I really want this as my next phone! My iPhone 8 is just the same as my 6 but faster. I’ll probably end up getting the S10 though. I never thought I would pay this much for a phone but I purchased the 128 for my wife and the 512 for myself and we are loving them! Best phone I've ever touched!
Regarding the placement of fingerprint scanner, Samsung did that bc of the large 4000 mah battery and wireless charging. They couldn't place it lower unless they made the device even larger than it is. These slight minor gripes will be gone on next year's models with in display fingerprint scanner.
gunnyo50 have you read anything about that? Ir just your speculation? Bc that’s just what i was assuming based off the S10. I may have to wait till next year if it will have it under the screen fingerprint sensor
@@Jc50gt it's definitely having the fingerprint scanner underneath but the version that they have is a ultrasonic fingerprint scanner so it will work better than the phones that have it right now . New Snapdragon chip supports it
I read many articles that dinged the Note 9 for the fingerprint scanner being directly under the camera. And I was worried this would be a problem. Personally I have had absolutely no issues with this 'feature'. And I never feel like I'm going to rub the camera by accident. I did turn on the 'retina scanner' as well, but I mainly use the fingerprint reader as it is faster. So I understand some people don't like it, but I honestly find no problem with it's location at all. Just saying.
@@THDTPSEvents I really don't understand why people are getting frustrated by having to move your finger 1 cm higher then natural position...like you also have to move your arm to take your phone out of your pocket..just wtf
Great review saf. I got the 512gb model with snap dragon 845. The phone is a beast with 8gb of ram. Long battery life I'm getting 6 hours of screen on time . Its expensive but worth it.
@杨子良u r tripping. 6hrs screen on time it's great. I use it hardcore. The other day I got 6hrs screen on time, was up for 16 hours and still had 15% battery left
@杨子良 don't lie u get 10 hours screen on time. The only way u will get that its watching UA-cam videos with 50% brightness and wifi on. Wtr r u doing watching a note video. Go watch your ishit videos
@杨子良 bro get it right. I get 6 hours screen on time on hardcore use. If I just watch videos I can get up to 8 or 9 hours. It depends how you use your phone. Are u slow or something
Hi Saf! I got my note 9' Friday and I can't imagine not having it? It's the best phone I've ever owned!!! Thanks again for another awesome video! Love your ch. I've been subscribed for 8 years!😉🍺
Note 9 is the best phone of 2018 in my opinion, i really like samsung flagships, it gives u whole package of features, hardware and software, samsung flagships are my favourite
Maroof KHAN bro do u help me? Everyone will read it carefully. I would like to thank all my wishes and congratulations. I hope all are well. I will tell you an important thing today. I am very poor. So I can not keep up with the society. They all are good houses, good cars, good mobile phones. The people of the society see us so hateful. But I want to show them. Will someone give me a mobile gift? Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone is very much like me. Is there any kind of person who will give me a mobile gift. Do it. I will be grateful to him for lifetime. Do not forget about him any day.
Very nicely done video. Detailed enough information about the Note 9 in comparison to the Note 8 without a bunch of unnecessary rambling as seen in other videos. I can see why you have so many subscribers. Job well done. I look forward to watching more of your reviews. Btw, in answer to your question, I really like the Samsung Note 9. I went in the store yesterday and played around with an ocean blue one (man what a gorgeous color!) and it looks like a great phone. Those speakers, wow! I'm impressed. They sound great. Samsung did a great job with the speakers on the Note 9. And the display, well it's a Samsung so I wouldn't expect anything less than excellent, which it definitely is. More storage, bigger battery, bluetooth S-Pen, better fingerprint sensor placement, and a few other upgrades over the Note 8 make this a winner imo. Price tag is steep so it's not for the average consumer. However, for those who can afford it I think they will no doubt get their money's worth.
I just got my Note 9 and haven't even listened to it with earphones. But honestly I'm not overly impressed with the speakers. Not 'bad', but they don't blow me away either. I still think my work phone (iPhone 7) speakers sound louder and clearer. But again the Note 9 is brand new and not really tested yet. Just throwing that out there.
