and style, when you hear him play you know who it is immediately. Kind of like a modern day Tony Iommi. Killer riffs and tasteful solos.
If you didn't know this was a cover, no one would know it wasn't Ann singing. One of the best covers I've ever seen. I was NOT expecting this.

I hold Ann Wilson in such high regard. That being said Gretchen Wilson ABSOLUTELY killed that performance. Girl can sang.

What I loved about this was you had two different genres combining to cover a classic rock song and just nailed it. I like when country artists step into something different and show their versatility in rock music. Gretchen could easily switch to rock whenever she wants and get a good following ✌️
As Cantrell said AIC was inspired alot by country music so it was great to see them perform with a country artist and Gretchen was 🔥 AIC of course was 🔥 and this was live..wow
Having watched Heart do this live close to 45 years ago now, in a small 3,000 seat venue, Gretchen killed it.
Everytime I hear this song's guitar riff, I expect to see Hoss and Little Joe ride off on their horses.

One of the best to ever live, has never had a miss in his entire career, godly songwriter and lyricist, great guitarist with one of the best tones ever and an immediately recognizable signature sound to his music that can’t be replicated by anyone, phenomenal live performer as well for his entire career. crazy versatility in his songwriting too where he can easily go back and forth between writing masterpieces on electric and then switching to acoustic and writing acoustic drive masterpieces. I’m rambling now but Jerry is truly one of the best to ever do it in my book and he’s gotta be one of the most highly respected musicians among his peers in the business.

There’s a lot of great footage of Nancy and Jerry. Jerry says of Nancy “Hands of Granite” - his fingers would be bleeding and Nancy was still playing.
Still one of my favorite performances of anything!
Gretchen's singing on this is probably second only to Ann herself
We need more of these collaborations in rock music or music in general
This version is better than the original Wilson’s voice is amazing and it’s just a way chunkier sound than the Heart version

Bitter sweet to see Alice in Chains without Layne. I don't know where Gretchen is from, but she has an incredible voice.Alice in Chains and Heart are from Seattle. I grew up in Seattle seeing both bands become a huge success along with Soundgarden (another tragic loss Chris Cornell) Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Mother Love Bone, Screaming Trees,Candlebox and 2 Super groups Mad Season lead singer Layne Staley, and Temple of the Dog lead singers Eddie Veddar, and Chris Cornell. Lets not forget the late great Jimi Hendrix.The little known, but yet Grammy winners Candlebox was one of my favorite bands.Seen them live at the Seattle Center way back in the 90s. What an era for incredible rock music. One of Candlebox's biggest hits was a song called (YOU) please take a listen to this amazing piece of music. Only do the lyric video cause the others have been cut to the point of losing the important message it's trying to convey. About drugs of course, in the 90s rock bands had such an issue with drugs they had to sing about it. I think the music industry still does they are just not as open about it as they were back then. Once again I would love to see you react to Candlebox I know you get lots of requests, but I'm an old woman with only memories of what Rock music used to be..................RIP Layne

Of course you know Jerry Cantrell and Nancy were/are an item, and members of Alice 'n Chains would play deep into the night at one of the sisters' houses. Apparently Gretchen had some legal issues (after this production) that stymied her career. This was a great one-off, though. The only other belt-voice out there, with smooth vibrato, is Carrie, and she's shown this with her GnR covers. I'd like to see Carrie hit this one....hard.

Gretchen cut her teeth on and paid her dues doing Zeppelin tunes in southern IL in dives. She graduated to country to pay the bills, but she definitely has serious pipes!
Bout time somebody did this...this is too nasty. Ann Wilson has a great release of a bunch of "covers" that's REALLY good...and, I'm not real big on covers.
