Building a Bigfoot Light Box Diorama

- Back at it again making light boxes, this time complete with miniature forest scene and of course, Bigfoot! Crafted on the extra cheap side because you don't need much to make a box light.
Kept it on the minimal side because my brother likes things like that and it was a gift for him. Totally could do something more elaborate with this same concept though!
Also youtube really killed the footage at the beginning with compression so I hope you still had some idea of what was going on even with all the artifacting lol... let's just say it was stylistic because it was supposed to be bad quality footage anyway.

I was painting something during the intro of this video and my hands started shaking because of the spooks! But also I feel like I need to drop everything I'm doing and absorb every detail of each of your videos cause they're just so jam packed with the good stuff. I love the historical and anecdotal interludes. I died at your rusty clamp.
I suspect this channel will explode soon like Studsons. The quality is top notch!
Oh no, please don't make me the cause of a painting related incident! Gotta paint responsibly. Haha thank you so much, I'm really glad you liked everything! Editing is a constant battle of should some of the non-crafting parts be eliminated or not, so that's nice to hear.
I think you’re coming over a little desperate dude. Tone it down a little. You have the top ranked comment on every single Mechanical Fiend vid! Play it cool 😎
I grew up in Washington state so I was surrounded by bigfoot believers and am one myself. This is awesome.
Ahh that's actually so cool, can totally see bigfoot making a home up in Washington haha! Really glad you could enjoy it~
Those muddy footie-prints reminded me instantly of Fred Flintstone coming home after Wilma has washed the floor. (Mud all the way up to mid-leg!)
Well I must admit that I like that comparison very much hahaha! Now I'm just imagining a similar show with Bigfoot, love it!
I really hope you blow up soon! Your work is amazing and your editting is top notch! Underrated gem underrated gem!
Ahhhh I don't know about all that, but I appreciate you saying that so so much, seriously. Thank you, really happy you could enjoy the stuff I make~
A tip from woodworking when making up a box like that is to use masking tape as clamps! It usually provides enough clamping force for small craft projects - but you could also totally clamp them after setting them up initially with the tape :)
That's actually a great idea, I'll have to keep it in mind for the future! Sometimes I think I really like to make myself struggle as much as possible haha, though I don't think I had masking tape when this was made. Thank you so much for trying to lessen my pain lol it is much appreciated!
@@MechanicalFiend No problem! Things are only easy if you know! And you can't know unless.. you know!
I don’t have a Big Foot story per se, but I did take a four week backpacking trip in Wyoming and I bet by the end of it half of us smelled like one. Great video. Thanks.
Just imagine, there could be someone out there telling a story of their bigfoot encounter, but it was actually a group of backpackers. Hahaha thank you, really glad you enjoyed~
Love this, not only due to the usual excellence in your work, but also because of the memories of some unexplained encounters I had back in my deep woods camping days. There are, indeed, things present in the forests and in the swamplands in this part of the country, that are not commonly seen or experienced.
There are many things in this world that we know very little about, so many mysteries! Sounds like you have a lot of interesting stories haha~
I really like all the little things an extra effort you take to make your crafts stand apart from every other DIY.
Much appreciated.
Ahhh well I appreciate that so much, always happy to hear you can enjoy!
WHY IS THIS CHANNEL SO UNDER-RATED??? ITS ACTUALLY A CRIME.
It is actually a crime how nice you are! Oh my goodness, seriously I appreciate you saying that so much. I'm honestly already pretty blown away by the amount of people that are interested~
Wasn't expecting the cinematic master piece at the beginning 💟 The light box turned out amazing!
Hahaha gotta throw something in if I get an idea, super glad you liked the result!
Wonderful light box project. I love the way you used real dried plants 🌱
So happy you could enjoy it! Dried plants are actually really fun to work with! Maybe not always the most practical when they're really delicate haha, but super beautiful~
That Chewbacca edit gave me the first laugh I've had in weeks. Thank you
Wow your crafts keep getting better and better every time I watch your videos
You think so? Wow, I'm really happy to hear that! Never quite sure if there is improvement, but of course I hope so. Thank you, super glad you enjoyed and I'll work hard to make the best stuff I can~
he's so beautiful i love him
I must admit there is something about Bigfoot that is oddly lovable. Haha thank you so much, really happy you liked him!
Brilliant! nice build... had headphones on during the intro, some audio sensory stuff going on there, spooky!
Thank you! I was really hoping people might wear headphones haha, had a lot of fun layering in all the sounds. Glad you thought it was spooky~
That's pretty nifty. Fur added a little something to the silhouette.
