Two the both of you...CONGRATS for finding one another--all but by accident!! Which, is, how I "stumbled" across this channel! And it is EXCEPTIONAL!! I have worked in "entertainment" for around 45 year (yep...I'm not a "youngster"...well, at least at heart anyway!) and like to find any and every type of "channel" that is devoted to film (first one I ever worked on was a little thing that at the time had no idea would eventually become world famous--something called: "Blade Runner"! Though I had already worked on commercials and TV--yes, THAT "thing"! lol) I find informative, thoughtful, well presented and illuminating. Yours hits on all the "buttons"...and then some. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with what you've done here !! And it is all but a shame you haven't done SOOO much better here for views and subscribers...when so much other "schlock" can garner ridiculous amounts of both...when yours is so superbly presenting and done!! BRAVO/BRAVA!! What makes it all the more unfortunate, is that you seem to have put your projects/videos somewhat aside and post so little nowadays! Saddening when something so upper tier in quality, knowledge, and information goes unrewarded--and sadly, that is far to often the case in life in general--and especially on You Tube which is flooded with so much lesser quality clap-trap! But as the saying goes: "Ya get what ya pay for" which is what far too many who seem to have to have lost the ability to actually THINK and eat a "full meal" as opposed to "fast food"...and not for thought!! Whereas, in instances such as your own, it is put out there for the love of it and fulfilling nourisnment! And few things--in whatever part of life that might be--are as noble and worthwhile! So just wanted to let you know, that from someone inside the "entertainment industry" (also worked in music as well) you are HIGHLY appreciated and regarded! Wish I could assist you in your desires of where/how to achieve your objectives/goals!! Nevertheless--MUCH good luck and karma! May your lives combined together, no matter what else...continue to bring you love, joy, happiness and mutual enlightenment along your paths! Keep Believing!
You're telling me even the tunnel system was inspired by something real?!? Haha wow - You're videos always make me feel dumb btw but in the best possible way 😂 Like I don't think I caught that the hotel had a different design/colour palette compared to the flashback and the "modern day" parts. It's just all these little things that come out and give a film so much personality and I think as a viewer we all feel the impact of these decisions even if we don't pick up on every little thing. Also interesting what you said about how the characters are "like board game pieces" I didn't think of it but that's so true! They become iconic through their unique looks like that and stand out, but not in a too over the top kind of way. It looks natural until you think about all of them standing side by side and how the though process behind the design woould have gone. But yeah, I love when your vids give me a little more opportunity to pick up on even more though haha. Love that title sequence too leading up to the El Royale sign too, looked great! And what an underrated (I'll say it:) Masterpiece. I've watched it multiple times myself and it's not that old so that's saying something haha
We learn SO MUCH every time we do a new video! I would LOVE to see the Cal-Neva revived to some form of glory (it was never a very greatly designed hotel, but there's so much potential there)! We are truly so grateful, as always, for your views and feedback and are so glad that you enjoyed and learned some new tidbits about the film. It really is a great one!!! :D
