This was a great video. I particularly liked what you said about the employer isn't doing you a favor. I have seen so many comments at the end of videos like this one where people comment that the person should be grateful they have this job, or they should be honored they were chosen, and I find such statements pitiful. As you pointed out, it is a two-way street-you do the job the employer needs done, and the employer pays you for services rendered. The reason some of these airlines, especially the highly sought-after ones, are able to do the things they do is because they too, feel those chosen should be "grateful", and appreciation should be expressed by tolerating whatever is thrown your way. Again, well done, and I'm looking forward to seeing the other content you film for your channel.

Racism is real and horrible to experience. The way more than a few bosses explained it to me was basically people are more comfortable not seeing too many Blacks out front! My first job was a Burger King on an Army base. I begged to be allowed to run the cash register (I did it for my second job) but was told the girls out front were preferred! A lot of the things that happen at Emirates would not fly here in America. (No pun intended). At my first airline during training a girl in the class behind me said the n word in the bathroom at a restaurant. My friend reported it and that girl was sent home immediately. We also have fatigue reports here but they're kind of useless. If you call in fatigue you're put on rest for twelve hours and they have a reserve take your place. For a fatigue report to be approved it has to be company caused, for example there's construction in the hotel and you can't sleep. You can't call in fatigue if you have noisy upstairs neighbors. A lot of times most FAs and pilots don't even bother to call in fatigue because it can end up resulting in a missed trip. If a company or a personal relationship has no empathy BEWARE. You should never have to put up with undue stress or be afraid in your environment. It's abuse. They would have to change if no one put up with the narcissism behavior. Watch out for age discrimination as well. When people stay it sets their standard. You deserve good fitting shoes on top of everything else.

I understand what you are saying about racism and your feelings are valid. But I don't understand why you would choose to work for an Arab airline. You are Kenyan and you already heard of all the horrific stories of what happening to African maids in those countries. This Arab country has ALWAYS been racist to black and brown people since the Arab -African slave trade. Slavery was only abolished in that country in 1962. So it's not shocking that they still view black people as "below them". Sorry but there is nothing shocking about what you are saying. Majority of black people already know about type of Arab racism.
I thought working for an international company in the 20th century, full of other nationalities, would be different. I was wrong. There are many who still think like I did, hence why I must share my experience so they realise that racism still exists even in these spaces we least expect

Thank you for your empathy
What's lipstick are you wearing?
Too faced-Lady Balls
Yes because it's the brightest red I've been looking for really bright red on my dark skin 🥰thanks
In Brazil thousands of people show up for the open days and they only pick 5, 3 in the end. There's many of white people who go to the open day here, so I don't know if it is because of the color. But I've noticed, maybe I'm wrong, but it seems they love very tall people and green/blue eyes person.
Remember you were in the East gal n fir you to be youuuuu...... You need the Fortress that you hv already. I'm subscribing of course. Stay Blessed too.

I enjoy listening to you... Such a beautiful lady ❤️ and ur voice 🙌🙌🙌🎈❤️
Thank you 🙏🏾
Aw made me so sad when u said we want to be wanted not tolerated, I understand you. You great !♡
🤎🤎🤎
It’s very sad to see that they only hire a few black people just for the box check. And the uniforms… they should of thought of those things before hand ..
I did Emirates interview two days ago. I'm still thinking about it 😪 Out of close to 300, they took 4. One black.
Black lives matter 😄
Sending hugs..I know what these sessions can do to your mental state
As an African we had a lot going on in n out so de least we can do is to love our selves as an African too cos de hate is much on us blacks God bless Africa God bless Nigeria n Biafran. 1 love
@@MichelleisMyName Ok, I understand now.

Hi Michelle! Is it possible to do a video on your experience living in Dubai, separate from the airline. You said it was expensive. How were you able to manage properly on your FA salary. Did you feel like the racial issues bled through to your time spent there as we'll. Thank you for sharing your story. This is eye opening up
Hi my dear…I’ve got a really old video on EXPAT living…check it out see whether it answers your questions and if not then we’ll see
so which airline do you think is better?
awesome cutie
Emirates airline majority of human Resources agent and management are UK 🇬🇧 nationality my dear . I got the chance to be ground-floor customer service agent , but they decided to work as cabin crew, so I rejected the offer because I'm a Muslim ☪️ and I can't deal with alcohol at . All God gives me better job alhamdullah
You are beautiful! Love from Pakistan
Thank you 😊

I am so proud of you Mitch❤️
I had this dream when I was in primary school, from being a FA to being an aeronautical Engineer to becoming a pilot just because I loved aviation.
But as time ticks you realize the black man has limited opportunities sometimes. (My take)
It's been nice hearing from you . all the best. ❤️
33:00 I totally feel you as a North African I had issues with the uniform as well my skirt never sat right with me I’m a size 10-12 at best as well and I was given a size 18 it was the most uncomfortable feeling ever I had to start wearing biker shorts beneath my skirt to hold my shirt up I was tired of passengers staring me up and down when I was closing the over head bin like I wanted to flash them my stomach
Oh my goodness…Girl I know 😭
I’m sorry you went through that too 🫂
Terrible experience
Would you go to Quatar airlines after being laid off by Emirates? Smiling Qutar girls say that your race doesn't matter there
Nope…I’m ok!
You're awesome. Thanks for sharing ✨
🤎🤎🤎
Here after watching you on switch tv
Karibu 😊🤎
This is crazy, sorry dear.
Thank you hun
I am glad you can move on and have a better, bigger experience. God gave us free agency so we can elevate ourselves beyond a bad experience. This was obviously a horrible experience for you and one you definitely learned from. I'm kind of surprised that you stayed for 5 long years. It's just NOT for everyone. As a retired Flight Attendant and In-flight manager, I loved many things about my job but, of course, there were things about the industry that "hit me hard" and lessons learned were very difficult.
I love you so much
🥰🤗
Girl I hate the trainning omggg

@dudaduda9940 I told you training was difficult…and rarely is there a human face to help people navigate how rigorous those weeks are.
Hi that’s very bold of you to share your story. I believe greater things are in store for you and I wish you all the best in your endeavors. I have a question though, does this toxic work culture apply to all employees or is it just cabin crew? Ground staff, pilots etc
First of all, thank you very much and amen.Yes, I believe its everyone not just cabin crew