Well I am certainly happy to hear the struggling with it wasn't for naught then haha. Glad you thought so!
That is cool!! It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to create something unique & beautiful! 🖖🏻
Absolutely, you can always do something with things that are pretty accessible! Really glad you could enjoy it, thank you!
This was incredible. Loved this video!!
Ahhh thank you so much, really glad you could enjoy!
Cute and scary at the same time! Go forth, my Paduan, and forage some more in the woods for projects to come!
The best combo hahaha! Not to worry my friend, I am certain I'll be out foraging in my backyard for many future projects~
Best finding of 2021, why UA-cam took so long to recommend this beautiful channel
Ahhh oh my goodness that is far too kind, so happy to hear you could enjoy everything~
YOU'RE SO CREATIVE I LOVE THIS
Ahhh thank you so much, so happy you enjoyed it~
TeeHee! "I'm. So. Cold!" Nice Big Blair foot footage😁 And amazing work too😍
The footage is always the spookiest when it's low quality and you can't actually see anything that's happening hahaha! Thank you so much, glad you could enjoy~
I really like this video! In my opinion the addition of the fur was absolutely worth it. It made Bigfoot's outlines more hazy which is exactly what you want for an cryptozoological creature!
So glad you could enjoy! Really happy you thought the fur turned out ok haha- I'm always pretty bad at working with it, so it's a relief to hear that. Thank you so much~
Wow super cool build. I’m very impressed with your work. I like what you said at the end!
Haha super glad you liked it, this one was a really fun to work on even if it was a little chaotic!
Love the light showing through the eyes.
Definitely think it gives Bigfoot just a little more life, right? Glad you liked it~
Love how this came out! And poking the eyes out so they glow is a really neat idea!
Really glad you liked the result! Poking the eyes out may have felt slightly wrong, but I think Bigfoot would agree it was necessary haha.
@@MechanicalFiend haha, poor Bigfoot😂 it's like a tattoo, painful but worth it😅
Dude this looks awesome! You’re so creative
Thank you so much, so happy you liked the result!
Modeling, concept, Lighting and environment...ooh and editing n sound n story telling n....!
( don't know what and)
Are beyond my head..! Nice Work. ~namaste~
Hahaha well really glad you could enjoy everything, ahh that's seriously too kind! Really appreciate it so much~
Now that I think about it..... this 'thinking' thing is gonna catch on if I keep it up ....is that old Sasquee should be behind the screen.
The lore over BigFoot is that it is rarely seen. His footprints are, and therefore having them in front of the screen is correct, but the fleeting sightings of him/her should really only be seen when the light comes on and the shadow is cast against the screen - coaxing shrieks and ter-roar from one and all who catch a glimpse of the ol' fella.
That is definitely a cool idea, I think that would work a little better if the environment had more going on than it does in this so that it's still interesting to look at when the light is off (which is most of the time). Would love to see a version like that~
The eyes glowed ! Awesome , love your work !
Yes, that was a priority from when I started making it! I knew the eyes needed to have the light pass through haha, thank you again my friend~
Very entertaining and excellent production quality
Appreciate that a ton, really happy you thought so! Thank you so much~
Your crafts are so amazing! You should try and make a book nook, it would be right up your ally.
Thank you so much, glad you could enjoy! I absolutely would have already made a book nook by now if I actually had room for one on my book shelf haha! But it's pretty small and full of books, so might have to push that one off for a while unfortunately~
Hi, I'm brazilian and I loved. You're amazing!!!!!!!!! S2
Ahhh that's so kind, thank you so much! Super happy you could enjoy~
Absolutely fantastic work MechanialFiend, I've been binge watching all your videos. Your art is amazing and your commentary is spot on. Do you edit your videos too? Thank you for Squatching!!!
Indeed, there is no team... it's just me here lol. Appreciate all the kind words so much, really glad you could enjoy everything~
Wow, just wow. I'm going to have to try this. I would love to have something like that on my wall!!!! Cheers from Canada aka Bigfoot Country!
Ooo would love to see it if you do end up making something! Wish you a ton of luck with it and hope you have fun~
This was so awesome to watch
That makes me the happiest to hear, so glad you could enjoy~
Great looking bigfoot
Thank you for the absolutely wonderful bigfoot beats! So good!