I hear you. I went back to the store and saw they had the iPhone Xs Max so I played around with it and the Note 9 again. I'll admit that the iPhone speakers are louder imo than those on the Note 9 but to me the Note 9 speakers have the better sound ( I listened to Paul Hardcastle's smooth jazz tune Echoes Rising on both phones without headphones). The iPhone speakers seemed to me to have some static distortion in the sound, especially when turned all the way up. However, my wife has the iPhone 7 plus and I don't believe the speakers on her phone have that static distortion. At any rate, it's apples and oranges. They are both very good phones.
Darth Severus Depending on your current model of phone, that may be a wise choice. For me though, with an old S6 edge, it was time to upgrade. And although still VERY new, I have no regrets in doing so. If the 10 proves to be ultra amazing (and 5g becomes magically available quickly), I will upgrade with my carrier at that time. For some it may be worth waiting, for me it seriously wasn't much of an option. And again, I'm super pleased with my choice, based on my previous phone!
Martin Cielens yeah i also dont know what the fuck he is trying to say. I have the note 9 and my mom has the s9+ and ive compared outdoor shots and i could not notice any fucking difference
Garrett I read reviews about the 9 series in general, with the 'low light' camera aperture changes for those models. Not sure about the s9+, but in the short playing with my Note 9, I am VERY impressed with how it handles low light areas (like a bar). I upgraded from a very old S6 edge, and the low light pics alone make this phone's camera leaps above what I had before!
Not sure how you people are able to clearly see a difference when the hardware (CMOS sensors and lenses) are literally the same. Samsung must be doing some additional post-processing in the Note 9 software, and if they do it should also make its way into the S9 at some point. Or better yet, you can just install a ported version of the HDR+ camera app from the Pixel 2, or wait for the xda devs to port over the Pixel 3 app.
It is a fair wack of coin , of course you could always buy other flagship devices for close to the same money (in apples case ....even more ) , And some or most do not have ........ Sd card , 3.5 mm headphone jack big battery A quality display S pen Samsung experience (yes that is a plus imo ) samsung pay A vast array of accessories and other features . Good customization . Huge storage . great hardware .
I have a note 8 and love it, note 4 always has a part of my heart in what drove the note to what it is. And hecks all phones of 2018 are all great in all their parts and technology, but I will wait for next year to see what Samsung will deliver, sounds like 2019 will be exciting. Supersaf, always on point bro with your reviews, and please people stop all the hate on phones! At the end, competition breeds innovation 😎😎😎
I've had the Note 9 now since it was released. It's the best phone I've ever owned in my life (so far). I'm hoping for the best. I love it - and the battery life is amazing. Great vid.
There is a deal breaking problem for a small segment of Note 9 users that film using an external monitor connected with a type C to HDMI cable dongle. When the camera is enabled in the landscape mode the monitor is switched to portrait mode and a message is displayed to the effect that landscape mode is not available when Smart View is enabled OR a HDMI connection is used. This essentially renders an external monitor useless and only occurs when in the camera mode. Why Samsung designed implemented this function is a mystery as no other app exhibits it. I have tried different cables and different camera apps and nothing tried will display landscape in a camera app. As I said this is a deal breaker and I wish I had known prior to my purchase.
Palash Singhal enjoy the lag that will surely come ! Stick with what works. All the features of Samsung are gimmicky ! iOS = zero lag and never fails !!!
Thank you Saf for another amazing review. I currently have the Note 8 and has upgraded to the Note 9 purple 512 with Verizon. I look forward to my new device. You are my favorite reviewer. I love your camera comparisons. A side note. All my Apple friends tell me to take all the photos when we travel. According to them I have a better camera.
Well other manufacturers couldn't come up with the curved AMOLED screens like Samsung because samsung are years ahead of other manufacturers in tech....just wait and watch....Samsung's dual aperture tech will come in other phones in 2022
Fucken idiots The curved screen is fantastic. Makes the video experience more immersive. Accidental touches are a thing of the past. Best phone on the market right now
I love my Note 9, I use the S Pen constantly. I have to agree on the battery, I'm a heavy user and I am not quite getting through the day on every day but I am on some. Its infinitely better than the Note 8 battery which barely got me through until early afternoon! Due to a disability I'm always going to stick with the Note line now as I need the S Pen but I've had many phones and imo none have come close to Samsung.
