eBay literally banned me for life and would not give me an explanation. And I had a pretty decent store and made a lot of sales. Didn't have any crazy issues that would warrant something like that, so I still have no idea why that happened. Really ticked me off. Been selling on Mercari ever since, and I'm much happier! That's really scary to think that eBay could do that at any moment, especially if you're putting so much time and effort into it, and also being diligent to follow their policy and customer service. But anyway, glad you are doing well! Enjoy your channel very much! 💚
Wow! That’s so scary and horrible 😭 I’m so sorry that happened to you. Yeah ebay keeps sending me emails too saying that I’m “at risk” because my seller performance dropped (because I haven’t sold in over half a year there). But the fact that they send that every month really irks me 😪 I didn’t include that in the video because I didn’t want to be too negative but jeez, they’re not too friendly 😂 I’m glad Mercari has worked out well for you! They’ve always been a good other outlet for me to sell items, it doesn’t have nearly the same amount of eyes as ebay does, but it’s good and I appreciate the fair seller and buyer protections 🤗 thanks so much for watching!
I just had to share this happened to me as well. I had been a casual seller for a decade and all of the sudden they banned me. They said I was "close to or could be" this other person who did..something. I had never opened another account, have no idea what they are talking about. The ban is for life. Period. I realized then that eBay could never be a main source or supplementary source as being subject to the whims of something like that with no appeal, explanation, or justification. I find it bizarre they won't even tell you what you did (they had no proof they could show me either).
That happened to me too!!
i just commented on another video...i'm a new sub. girl! i have been in a funk for about 5 years. hmmmm...while i haven't been selling on ebay! i don't want to get out of bed! it's such a relief when i see other people being honest about depression! when you're in that dark space, you feel alone and you're the only one! i have gone to therapy, andddd my family has a history of depression, so i did go on meds. i think it helps. for me. i'm actually on 2! lol! good luck! good for you to make the step to talk to someone. when you ARE in that funk, taking a step-with your foot! lol-is even hard! so making that call, or email, whatever...is hard! i'm proud of you! excited to watch more of your videos! ellie is adorable! she looks like a havanese? excited to find the video where you got her and tell. hang in there, sweetie! you're not alone! you have a great cheery attitude!

I’m just now getting some time to sit down and reply through them as it’s been a very busy week for me. I still go in and out of funks, I think it’s pretty normal, to be honest. I’ve noticed the change in seasons seem to be helping (which is strange because I’ve never been seasonally depressed in the past but maybe it’s now come on). Not too sure! The therapy has been super helpful for me so I haven’t done meds yet, still waiting to see if I can change things around or manage on my own 🥰 thank you! Ellie is a Mini Aussiedoodle 🥰 her mom was a mini Aussie and her dad was a toy poodle. She’s so cute I love her Aussie coloring and her bright blue eyes 🥰 Thank you so much for your sweet words of encouragement too!!!
Glad to see you are coming out of your depression a bit-- I totally understand what you are going through. Happy you are getting the help you need. With eBay it’s like feeding the beast and it can be stressful if you are part time and not high volume. I struggled keeping my Top Rated Seller status because I didn’t have enough sales. Losing that status was the best thing! Now I stop worrying about listing and just take the sales as the come. I had turned my store off for a month and haven’t listed a thing since turning it on a month ago and amazingly enough I’ve been getting as many sales as before. I do send very good offers and I think that’s helping… but frankly I now feel free to just list when and if I want. I might do a huge sale at some point this year and getting rid of everything and get out of the eBay game altogether but we’ll see.

I am a reseller, which is how I found your channel. After watching this video, I promise you I am hear to stay..reselling content or not. I am so sorry to hear about what you're going through but I love that you are so open, honest and REAL about it! I suffer from depression too and have been struggling a lot lately. No one really gets it and to hear someone having very similar experiences to mine makes me feel not so alone. I just sat down today to try to focus on restarting my reselling business from scratch after crashing and burning. Looking forward to the next video ❤

