So at the end of the washing part, instead of conditioner, you can use a fabric softener soak. Fill a small container with warm water and a few tbs of fabric softener, then soak the plushie for 10min, and then rinse. This makes them even softer than conditioner from what I've discovered! 😉
I do this with my fave stuffies. After I let them dry, I go in with baby powder and comb it through my plush. It gives it a nice scent and softens it even more
I used this to clean my partners plushie I gave them when we first started dating as a surprise and it turned out so clean and fluffy and they absolutely loved it!!
This was a great video learnt a lot and you gave great information, and I have stuffed animals so thank you for all your cleaning tips. Thank you for this video
That doesn’t look like dryer fur to me, it looks more like a very matted plush. You did do a great job with it. I usually find the ones that have gone through dryer are more crunchy, almost like the fur got burnt. I know some plush can go in dryer but since some get burnt, I don’t risk putting any in the dryer.
Oh, I love it! I have a stuffed animal and it's so used that its about to get dryer fur, she has a heartbeat so I'll only do the first part since she cant be soaked in water... Btw, does it have a name? I name all of my stuffed animals 😅
Oh also, if you can’t wash it that’s fine. Just do the blowdrying step after you brush it out with the conditioner. It will still work! I just wanted to clean it that’s why 😉
I think it was just on the hot setting but i was using my hand to make sure not to burn the plush. If it doesn’t burn your hand it’s safe for the plushie!
Well, yes it’s definitely a concern! Especially if it’s a big plushie. But usually smaller ones like this will air dry in a day or two. If you live in a very humid place, definitely help to dry it with a hairdryer on the cool setting.

Those wire dog brushes work really well! It didn't ruin my teddy at all. I haven't even restuffed it yet and it looks great.

I didn't know that schampo can be use to wash stuffed animal. I gonna try it and se if I can wash away some color pencil mark on my stuffie 🧸🖌
My husband accidentally put 2 of my lion plushies in the dryer and they now how bad hair day… I’ll give your technique a try to save one of them

I name all of my stuffed animals 😅
She doesn’t! It’s because I’m not planning to keep her. I don’t wanna get too attached 😊

I'm ganna watch the video every day because for days I've been trying to detangle my stuffed animal and nothing works so imma try it in the morning
I hope it helps! 🙂
Thanks I almost lost my bond with my border collie Douglas that helps me with anxiety and panic attacks
This really helped me with my aflac stuffed animal because it was dry
i'm going to try this on my pillow pet :)
Just be careful with the blow dryer! Make sure not to get it too hot/close or it can burn.
Was going to try it. . And in the end of the process, hair dryer is needed
. . . Which is i dont have 😂
I did this hack with a old Huggy Wuggy doll I got 2yrs ago thank you 😊 ❤
I noticed when we dried ours that the dryer sheet left the fur feeling filmy. Would just brushing solve this or should we rewash and brush out?
I think rewashing would work well
I really need to know because my teddy done came out matted looking I wish I would of known I would of let him air dry .. geeze 🥴
I’m so sorry about your teddy! I hope this video helps. But unfortunately it will never be exactly as soft as before if it was in a hot dryer. 😔
This helped my unicorn so much thanks
For the drying part, what setting is on the hair dryer?
I think it was just on the hot setting but i was using my hand to make sure not to burn the plush. If it doesn’t burn your hand it’s safe for the plushie!
Can it work with hair serum ?
You can try? 😂 or soak in fabric softener+water
question, question! should i be worried about mold after washing? sorry if you already answered, i’m not finished with the video yet!

@Sadie & P. alright, thankyou!!💖
Wondering if this will work for my furry blankets too…? 🤔
It might 🧐
I can't find a dog brush
amazon
I have a question does it need to be a comb?
others have used a wire dog brush, I suppose your choice depends on how matted the fur is and how delicate you need to be on your plush.
It doesn’t have to be a comb. A wire dog brush will work better even!
I hope this works with my stuffed ALF from '86 i found him at a goodwill and he feels rough and is matted. Thanks for the info!
You can also try a fabric softener soak (and then rinse) instead of conditioner l found that it works well recently
Looks great!. Will the same process work for 80s vintage stuff toys?
I think so! Just be gentle when brushing and it should be alright 👍
Isn't he it too greasy after conditioner?
You can also do a fabric softener bath after washing. Works really well 👍
can you fix it normally by re washing it and air drying it
With this kind of severe damage, I don’t think so... but you can try!
@@SadieP thx for responding!
❤️❤️❤️ so cute 🤣 4-15-19
The problem with me is that blowdring caused it in the first place
Good luck for me, because my doll is BIG BIG
I line dried my stuffed animal, and it got dryer fur
I dont use dryer and they do it anyway. Its loubdry machines fault
Why not unstuff before a bath?
It’s such a small plushie that it dries very easily. For a big one I would reccomend that
Thats too much fur that came off. Im sure that bunny has bald spots now
Cute ❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭
Hii Love you 😍😍
คิดถึงนะค่ะ น่ารักค่ะ 😍😍
omg i just burnt my stuffed animal with the dryer 🥹😭

I burned my stuffed animal with my hair dryer