Awesome video, dude. I’m not sure of the Android Pie implementation of clipboard, but the Galaxy Note series phones (and probably the Galaxy S series phones as well) have had a clipboard feature since the Note 2. I’ve been using it since late 2012.
lol and then once note 10 is released, note 11 will have 4k resolution, bigger battery and better cameras. dont forget, 5g is not worth getting since samsung said it is going to be selective in how they transmit 5g. plus 5g is not going to be the standard next year, probably not even the year after that.
I struggled with this as well. But I had a Galaxy S6 and it had become extremely laggy. 5G won't be readily available for over a year, so I feel I can jump to a newer phone at that time. If I had a S8 or higher, I would have waited though.
Been a Samsung user for a long time. Have noticed that with each upgrade, text features are removed. No signatures, no pin, no background, no bubble... But, loved the video .. Subscribed!
I don't understand why people make big deal about finger prints on back .. just apply naked skin at back and sides. That's whT I do with my Samsung phones. And it's good to go. As I like the default blue colour so dont want to apply some dbrand skin and hide it. Naked skins are the best
Most people do this no matter what it's made of anyway, even the coatings applied to aluminum eventually peel and look like trash. Some sort of a case is essential on any phone you want to last for 2-3 years. This also solve the fingerprint sensor positioning people whinge about as you use the case as a guide for placement...
@pemburuORGHipokrit F my s8 is lagging thesedays unless i optimze the phone. Im sure factory resetting will do a better trick but I dont wanna do that lol. I guess we need more ram. Seems like 4gb of ram is definitely not enough for s8. Hoping s10 to have at least 6gb then im on!
@杨子良 The current lags that Im experiencing on s8 is due to opening multi apps at the same time. I always have youtube open with a web browser. If im using only one application at a time it does not lag. But Samsung phones are made to multitask so I think it shouldnt lag when I open multiple apps. Also it lags from time to time when im in dex mode opening 4~5 apps and I believe it shouldnt lag and 4gb of ram definitly not enough for multitasking purpose. For iphones yes less rams make sense cause you cant run more than 1 app at a time.
@杨子良 I agree Apple has faster CPU and it is better optimized than Android. I had iPhone 6 then to S7 edge to S8. iPhone 6 did feel smoother overall but nowhere near perfect (experience more freezes where I had no choice but to let the battery to fully drain so i can restart the phone) also they intentionally made the phone slower and until they gave new software update it was unbelivably slow. main reason that I switched over was being able to multitask. I just dont like switching apps back and forth when im watching youtube when someone is texting etc. Did feel like a huge upgrade from Iphone 6 mainly due to the display and yes I know the iphone X has the same display as Samsung so its just as good. but at that time it felt like a huge upgrade. And i dont think Samsung needed 4 gb of ram if they did not support multi windows or floating windows. And i dont think iphones are going to be okay with 2gb of ram if it supported all the functionalities of galaxies... the truth is that apple is much polished but limited and samsung less polished but they offer you way more built in options.. cant go wrong either way. The only reason that Samsungs CPU being slower than iPhone is qualcomm. Samsung can obviously make faster CPU than iphones (they dominate the market). But they cannot have their exynos processor sold in USA because of Qualcomms patent thus downgrading their processors intentiinally to match that of qualcomms. So Samsung is intentionally trying to match their exynos CPUs performance to Qualcomms snapdragon even tho they can exceed by a huge margin all because they are partners.
I have a question about the view at 12:47 in the video: Is that an app or is there a case on the phone? The bottom of the screen doesn't look like a normal phone screen.
