I have fought this channel since the beginning. I changed the name of my channel from HerpersTV to The Reptile Channel before they started their channel. I tried to trademark the name but it was untrademarkable. I sent them a cease and desist order anyway, and of course it was ignored. I've contacted UA-cam and the university several times, and had no response. When I did my research on them I found that the hostess is a hired actress, and this is actually a sex fetish channel whose viewers find large animals eating erotic. Because they upload from Mexico, there's not a lot we can do other than continuing to petition UA-cam to do something about it. The university seems unwilling to get involved. Anyway, without getting anywhere in my fight, I changed the name of my channel to what it is now to remove myself from any confusion with this channel, and I still am continuing to fight to have this channel shut down. Thanks for making this video Kevin! It's time the entire reptile nation band together to stop this channel, and again, the only to do that now is to flood UA-cam with complaints and petitions to remove the channel by exposing Jonah Vore, and citing that the channel violates UA-cam's policies.

It's absurd that they are still around, but lets face it, UA-cam loves money, and as long as this channel is getting the views they are, it'll be an uphill battle to get them to do anything about it. I can’t believe it’s still up on UA-cam. Even LiveLeak has a text page/article talking about how animal abuse is godawful and leads to serial killers(typically, people abuse animals for either pleasure, torturing others, venting abuse, and other things, and that can make them turn around and do it to humans, as well), and that site hosts some pretty effed up stuff. (the reason i was on there was just out of curiosity, since i wanted to see if they went so far as to allow a bunch of bad stuff on there. they have guidelines!)

Snake Discovery is okay. She cohabits different species of turtle in small enclosures. Turtles need 10 gallons per every inch of their shell, making it really small and she defends herself saying it's fine when it's not. She also keeps a bunch of AFTs together when they're solitary and if they're for breeding they should only be kept together when it's breeding season.

There’s some shady stuff going on here, wouldn’t be surprised if this was some kind of monopolistic ploy.
It's probably because they hire amateur actors for their videos. We all need to start somewhere, so I'm not criticising these actors for the crime of trying to earn a living or anything, but it their level of skill definitely shows in their delivery.

I went after this Channel several years ago and compiled information and sent it to youtube and was discouraged by the tepid response. I thought they were just ignoring me but over time things have changed and much of the horrible content/videos went away. I remember when I was only just getting on the internet back years ago, I saw some of their (The Reptile Channel’s) videos. They scared me so much, I was having nightmares for ages about it. Not only was I really scared, but I was deeply saddened by it, and cried for hours after the video was done. (I can’t remember exactly what videos I saw, but I think one of them was the one with the baby chicks in this video)
I became deathly afraid of snakes after that, up until a school trip where there was a lovely carpet Python in an educational facility. I learnt a lot that day, and eventually went to the internet to find out a little more on what snakes can actually be, instead of these horrifying “man-eating” monsters that I had been led to believe.
Now I absolutely adore snakes, and have a deep respect for them.
Moral of the story; There’s always that one guy that’s gonna fuck over a whole community. Don’t listen to that guy. They’re full of shit-
If you wanna see gloriously wholesome snake content to further help quell the horrid snake trauma you got from that disgusting “reptile channel”, you should check out Snake Discovery. Just wonderful experts and educators who run their own zoo and breeding center geeking out about baby snakes hatching and yeah there’s the occasional one that doesn’t make it, or one that will need to be culled because of defects severe enough to guarantee it would have suffered its whole life (they don’t show that on screen, just if that situation comes up they let you know what will need to be done to stay humane to the animals), but other than the occasional sad bit that comes with nature from time to time and the reality of birth being difficult, seeing all the freshly hatched baby noodles is always just free seratonin. Emily always lets them come out of the eggies at their own pace, and just oogles over them and points out how precious and beautiful they are every step of the way, and always sees how many of them she can pick up before they all try to slither away like living spaghettis lol!!! I’ve been binge watching every morning for the past fee days. Its so lovely.

There's lots of information online about Guadalajara University. It appears to be an old and well respected school with lots of locations and programs of study. However I couldn't find even one mention of the specific division she references as doing one of the studies. It would appear that it doesn't even exist.

