  • If you wish to watch a video with wondrous work, I plead you not to seek it here. These few minutes are full only of the dire, dastardly, and deplorable. For this is the tearful tale of a tiny house built from trash.
In this Series of Unfortunate Events, we pay homage to the late Aunt Josephine by crafting her humble house atop the hill. May she lay languid with the leeches of Lake Lachrymose.
So sorry I forgot to include a warning in the video, but in the final shots there is a section with flashing lights (lightning) so please be careful, thank you and huge apologies for overlooking it!
Ahh yes, back with another project that has taken almost two months because it was super difficult and I decided I needed to shoot my own version of the movie for an intro. This has been said too many times, but next time I'll calm down a little and do something less complicated... maybe.
Cool people that have sent me projects!

@@Turjak_art Not for having flashing lights, but for not including a warning beforehand! It's standard practice in any film/video content to include a warning because it can potentially trigger a seizure for people that have epilepsy, which we obviously don't want to do!

I love the movie more too! I just feel like everything from the deaths to the character interactions were done better, especially since they were done with less time. Also, just felt like the movie had it's vibe figured out better. The show misses the mark just a little trying to mix comedy with tragedy.

For sure, even though I think the movie would have benefited a lot from having more time for the story (if only they made a whole series of movies... one can dream haha), they really captured the atmosphere of the story world so well. The movie was my first introduction to the series so I might be a bit biased, but I too kind of prefer it to the netflix series. Everything from the atmosphere, the enviroment building, the costumes and even the choice of actors was simply nailed better. The only flaw is in the story, but it's hard to fit even just 3 of the 13 books in one hour and a half.

At first, I was angry over the movie. They tried to fit 3 books into an hour and a half! Of course they were going to miss a lot of key scenes that made us love the books. Netflix, however, also messed up a few scenes so while it's truer to the books, it is also not a true adaption, which still makes me sad.
That being said, there are 2 things specifically from the movie that I wish had been in the Netflix adaption that would have added another level to it.
    - Violet's hair style - it's so weird but so fitting on the girl I imagined from the books
    - Klaus's Library Mind - when Klaus is searching for information within his mind, it makes sense that his mind would be categorized like a library
Anyway, this was amazing. It's my first video from your channel (not entirely sure why it's on my recommended feed) and I am very pleased with the end result!! You put so much effort into this, including a lot of details that weren't needed but are greatly appreciated!

I am so so sorry for the super late response to this! Totally agree that the format of being a single movie was doomed to never be able to fully capture the story. Also with the different nature of the screen vs. written novels, there are always going to be some changes that people aren't going to like. That being said, there are also a lot of cool things (liked you mentioned) they were able to do to present the story that they couldn't have done in a book too. That makes me so happy to hear, definitely was a little bit unsure if it would be light enough to stay secure to the cliff, but it ended up being surprisingly sturdy! Really glad you enjoyed it, though apologies if it brought back any of the anxiety haha! Thank you so much for all the kind words~

Well the mod podge was something that I absorbed from other modelmakers doing their own versions of water! It's a super cool technique, was really fun to try it!

...oh, specially such beautiful details as the photos on that tiny cords in the interior make the model so unique. And so much "love of detail" in it without being able to see it (easily) from the outside makes the whole thing a wonderful secret. Amazing work!

Ever since your appearance on Craftpod I've been going through all your craft videos. Your videos had shown up from time to time on my recommendations, but I think maybe I was subconsciously avoiding them because the end-results on the thumbnails looked so nice that my brain might have been like "this uses expensive materials" and just saved them on "to watch later" and forgetting to watch them.
But your Craftpod episode totally made me realize I was missing out big time! It's one of the most inspirational channels I've come across and it's fascinating seeing the sollutions you find with at-hand materials. I've been learning a lot. Plus, they are very entertaining and well-made videos, with nice ambiance, and phenomenal cinematography!
Keep up the good work, take care!

Honestly almost don't even know what to say, I appreciate this so so much. Thank you for giving the channel a watch and of course for giving Craftpod a listen! Building with recycled materials is really one of the most fun parts of the process for me- trying to figure out what pieces could become different parts of the build. Ahhh thank you so much for all the kind words, seriously they mean more than I can possibly say in words. So happy to hear you could enjoy the videos~
Hope you take care as well my friend and thank you again!

Your video has just been recommended for me and oh my god, you have amazing skills for miniature, the details... the details were the most impressive part for me, even the pipe detail you did it!! honestly, how much time did you spend on this masterpiece? It's just perfect, amazing! A Series of Unfortunate Events was a movie I loved so much as child, it's so good to see this

    • @MechanicalFiend

Oh man that's way too nice, really happy you could enjoy everything, thank you so much! This project took me about 2 months I think if you count the video. If not, maybe more like 1 and a half haha, but totally could have finished it way faster. Lots of procrastinating along the way! Same with the movie, re-watching it and building this absolutely just made me appreciate it even more.