Jumping from the Galaxy S6 , I bought the note 9 special preorder bundle that comes with a : -JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth speaker (retails at 150$) -Samsung U-Flex bluetooth Headphone (retails at 70$) -Samsung wireless convertible charger (retails at 70$-ish) Which is an insane offer for a 1000$ , i could not be happier with the phone and the battery life is just perfect , got the exynos 9810 version too and the performance is top notch and smooth as butter . Surely worth every penny .
Your content and knowledge is absolutely wonderful and useful and I admire your work .. PS you deserves more views saf I hope that u will grow as a UA-camr
on the 512 gb i have downloaded bleach all episode Naruto all episodes FMA all episode and some other anime in 720p and still i cant have my storage full
Just bought a Note 9 and I'm really liking it so far. It's perfect for the things I need to do at work, such as jotting a phone number down when I don't have a pen nearby. I can just pop out the S-Pen, write the number down on the screen and save it. I was going back and forth between an LG V40 or the Note 9 and I made the right decision going with the Note 9. It's a beast of a phone.
Nice video, pretty much sums up what I think of the Note 9 after a couple of weeks, initially I was thinking I should have kept the Note 8 but as time goes on I'm loving the 9 and happy with my purchase.
I have to disagree with the fingerprint scanner placement, to my is really bad on my note 9, don't get me wrong, that sensor is blazing fast but that position is really bad and if they put it lower the ergonomics will be horrible, this is a note device, I'm am architect I buy it for the s pen capabilities and as an sketching book we never be holding the phone as a regular one, you need to hold it firmly right in the middle and trying to reach that sensorin the note 9 is a twerking and painfully battle for my finger, by the other hand the placement of that sensor on the note 8 was brilliant and perfect, my finger was already near to the spot all the time, fortunately, the intelligent scan feature on the 9 works so well that actually is beating my face id experience, this phone unlocked without raising it in front of my face, also worked fast at night, if I hold it with my arm extended also worked! , is shocking fast so I barely used my fingerprint sensor because intelligent scan works so well that I don't need my fingerprint now. Battery life, I'm getting 7 up to 8+ hoursof screen on time on my note 9 with pretty heavy usage, and this measurements are taken this first week and using wqHD+ The entire resolution of the panel, I tested full HD+ mode and the note gives me 9+hours of screen on time, but for my job and some drawing and sketching apps requirements I need to use the entire resolution of the panel but 8+ hours of screen is an entire job day, it is pretty much outstanding considering that I using my note for very heavy tasks and works so I am amazed by my purchase, definitely worth the price, in my country the price tag was four times more than in USA or Europe but I have no regrets, is just perfection
The 9 has been everything I hoped for, and the battery life for me is fantastic. The only thing I can hope for now is a solid experience over the next 3 years, fingers crossed!
One of the things I am most impressed about the Note 9 is the sound quality from those stereo speakers. When buying it, I didn't expect much improvement in the sound - but they are actually a pleasure to listen to. Very happy with my Note 9 (Exynos 512GB / 8GB version)
Cannot imagine at all spending this kind of money on an android phone when incredible OnePlus or Huawei phones do great for half the price or less. As nice as it is, you can’t get around the competition. It will not sell well. Apple can get away with it because there is NO other competition for them (running iOS).
The screen made the deal for me. Trust me, from someone who has tried these "economical phones", the difference is huge when it comes to eye strain and long usage of phones.
Yeah, the screen and stereo speakers give you such a better media experience, especially the stereo speakers. I play PUBG alot and what's the point of OP6 gaming specs when your single finger covers the only speaker so you can't hear a single thing. I also live in Canada so seasons are always changing and the IP rating gives me alot of confidence when going outside. The wireless charging is very convenient and I've yet to get a micro SD card, but i will because the 4K60FPS video takes alot of storage. The battery is better, not alot better in my testings, but apps still aren't really optimized yet and its still learning my usage habits so i expect it to get better in time, also i'm at QHD+, but overall longer SOT than my OP6 8GB variant. The only thing I hate about my note 9 compared to the OP6, is the slower charging rate ( just the first 50% or so, the full 100% charge takes about the same time ), and BIXBY. The OS isn't that bad.. I do like oxygen OS better, but I like the samsung apps better as well. Samsung pay is by far the best mobile paying app, and samsung pass is also great. Samsung pass remembers my passwords for your app of choice, so when I for example open my banking app, instead of having to type in my password, it'll just do an intelligent scan and sign me in. So overall the OS has its cons but it also comes with pros.
