What you think. 250r be more fun? Just wondering if the 500 is to much? Back when I used to ride all the time I tried a cr500 and it was way to much for me. I’m 210
I weigh 130lb and am 16, this was my dad's birthday gift and I ride it all the time. If I can ride it jumping off from a 250r you should be perfectly fine! First and second gear is a little jumpy when you are getting used to it, but it's by far the most fun bike I've ride and I've rode a track 450. Perfect balance of power/weight/grippy or fishtaily depending on what you like, it goes on. Love these bikes.
I have an 84 XR250R, identical to this 500 in the video appearance-wise. I've had it since 1990. I rode a 500 back in the late '70's when I was about 15y/o. 500 is a widow maker! Too much bike for a 15 y/o at 130 lbs? I'd like just a little more power for wheelies, thats about it.
01:28 Man, those hard ruts can phukk you up! Gotta get to the point where you ride so fast you just kiss the tops of 'em. But I would never ride a widow maker.. the xr500r. I'll stick to my 84 xr250r, though I'd prefer a 350.

just got a super clean 84; xr500r the bottom fuel joint broke can't find another one to replace it, such a shame the bike only has 1.3k miles on it. got from orginal owner with all paperwork title registration and all that. hope the shop im taking It to this weekend has one:/ otherwise idk what im gonna do with it.

I took the baffle out of my 84 xr250r back in 1991. One screw & it pops out. It still sits on a shelf.
