Wow that is pretty cool how you made the bubbles and how you used Styrofoam to place them to dry in between coatings and that is adorable the letters with a toothpick the cake is beautiful great job
Absolutely love your creativity! Thank you for sharing this idea with us. I only have one suggestion for future videos. Just tone down the music a tiny bit so we can hear you even more clearer 😊 Absolutely awesome work!
You can make the bubbles in advance, even 2 weeks in advance. Once they harden, they'll be fine. In the fridge I had them on the cake for a day and they were fine.
@@katiecoynemypsychiceyes666 oh man I never responded to this. I’m so sorry!!! Yes I usually dip twice minimum. Sometimes I will dip 3x for the bigger sizes. It depends on how I see it’s drying or if it looks too thin.
Hi! I've actually saved some accidentally and I found them months later, nothing was wrong with them. I'm just not sure about the eating part but honestly I don't think anyone would want to eat them anyway because they get hard and have no flavor. So I would say they last a very long time!
Hi! I just blow the little ballooons up and then deflate and re blow them and kind of hold them up higher to not allow the balloon to become oval. So I’m basically pinching the balloon up higher in a circular shape and then tying it so it keeps that circular shape.
I'm not sure. What would be the purpose of adding an oil spray? Do you just want them shiny? If you do end up buying some edible petal dust, (you can get it on amazon) some of them have a pearl look to them which makes the balloons look a little shiny
Hi! I haven't tried jello. I feel like it should work, but then again there could be other additives which could affect how it works. I just buy unflavored gelatin.
Hi this looks so beautiful thnq so much ….I have a doubt that for hw many days this gelatin Balls stay in room temperature r we have to store in any air tight box n is this safe to fix it on fresh cakes …..it doesn’t melt on fresh cream cake ??
Yes you can store them in an airtight container for a few days. I left mine out in room temp, not in a container for a few days. They stayed nice and hard. Once they are hard, they won't melt on a buttercream cake :) I even attached them with buttercream to the buttercream cake and was able to put the cake back in the fridge overnight and the gelatin balls stayed nice and hard.
@@LittleHunnysCakery oh perfect! I wasn’t sure if the balloons would melt since you microwave the gelatin cuz water balloons are usually thinner. Thank you!
This was wonderful - I have wanted to know how to do this!-except the music was a bit distracting and didn’t match your sweet video! (My opinion, of course!🤪)
I haven't tried gel food coloring yet. I've always used the powder. Maybe if it's a super tiny amount of gel coloring like the tiniest bit on a toothpick it should still set.
Hi there! I just cut them out with a cutter and glued them to the cake with my edible glue. You can put toothpicks in the letters to get them to stay in the cake as well.
@@pricillabanda6740 maybe if you were to put it in a double broiler. So just put a small bowl over a pot with water. Bring the water to a simmer. Then you could heat the gelatin in that bowl. But the only thing is- I’m not sure the time conversion from microwave to double broiler. Maybe just watch it until it melts and comes together?
No I have not experienced them getting soft. I think once you let them dry enough, they get nice and hard and they stayed that way even after attaching them to the cake.
Supposed to feel very firm!! and if you pushed hard enough on them, they should crack. Leave them overnight. Make sure you dip them a few times. I think if it's only dipped 1-2 times that they won't firm up as hard
sounds like maybe too much liquid vs the gelatin or they didn't set long enough. I've had some that turned to mush because they didn't sit long enough...
Although I find the music on this just awful :/ The video for the bubbles is fab. Great angle for us viewers. Unfortunately I had to mute it but thank you for sharing the method and Im off to have a go.
Oh noooo ok so that just means that the excess gelatin was dripping towards the front. I angle mine so that the excess drips more to the back of the balloon where it will stick to the cake. Hope that makes sense. Also make sure you're tapping off enough excess gelatin before putting them somewhere to dry.
Great tutorial. Love the letters on the side. Thank you x

Very comprehensive video. Thank you. Never used gelatine before but want to try. So you only dip twice yeah? Do you wait for the first coat to dry? xx

Great tutorial! How long will these gelatine bubbels last?