???? are you kidding me you are complaining about the headphone jack!!!!!!! seriously!!!!!!! the jack is essential because headphones that uses wires were used 30 years ago, are used today and will be used 30 years into the future simply for the fact everyday objects are not all bluetooth compliant thus having wired headsets makes it a very logical choice. The reason why the dongles are such a popular apple buy is because Apple forced its customers to either get it or not be able to do shit with their phone which is the same thing as, you do what I say period. (not much of a choice there) But of course instead of ditching the piece of "Crapple" fan boys will always say "Yes I was holding the phone wrong." instead of saying well shit this is no good.
Great vid, however, it seems you delved a lot into the features we're already familiar with. I'd like to see more about how it's holding up performance-wise over the course of time you've had the device. Have you run into any lag or stutters and in what areas? Or is the performance still buttery smooth. Just a thought. Anyway still a great vid, thanks👍🏾
I love your videos. So much detail. It helped me to make the final decision on buying the note 9. Now I need a really great screen protector and case. Which one do u recommend?
you should mention that samsung tends to have a policy of 2 major updates per flagship phone. so people who buy a smartphone now can expect to get the new android version twice before only receiving the small updates.
I like my Note 9 much more than my Note 8. Key reason is the touch sensor for the app LibreLink that uses a sensor so I can check my blood-sugar (Type1 diabetes) anytime even during the night-really useful for me. Also here in France Samsung have a rental arrangement €29pm able to change the phone after 4 months that is great. Have bought a Vimble 2 that works OK with Android to start vlogging so should be easier with the S Pen. All good news so far. Thanks for your vlogs.
one question. i've heard we can write and save notes when phone is locked. and for yellow color s pen, the default ink color is yellow. the issue was, when we open saved note, its hard to read the note ink bright yellow ink against white background. is there any solution for this? e.g. change the saved ink color to black, or change the background color to dark theme. i would truly appreciate your response!
Of course it doesn't have a bloody notch. Would would be daft to expect a notch on a device that have a thick bezel to host the camera and sensors.I mean look at the size of top and bottom bezels? Is like 2014 all over again. And no, 3.5mm jack is not relevant. Samsung is only making it worse for themselves. Kind of reminds me Blackberry feeling proud of still using flash back on the days.
But who has the higher screen to body ratio? S8, note 8, s9 and note 9 have a higher screen to body ratio than iphone x. www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/bezel-less-phone-comparison/ Also there are some people that like wired headphones. With the jack you can choose between wired and wireless
Bardhok Ndoji Don’t mind their chunky looking bezels as much as that stupid curved edges- I keep wondering when they may get rid of them??? The glare and distortion is far more annoying than any notch can be.
I love the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 so much. I have the 512GB version and the cost is $1,249.99 (more expensive than the 128GB version), but it's well worth it. It also came with the Fortnite skin (which I will get around to playing, eventually lol). In addition, I also love the option of adding an additional 512GB microsd card for a total of 1TB of storage (WOW!). That's big enough to store all of my graphic design projects. And of course, I love the S-Pen, fingerprint scanner, face recognition, 4000mAh battery, headphone jack, and the bangin' stereo sound. I'm a full-time Graphic Designer with a busy lifestyle, always on the go, and this phone is perfect for me. Goodbye iPhone!

It's a solid phone no doubt but I'm holding out for the Galaxy S10 series. 😎

@Darth Severus stupid asshole
Ayushman Singh hey man have you seen my new videos?
i hate the S10 hole in the screen thats why i am here
The camera quality on the Note9 is slightly better than S9+. I've been using them and notice a clear difference
So note 9's camera is
"Slightly better"? Because you notice a "Clear difference"?
