Thank you Paul for a series of very informative and helpful videos. As a new to caravanning lots to learn person trying very hard to avoid major issues, you and others on UA-cam have come to my rescue quite a few times. 👍🏾
Vincent Osborne pleased you enjoy them. I learnt how to caravan from UA-cam. Just got my first van last April (2019) and I’ve never spent a night out of it so far. Currently in southern Spain. Been to Portugal and France and just working our way back to Blighty for mid Feb. I need to get editing!
Funny how you dont notice something wrong until someone points it out.mb get this done before lockdown ends cos its certainly going to annoy me when we get back out.thanks paul.great vlog
Thanks Colin; pleased you found it useful. I don’t think it’s too much of a rush yet because you still have plenty of time before the week of sunshine in the summer.
Hi Paul, Great Video. Quick question off topic. I see you have the Swiftshield fabric. whats it like and do you think its hard wearing (to the standard). We are looking to buy a new van and this would be the option we are thinking of.
Thanks for following. Yes we are very happy with the swiftshield fabric (although never had a caravan before so don’t really have anything to compare it with). We have lived in the caravan continuously since April 19 except for the 4 months of lockdown and the fabric still looks good. It may have taken some of the colour from denim materials but not very noticeable. The main issue we have is with the cushion filling. This has sagged/collapsed in areas where we sit the most. Swift will replace the filling but I need to be without the van so maybe will sort this out if we get locked down again. We haven’t had any major spills (wine, etc) to give it a proper test. I bet this week we’ll suffer a catastrophe now I’ve said that! Good luck with the new van.
Hi Robyn Sorry I’m late responding to your question I didn’t get a notification of your question for some reason. All I fitted was the existing caravan blinds the other way up, however most of the online blinds companies do blinds that can be fitted in the same way. I think you need to search for “perfect fit blinds” but select surface fix rather than recess fitted. Thanks for watching. Good luck with your improvements.
But when you get up in the morning or after a shower you can pull the blind up and leave 1/3 open for light. Not for this one but we are all different it what makes the world go round? See you’ve not been a lot of videos for quite awhile. I hope that’s not because you’re unwell
Hi James, thanks for following. We have been busy with all sorts of things that have put the vlogging back a bit. We’ve now got a Narrowboat and busy getting it ready for a review by Waterways World before showing it at Crick at a national waterways show in May. Health is good thanks although I did have a bit of a scare at the start of last year; all good now and this year will try and get time to start vlogging again.
I probably ought to be honest and acknowledge that the screwdriver was actually only 99 new pence but with a rather flamboyant and lavish act of generosity I dismissed the change together with the paper receipt as I left the checkout area having handed over ‘a full pound’!

Good luck. Don’t forget the short handled screwdriver!!
@@PaulMatsonMOTM 3 completed. 2 more to do in lounge. Leaving kitchen (behind glass panel), toilet and bedroom as they are. Thank you.
Great idea. Easy fix. New to your channel
Let’s Go Somewhere Motorhome Travels pleased you like it. Thanks for following.
Thanks for the demonstration. Our Swift motorhome has them with the blind coming down from the top and I'm changing it, so opposite to you!
Ha ha. Each to their own! Thanks for watching.
Nice work, I'll be doing the same. Swift must build our caravans upside down to fit them like that in the first place.
843thebear ha ha! It wouldn’t surprise me!
Great vlog going to get my other half to do the same , we have just bought the 2020 challenger X 850

Hello can you please tell me where you purchased the blinds from?
Hi Lana, thanks for watching. The blinds are the factory supplied blind but fitted the other way up.