How long I can store it? And where? Thank you, the cake is wonderful!
How long can you store the gelatin bubbles? I have stored them for several weeks just at room temperature.
How long between layers ? Looking to make these for my daughter birthday cake
Hi! I like to wait until they are no longer wet/sticky. check them every 30 minutes. as you add more layers, it will become thicker and harder
Do these bubbles can stand in hot weather, outdoors?
I haven't tried it but I would image they would since they dry hard.
Hi, how did you get the balloons circular? Mine are more oval
Hi! I just blow the little ballooons up and then deflate and re blow them and kind of hold them up higher to not allow the balloon to become oval. So I’m basically pinching the balloon up higher in a circular shape and then tying it so it keeps that circular shape.
Great video, looks so yummy. Do you ever add flavours to the gelatine just in case someone is tempted to eat them? 😂
Thank you!! I haven't tried adding flavors yet. That might be a good idea! :)
Could you put oil spray on the balloons?
I'm not sure. What would be the purpose of adding an oil spray? Do you just want them shiny? If you do end up buying some edible petal dust, (you can get it on amazon) some of them have a pearl look to them which makes the balloons look a little shiny
Can you put food coloring in the water this avoids getting petal colors whatever that is
I think you can, but try only a little first.
Thanks for the helpful tutorial!! Those are sooo pretty! I’m actually making a similar cake now! Would jello work for this as well?
Hi! I haven't tried jello. I feel like it should work, but then again there could be other additives which could affect how it works. I just buy unflavored gelatin.
HW long we should keep it to set
I let mine set overnight (about 8 hours) But I made some a couple of weeks ago and I checked at 5 hours and they were good!

Where did you get the mini balloons from? Are they water balloons?
Hi yes! You can usually find them at Walmart or dollar tree. It's easier to find them in the summer so when you find them, stock up!

Do you have to use powdered food coloring? Would gel food coloring change its ability to set?
I haven't tried gel food coloring yet. I've always used the powder. Maybe if it's a super tiny amount of gel coloring like the tiniest bit on a toothpick it should still set.

Could I use flavored gelatin or add flavor to make them taste better?
I'm sure you could use a flavored gelatin, just make sure you check if the gelatin will become a color or stay clear :)
What if you don't have a microwave. How else can you melt the gelatin?

Really beautiful, just a note I've found that royal icing actually holds the balloons great especially on an angle.
awesome! Good to know :)
Hi,can I use agar agar? Thanks
Hi there. I have never tried it but I don't believe it would get as hard as these bubbles :(
Would spraying the balloon with a bit of oil help with the release or would it prevent the gelatin from hardening properly?
Right, I don't think the gelatin would set properly. The balloon isn't too hard to get out of it.
Don't they get soft and collapse as they absorb humidity from the cake?
No I have not experienced them getting soft. I think once you let them dry enough, they get nice and hard and they stayed that way even after attaching them to the cake.
do you need to oil the balloons? total failure when I tried to detach the balloon
Nope not at all. They get hard when you air dry them and once you pop the balloon, they will detach on their own.
Are theses gelatine balls edible?
yes :)
It will not melt even in hot weather county?
The bubbles? No. They stay hard once they're dry.
I can make 5 days in advance?
@@sugarrushbycai7154 Yes definitely :)
Did you use cold or warm water to mix with the gelatine?
Just room temperature water :)
How many coats did you do? It looked like 2 in the video…
I do 2 minimum, sometimes 3 coats.
Why are my bubbles mushy? What is the bubble supposes to feel like when its ready??
Supposed to feel very firm!! and if you pushed hard enough on them, they should crack. Leave them overnight. Make sure you dip them a few times. I think if it's only dipped 1-2 times that they won't firm up as hard

And I can’t turn the background music off.
That's fine if you don't like the music. It's really not that big of a deal if you actually want to learn.
The video is good but, I agree, the music sounds like laser tag, not a cooking technique