:S
Martin Cielens yeah i also dont know what the fuck he is trying to say. I have the note 9 and my mom has the s9+ and ive compared outdoor shots and i could not notice any fucking difference
ESKAY there is a difference but it is very subtle. there are youtube videos of it.
The Galaxy Note 9 looks promising, I find it more excited than the Note 8 last year. But that price tag though, yikes!

Great thumbnail again with the giant SPen!😀 Love ur content Saf!

Now I'm definitely getting another Note 9 than an iPhone Xs Max
Awesome video, dude. I’m not sure of the Android Pie implementation of clipboard, but the Galaxy Note series phones (and probably the Galaxy S series phones as well) have had a clipboard feature since the Note 2. I’ve been using it since late 2012.
As soon as i want to get the note 9 . samsung starts talk about the note 10 and that it supports 5G smh now i have to wait longer.
lol and then once note 10 is released, note 11 will have 4k resolution, bigger battery and better cameras. dont forget, 5g is not worth getting since samsung said it is going to be selective in how they transmit 5g. plus 5g is not going to be the standard next year, probably not even the year after that.
I struggled with this as well. But I had a Galaxy S6 and it had become extremely laggy. 5G won't be readily available for over a year, so I feel I can jump to a newer phone at that time. If I had a S8 or higher, I would have waited though.
Why would you need 5G?
@@Kolja333 because its faster than 4G and its more futuristic. why wouldn't you want 5G
You'll be waiting forever as newer and better is always on the horizon. 😃
No IR blaster for remote control use. I was a bit bummed about the loss when I upgraded from a Note 3 to a Note 9.
My favorite ,,, Galaxy Note 9 ,,, also love you Super Saf Tv
Great video! I've had my Note 9 for about 3 weeks and have no complaints, very solid phone!
is it good upgrade from s8??
@pemburuORGHipokrit F my s8 is lagging thesedays unless i optimze the phone. Im sure factory resetting will do a better trick but I dont wanna do that lol. I guess we need more ram. Seems like 4gb of ram is definitely not enough for s8. Hoping s10 to have at least 6gb then im on!
@杨子良 12gb of ram is overkill. 6gb enough for small phones and 8gb is good for phablets
So Samsung is intentionally trying to match their exynos CPUs performance to Qualcomms snapdragon even tho they can exceed by a huge margin all because they are partners.
you've been using it for a month but the SIM isn't inserted!
I have a question about the view at 12:47 in the video: Is that an app or is there a case on the phone? The bottom of the screen doesn't look like a normal phone screen.

Another great video. I'm loving this phone. Have it since August 13th, Exynos version and it's just the best phone I have ever owned.
It's fine for me but that just me
I think he meant the placement is better then th note 8. Most of his comments were referring to the note 8 and how the note 9 is better.

Apple can get away with it because there is NO other competition for them (running iOS).
koolkatken fact
I sold my OP6 for a note 9. No regrets
pham That good?
I thought I'd go for the Note9 but I'm still waiting for the iPhones.

Great vid, however, it seems you delved a lot into the features we're already familiar with. I'd like to see more about how it's holding up performance-wise over the course of time you've had the device. Have you run into any lag or stutters and in what areas? you should mention that samsung tends to have a policy of 2 major updates per flagship phone. so people who buy a smartphone now can expect to get the new android version twice before only receiving the small updates.

I like my Note 9 much more than my Note 8. Key reason is the touch sensor for the app LibreLink that uses a sensor so I can check my blood-sugar (Type1 diabetes) anytime even during the night-really useful for me. Also here in France Samsung have a rental arrangement €29pm able to change the phone after 4 months that is great. e.g. change the saved ink color to black, or change the background color to dark theme. i would truly appreciate your response!
Hahaha Isheep much? 😅

Bardhok Ndoji Don’t mind their chunky looking bezels as much as that stupid curved edges- I keep wondering when they may get rid of them??? The glare and distortion is far more annoying than any notch can be.
Yes.. curved screen edges and rounded screen corners.. those are the 2 things that I wish phone manufacturers would stop imitating lol.
I never get a single crush with iphone. Lol laggy samsung
