I’m an aspiring writer and I want to squash any phobia i see in my stories, including islamophobia. Swords? You think Pakistanis use swords? In this era? And just for the guy being an American? All youtuber vloggers loved their tour of Pakistan and all of them showcased our generosity. Islamabad is the second most beautiful capital in the world. Pakistanis speak Urdu. We are nothing like Arabs nor is their language spoken anywhere here. Whatever x let them think of themselves as superior. Without the Arab scientists they would still be fumbling around in the dark ages.
I don’t think Islamabad is even in top 10 beautiful capitals of world, let alone top 2. London, Paris, Vienna, Rome, Tokyo etc there are so many to choose from.

Before this city came in to being there just was a jungle and this is very well planned and organized city that you can predict home address. Life in Islamabad is traffic/Noise pollution free, Dust free and full of natural beauty.Islamabad’s weather is as beautiful as love. You witness rain almost every week and enjoy beautiful nature of Islamabad

Hands down Midnight Mass indeed shows non-Islamophobic and close-to-home Muslim representation on Netflix (surprisingly) - from the experiences Sheriff Hassan voiced out to all the little backstory of how he travels to the mainland to attend Friday prayers and prayed subuh prayer with his son, Ali, till the very end.
If a foreigner comes to Pakistan they literally get the warmest of welcomes... especially in the tribal areas...there are so many American vloggers that have come to Pakistan and shared their experiences on yt so I don't know where they're getting all this from...
And what if someone tries to build a church in Pakistan? And what if a little child (8 years old) insults islam ?

@@simybiju8589 mate I'm from the KPK province from Pakistan which is considered the most "Islamic" , there is no tension at all between religious groups over here, me and my younger brother we have spent our childhood going to the church and house of our local reverend who was a family friend and his children were our closest buddies. And our house caretakers were Hindus and currently one of our drivers is also a Christian. Stop following this "Godi" media in India and Western propaganda and kindly come back into reality.

Talk human rights in non-islamic countries, but no human rights for non-Muslims in Islamic countries.
Won't permit Christian churches, Jews synagogues, Hindu temples, Sikh gurudwaras, Buddhist temples etc in Muslim countries. Or blast/burn them down. But want mosques in non-Muslim countries.
Invite non-Muslim to mosques and learn islam but Muslim never enters other religions places of worship and learn non-islamic religions when invited.
Persecutions and racism against non-muslims in islamist countries continue even today.
Want sharia law, but run away from Sharia law practising countries to Christian countries shamelessly citing persecution in Sharia countries. Every Muslim migrate to sharia countries and enjoy your peaceful lives.
Make false statements that ISIS, Tali-ban, Al-shabaab, Boko Haram, Hamas, Lashkar at Toyba etc are not islam even when the terrorists shout alla ho ak-ber, pray muslim prayers 5 times a day, cite Islam, cite quran, doing in name of allah and islam. Then where are the Muslim public rallies, protests, shouts, play cards condemning the terrorists for bringing dis-repute to islam and Muhammad? Never muslims confronted terrorists. They hide something. But subtly support those terrorists organizations.
Why mullahs, imams don't blow themselves up but brainwash gullible followers to blow themselves in terrorist suicide acts?

The not so ironic thing about homeland when I watched it was that in every season there was a pattern. For example if they showed a Muslim community praying in a mosque they then would show in a later episode that same community apparently “aiding” the terrorist character “escape” police through the same mosque, all because the terrorist character used to pray there. So in reality the “representation” is non-existent 😂

But I was secretly Thiest (believed in God, but not any particular religion).
I actually thought that all religions were created by men, including the Quran.
Discovered Islam at 15, accepted it at 16, wore the Hijab at 17 Alhamdulia.

We all know that some areas of Pakhtun Khua and Baluchistan are still hard to tackle when it comes to nefarious activities. So if some one needs to show in media, they may show those areas, and I wouldnt mind.
But majority of land comes under protection of Pak Army which has eradicated a lot of TTP and similar gangs. But there still are here and there tribal outcasts.
And if you do not accept that, then I guess you want to paint an equally incorrect picture as well.

I'm a Muslim, and I LOVED Homeland! Especially earlier seasons. I don't think it's Islamophobic, at least I never felt that way. I guess there were some stereotypes, but it always tried to show 2 sides. Sometimes they even showed the US as the bad guy. So yeah.
I’m not Muslim but I totally agree. Obviously the show wasn’t perfect and no doubt there were some slightly dodgy moments. But I really didn’t think it was Islamophobic. These people are just watching brief clips totally out of context, then reading the worst into them because a feeling of unjust victimhood is the premise of the video they’re trying to make for views.
I go to an international school yet I still got bullied for being an arab and Muslim, I didn’t have friends for almost two years

So as a Muslim I was blown away by Homeland and how amazing it was. Honestly I had no issues with it specially the first 3 seasons. It was a good show and what impressed me was how much detail about Islam (specially how brody prays and what muslims believe in general) they got right. After Brody died it didn't interest me anymore and I only saw maybe one more season but till date. It is one of my fav shows just because of how they showed Brody's transition to a Muslim and then hiding his faith. Mad Respect to it's creators and family! Thanks everyone and I hope my comment doesn't offend the makers of this channel.
@@Jess-737 I watched three seasons of Homeland; The only Muslims who aren’t terrorists are (conveniently) the Muslims who love America and support the War on Terror. The Arabs in the show don’t know how to speak their own language, Muslims are given ‘Muslimy’ names regardless of their ethnicity (who tf living in Syria with the name AfZaL) and of course the yellow sand filter in Beirut and Islamabad even though neither of those cities are anywhere near a desert. But Claire Danes is kinda hot so I guess it’s ‘alright’.

Judging this show based on 2 scenes only? It has 8 seasons and plenty of references. You could add more scenes to react to next time.
Should you watch it as a Muslim? Probably not. It has plenty of nudity and things that are not very faith-friendly.
Overall? I can say that the show promotes both falsehoods and stereotypes, while also having characters on advocating for peaceful solutions and the search for the truth. It's not a good representation in the media, but I'll give it that it's trying.
There's a scene in it with that man praying somewhere in Iran, on a hill, as the sun was setting. I remember stopping the video and checking where would Mecca be in that scene and he was technically facing south. I was happy they got that right. :)
I don't understand any languages from predominantly Muslim regions, so I cannot comment on the accuracy of that. :(
The show is hella racist, poorly researched and promotes a negative narrative on muslims but worst of all it disrespects cultures, languages and people of different countries. Some ppl take it for face value and form opinions based on this wonky narrative about muslims from different regions classing them under the 'americanized fictional version of terrorist muslims' and that attitude propogates islamophobia and hate crimes because the representation is based on stereotypes which is also inherently racist towards brown people. Also islamabad is the greenest capital of the word and 2nd prettiest capital city in the world and has a very high literacy rate. the audacity to make it look like a shit hole with rabid zombie like savages is dehumanizing. This show dehumanizes brown people, people of muslim faith and is abdolutely drenched in white saviour complex.