@@MechanicalFiend thanks. Feel free to use any of my beats. I have most on UA-cam. 👍
Wow the diorama looks really cool! And the video is really entertaining like i love the little history section and the intro wich really set the mood for the video and i love the overall editting you did
So happy you enjoyed! I'm really glad to hear that you liked the non-crafting parts as well, my biggest debate in editing is always if I should cut that stuff or not. Thank you so much for saying all that, it really means a lot~
Oh my goodness that is frightening but super creative Great job Keep up the great work!
Oh nooo I tried to balance the spooks with some funny stuff to lessen it haha! Glad you liked it regardless though, thank you so much!
@@MechanicalFiend You are a very nice person and I love your work it is soo amazing
Ahhh that's really too kind, thank you seriously- it means a lot more than you know! I'm super happy you could enjoy the stuff I make~
That was awesome and you're practically making it all by hand so, it looks perfectly unique! I quite dig it over all! And the intro was just freaking great! I loved it personally... but, you gots a weirdness I quite like.
Hahaha well thank you, always glad you can enjoy! I have so much fun filming and putting together all the intros and extra bits~
@@MechanicalFiend you are quite welcome, and your joy of making your videos definitely comes out! Thank you for being so responsive and I hope you are having a blessed week!
That's really neat.
Well hey, you're really neat too, thanks!
Your editing is *on point*
Ahhh that's honestly one of my favorite things to hear, thank you so much! So happy you liked it~
Really love your channel. New sub here🙂💛
That's really too kind thank you, glad you liked it! I actually found your channel a few days ago and was watching some of your videos- so well done! Your work is amazing, such cool projects!
@@MechanicalFiend Hey thanks. I feel like a bit of an amateur compared to your stuff as far as the quality of your edits and overall presentation. :P Love your wit and personality, and all your editing and cinematography. I love all of it! Really good stuff and thoroughly enjoy it. And your welcome for squatching ;)
Oh my goodness, not at all! Your videos are really well done, seriously. The animated elements that you've included in some of them were especially cool and inspiring, love how it all comes together! That's really nice of you to say though, super glad you enjoyed everything~
@@MechanicalFiend Well thanks very much. :). Glad you’ve enjoyed them. Looking forward to watching more of your content. It’s really refreshing to see such a vibrant personality and someone who has so much fun and passion with their craft, both in the crafting and the videography. 😊
Passion is pretty much all I've got haha, so at the very least I'm glad that comes across. That's really all way too nice, still learning a lot all the time- have much to improve on. Really means a ton though, don't think I can properly express it, but I just appreciate it so much!
Your editing is so gold ✌🏻☺️
Well hey, appreciate that so much, thank you! Love doing fun stuff with editing when I can!
So good! That was a lot of fun, thanks!
Well hey, so happy you could enjoy it, thank you so much!
Holy freak!! You're incredible!! It's like all these similar ideas I have but executed 10x better 🤯 and the cinematography 👏 I'm soo happy I found your channel, you inspire me!
Well I am so so happy for you to have found yourself here as well! Thank you for all the nice words, I'm sure your ideas are wonderful- always glad to find someone on a similar wavelength haha~
Your are creative AND entertaining! Great video!!!!!
Ahhh and you're so very kind, thank you! Really happy you could enjoy it~
Well Done
Well coming from you that means a lot on this one, thank you!
this is so awesome! You have the BEST vibe!
Ahhhh well I'm really glad you think so haha! I appreciate it a lot, super happy you enjoyed~
This is SO good!!!
So glad you could enjoy it, thank you so much~
Wow! This is great!
Ahhh thank you so much, glad you could enjoy it~
You got skillz
This is fantastic! What a cool present. I actually saw a big foot like creature in an illuminated manuscript in a library somewhere in Europe. I apologize I can remember the exact library or the exact illuminated manuscript. I know it's accessible online.
Ooo that sounds really cool, so many creatures reminiscent to Bigfoot pop up all over the place, super interesting! Appreciate you sharing and so glad you could enjoy the project~
Good post, wicked light box. I made a diorama of the train compartment on the Hogwarts Express when the dementors entered the carriage just before Prof. Lupin woke up and saved Harry. I made it inside a shoe box.
That sounds like such a cool project, I would absolutely love to see that! What a great concept for a diorama!
@@MechanicalFiend Sadly we moved and downsized and we loss quite a bit of stuff, Harry Potter shoe box included. I have a photo of it I'll try and dig it out and show you. It was a co-op with my son for his school project.
Really Nice!!
Super happy you could enjoy it, thank you (again)~
Awesome!
Really glad you could enjoy, thank you so much!
Mate u soo good!
That's really so nice of you to say, thank you! Glad you enjoyed~
Love it! 👏👍
Thank you so much!