I commented on one of their videos and they told me it was "nature taking it's course". Obviously nothing about captivity is "natural", and it's a cop out. I get snakes & reptiles have to eat, but that channel is absolutely sadistic.
Edit: I'm not against herp keeping, hope it didn't come off that way, just meant that it's not "natural" for prey to be served, with no chance of escaping, while someone records it. They act like anyone who doesn't like their content are just being overly emotional.

Honestly, that was the first thing I thought about the channel when I saw it.. it really weirded me out, then I was like “nah, maybe I am just jumping to conclusions because spending too much time on the internet really fucked me up”. Now, I know my first impression was actually correct.
This is so upsetting.
And most of the time, like at 2:02, you can see a lot of mucus and saliva when the snakes open their mouth. That is a bad respiratory infection, they are suffering just as bad as the animals they feed to the snakes. They also say they are for education about these misunderstood animals, but then make fear mongering videos about "Omg where is my dog? Princess? Princess?! We are missing our dog!" making it out like the snake is the one that ate the dog. A lot of the videos you can also tell are set up, like the "Monitor finds rat nest" where they claim a friend called them over and they let their monitor lizard search for rats and then eat them. You can tell those are domestic rats, not wild, and the "nest" is made of store bought hay. They put them there. Also, to feed your snake wild caught animals is a very big mistake. You could cause them to have parasites or even get so ill they die.
I can almost guarantee that snake is no longer alive...

I had never seen these people before.
Although I always skipped over the extremely clickbait titles when I first got Noodle. I wanted to make sure he was treated the best I could do for him, and the extreme search for views and money never seemed like the way to go. I actually ended up messaging NERD for tips and future animals/pets. They were helpful, kind, and always ready to help out. I was never shoved into the reptile ownership position that I was a terrible person, that they were cruel. They were careful, cautious, exact, and caring. My baby wouldn't eat. They recommended a certain vet type I should look into, the F/T food that would be the right size, etc.
When I saw this.... I was appalled. The fact that they'd put their "loved pets" in danger, whether it be the predator or the prey in their scenarios....... It's infuriating. They claim to be educational, but the only thing they can claim to teach is what NOT to do. Normally, people like this get punished. Or at least, they used to. 2019.....The rules have changed drastically, I guess.

If they stole it [which has happened-- shitty people stealing pets from backyards to feed their snakes] then that's somebody's beloved pet they'll never see again. What I found instead was a similar video of a monitor eating baby rabbits live, on a channel that just so happens to be mentioned here. TastesLikeChicken. I couldn't bring myself to watch more than one baby being eaten (muted), but I did scroll down to the comments to see what people had to say. OVERWHELMING support. People were being verbally abusive to the kits, saying things like "Monitor is so sweet, giving the babies a warm home", and "I love the squeaks they make, and the sound of their bones snapping", and even "It brings me joy to know these rabbits are slowly suffocating in its stomach while being slowly digested alive". It's fucking sick. Some people said "Well, that's nature for you", but it's not nature. It's some guy's livingroom, being filmed with the intention of entertainment. It's not like someone went on a safari in Africa and happened to film a lion hunting a zebra. The lion has to work to overpower and kill and adult animal that is capable of breaking a jaw. The monitor gets newborns plopped in front of it, while the newborns have no chance of escape and are swallowed alive.

cat sans When I first saw their channel I watched a few videos, thought it was cute the way the female narrated the video. But then I started noticing things that I didn't think was okay, or seemed just off/weird. Couldn't put my finger on it but just seemed not genuine, the animals weren't getting the real care that is needed. Not any other reptile channel or people who owned snakes fed their snakes disgusting maggot filled animals, didn't let them roam around in dirt/gravel where there's nasty dead rodents lying around. Or putting a live raccoon in the pool knowing the snake is going to kill it, all for some views. Snakes eat live prey, but there's a humane way and a wrong way. Watching live animals suffer, dying a slow painful death, all for the views is the wrong way. IMO.
To see an animal eat a rotting flesh prey, other than being a scavenger animal like a vulture or hyena, probably means the animal was malnourished for a while and then just took what it could get.. horrible
Doc Pepps Yeah you’re probably right. Snakes can be picky eaters, not take to certain animals because it’s not what they would normally eat in the wild, not warm enough, or just plain picky and only like one or two types of prey. So to see a snake come up on a disgusting, stiff as a board, fly and maggot infested animal, it had to be really hungry.

I hope they get their animals taken away for cruelty.