Yeah depression is rough. 5 years ago I didn’t realize believe it was a “thing,” always thought you could just fix it with some exercise or a better diet - but sometimes it just doesn’t work like that. It’s more frustrating than anything haha but that’s awesome that you were able to sit down and take some time to hash out some goals and a new strategy 🤗 you learn as you go and there’s definitely no “right” or “wrong” way of doing it. Hi Brittany, I’ll definitely still watch your channel. I relate to how you view things. And when it comes to reselling, we can darn well do what we want, lol after all, It’s OUR personal business and there’s no right way for everyone.
I admire all the various resellers on UA-cam and find them motivating but I do it how I feel like doing it, on any given day. Some days are spent gallivanting out and about, some are home and puttering with cooking and cleaning or spent comfy on my bed watching a variety of you tube videos, Then there are the days that I get in the mode of steaming, photographing and listing. It waxes and wanes, that’s totally my personality.
So ya, just keep in doing YOU ( don’t you LOVE that expression?:)) It’s fun and refreshing to see the latest happenings in your life and is always good food for thought. So thank you for that. 🙏💕

I find even balance can become robotic, routine, and mundane. Then I want to go on an adventure. It seems to me life is constantly weaving in and out of order and chaos.

Hahaha yeah I think you described life pretty accurately there 😂 yeah it’s weird, I’ve always been pretty good about getting to the gym and exercising despite the season of life that I’m in, it’ll help some days and other days it just doesn’t 🤷♀️

I agree Ebay's horrible returns policy gives me so much anxiety and it is such a headache. I never feel motivated to list on Ebay because of it.

Omg girl I feel like everything you said is pretty much me right now as well! Well I'm still reselling, but therapy I felt really helped me and yeah December we all got sick so I barely got back into work mode in January. I just told my husband yesterday I need to declutter a different section of the house like each week! Definitely on a journey of just doing things that are better us and better for our health. Also just trying to surround myself with people this year that bring light and positivity to my life.
So since your channel is changing a bit I would love to see your process of what you do to the house before selling it. Also, I would love to see the finances of how it works but not sure if thats too much personal info to share.
Ahhh so weird how we all go through such similar waves and seasons of life right? Therapy is so helpful 😫❤️ I’m glad I finally started it. I love that it’s online too so I never have to worry about switching therapists lol. We have been getting on and off again colds since the holidays, it’s been so frustrating 😭 and yesssss to the decluttering and surrounding ourselves with positivity 🥰 love it! I hated eBay I relate with anxiety... Not in reselling anymore but whenever I have sponsors for UA-cam I get so anxious so much so that sometimes I don't know if it's worth the money .. I'm excited to see the shift in videos
Yeah I actually enjoyed eBay for the first year or so but the requesting returns/refunds started increasing rapidly in 2021 for silly reasons that I said I didn’t accept returns for but ebay always sides with the buyer so it was a lost cause. I completely understand that, thankfully I have a few very sweet, and understanding sponsors who have been lovely with this season of life for me. I’ve been very appreciative of that. Ahh I’m sorry to hear that 😣 I hope things get better once and for all this year. Just hang in there, everything will get better with time! 🤗 Going for walks/getting fresh air and sunshine always helps clear my mind and gather my thoughts! Hopefully that’s do-able for you and where you’re at.
I just quit eBay too. I've been selling on and off since 2001. They are going downhill.
Wow! That’s a long time of selling there! What were you primary reasons for leaving?
Yeah I accidentally sent a North Face Jacket to the wrong customer and the buyer kept it (I had proof of it being delivered to her from USPS) and Mercari wouldn’t do anything for me, I was so angry :/ and of course it was the first sale out of 120+ sales that I put the wrong label on
Dang girl I’m so sorry 😫 it’s frustrating when people don’t do the right thing. These things happen though, try to not let it bring you down ❤️ we all make mistakes!

I sell on eBay bc my husband helped source a ton of hard goods, but I’ve been wanting to branch out into clothing more and was leaning towards Mercari over Poshmark, bc I don’t think posh will be a good fit for me. Can you make a video talking about your experience w/ those platforms and what you like about them.

I am with you. I literally just set up my eBay to sell items but right now I’m just cleaning out. 😂 But as a buyer on eBay I have a good score. However I’m sure I’ll get lost because of how popular eBay is so I would like to venture to another platform. I just don’t know anything about Mercari yet. Having no feedback,etc, and trying to start there. Hmmm. I’m already like this 🤯. I so want this venture to be doable for me. I lost my job and I never made very much so I’m not even aiming for 6 figures by any stretch.

eBay is absolute rubbish for any kind of clothing re-selling, biggest fees and fussiest customers,always lost money there

I think you can! I never accepted returns but eBay has a way of forcing you to accept some depending on the claim 😪 I don’t know if it’s gotten better or worse since May of 2021, but at the time it was just a little too much for my liking