Hello! I found your account and already love the work you have done and how you edit your videos. Your creativity and humor are wonderful. I am looking forward to your next projects. Greetings from germany :)
Oh my goodness that is so nice of you to say, really glad you could enjoy the videos! Hope the future projects don't disappoint haha I'll do my best to keep improving. Thank you so much~
@@MechanicalFiend Hahah :D Don't worry. I will not be dissapointed. If you keep doing things with love and soul they will turn out amazing. Or to say it like Gandalf: "If in doubt...always follow your nose". You are awesome girl! :)
Really can't tell you how much it means to hear that, thank you, you're too kind! If Gandalf says so, guess we gotta take his word for it- I'll absolutely continue to make projects with passion haha that's all I've got!
How are you not famous yet?! :0
Thank goodness I'm not, that is truly a terrifying thought! Appreciate you saying that though, thank you~
Thanks for Squatching. Ha!!
Gotta sneak in a pun whenever you can haha~
Once again very nice I have a few stories and plenty of back up from a lot of people that thought I was nuts at first, then realized, well pale faced and scared out of their wits won't talk to any media
This is so cooool
So happy you could enjoy~
Hello verry nice... Amazing.. I love the details.. I love modeling landscape.. I have subscribe your Chanel. Sorry my Englisch I am from Switzerland... Greetings from Switzerland. Alex 😊😊👍👍
Oh my goodness no, your English is great! Super happy you could enjoy it and thank so much for all the nice words~
You are welcome.. I love modeling landscape.. I also have a nice Chanel. Greetings from Switzerland. Alex, 😉😉😊😊👍👍
It’s so cool
wow wow good
Glad you could enjoy it!
I enjoyed squatchin! Lol
So glad to hear it! This was such a fun video to put together~
(Sorry for three comments in a row I am catching up on my subs ^^;;;) Holy crap the beginning video was so suspenseful haha
Halloween is the one day a year Bigfoot can walk among us mortals without being out of place... Maybe you did see him? O: The truth is out there..... The fur really does add a nice wispy-ness to his outline that makes him seem super fuzzy. This was such a fun video and I loved seeing the end result, the eyes are super creepy! Also Clampbacca was hilarious XD
Oh my goodness never apologize for multiple comments, would really prefer to thank you for them- don't think I can ever express how much comments mean to me! Especially glad to hear that the fur was worth it, every time I pull it out for a project I swear I feel a chill run down my spine hahaha. Again, so happy you could enjoy everything, it really means so much and can't tell you how much all your comments are appreciated~
@@MechanicalFiend That's the chill of a project that's turning out AWESOME. Seriously when I saw I had three videos to watch of yours I was so happy, I love your content so much 💙 I hope you enjoy making it as much as we enjoy seeing it!
Ahhh that's way too nice, I'm just so glad to hear that! Absolutely love making this stuff, even if nobody was watching I'd still be doing this lol. But it's amazing that other people are also interested, thank you so much again~
That was just a great video. Thank you for the extra effort. The box is amazing and the idea could be used for so many things. Did you really get that kind of diffusion with one layer of parchment? It looks "complete"
Ahhh that's super kind, really happy you could enjoy it! Yes! It's one layer! The farther you can put your diffusion layer from your light source, the softer and more even your light will be. Even in a small box like this, as much as you can maximize that distance, the better! Parchment paper actually creates a surprisingly nice light quality haha~
@@MechanicalFiend Im just into my first book nook. Thats really helpful Thanks
So cool, wish you luck with it! If you want to share, would love to see it when you're done!
U r just soooo beautiful😍😍
I love u i like ur way to do hacks
Hahaha I don't know if they're hacks, but that is so very kind of you to say, glad you could enjoy~
@@MechanicalFiend sure im more happy that u saw my comment😍😍😍
@@MechanicalFiend actually im 14 years old and i saw ur UA-cam channel and i love it so much im from Egypt💕💕
when I was growing up, all we were worried about was Bigfoot, UFOs, and the Bermuda Triangle... oh, and killer bees / =
Noice
Thank you once again my friend
Awesome Sister you are ! More research on the Native Americans and how they talk about them you’ll get more accurate information. They are across the country they’re not located in one area only.
I never said they were just in one area! Only mentioned that area because it's the first sighting in recorded history, but as I mentioned, there have been lots of similar stories cross culturally for much longer! Even included a clip of a cave drawing from a Native American tribe in this haha~
@@MechanicalFiend Thats nice
yay firstt
