I'm in love with this place and I haven't even been there yet :) I used to live on another Dutch island in the Caribbean, but Saba has some next-level scenery. It looks so pristine and relaxing.
I 'very been to Saba several times and have many friends on the island. It is the most beautiful and safe place. And very friendly people live on the island. You really don't want to go home after your visit!❤
Amazing Island to visit. Was there in 2013 with my lovely daughter. We were there on a excursion from St Martin. It's actually where they filmed the original King Kong movie
Hi Trev. Very nice video you've made! I'm one of the owners of Haiku House on Saba which is located just above Queens. Good to hear you've had a lovely time there.
You were in The Bottom and no one suggested that you see the wonderful mural covering the sanctuary of the Catholic Church? But then, it is always good to save something for your next trip to Saba. Get a window seat on the starboard (right) side of the plane; you will enjoy seeing the cliffs as you arrive.
@@ellenlockhart4494 we just so happened to be there when Saba Day was kicking off so everyone was geared towards that but we really do want to go back soon it’s an amazing place.
Saba wasn’t in the original King Kong movie at all. My friend’s dad made that up and it spread. So much so, that a shot of Saba does appear in the 2005 version. Fast and loose with a lot of “facts” about Saba, but at least Ti pronounced the name of the island like Sabans do!
Yes, and it has become a pet peeve of mine, but my friend finds it hilarious, and the tourist office apparently doesn’t mind a little white lie. Hey, people can fact check it right? LOL. Skull island in the original was filmed in San Pedro harbor with a painted background for the cliffs.
I would definitely get a phone number or two of the island taxi services which are at the ferry port, a hotel, or the airport. Walking is tough unless you are strolling around The Bottom settlement or Windward side due to how many inclines there are on the island. Renting a car is possible but its probably a very different process due to how small this island is so just get a taxi.
Great video, loving the soundtrack as well ❤

Lovely little island. My aunt in law is Saban as well.
FYI, There’s closer to 2,000 people who are permanent residents on Saba.

Wow! That’s wild since it’s on the travel brochure on Saba, Wikipedia, and Smithsonian magazine. What a rumor!

It’s not in Wikipedia anymore. 😅
Correction, the one second clip of Saba is in Kong: Skull Island (2017). I thought 2005 sounded a bit too early.
Of what ethnicity is your wife? She's beautiful!
What did you guys think about Saba? Perhaps the best hidden gem in the Caribbean?
Do you need a car or can you walk 🚶♀️
