It's our last day here in Pakistan and we wanted to end it off with a bang. So we headed out into the city to go and explore the walled city of Lahore, but with a goal. The goal is to find Lassi, a popular drink here in Pakistan. Lassi is also popular in India and is basically a milk drink.
We began the day at Delhi Gate, one of the 13 gates that in which you can enter the walled city of Lahore. The Delhi gate is famous as its the gate that faces Delhi India, hence the name and is where all the markets are within in the walled city.
During our walk through the city, we were struggling to find some lassi. so we continued our journey and ended up at the Lahore Fort. There is a food street next to the fort but we thought, lets explore a little first before heading into the food street.
Once we entered the forted, we were greeted with red bricked up walls that are in pristine condition. This fort was built by Akbar the Great and was built in the late 1500's, so this fort is 400 years old. Our plan was to see the palace inside which a guide told us about but we got distracted with Mughul dressed personalities that wanted to give us a show. They told Leanne to go stand next to them and this is where they began with there show. This is a must see so highly suggest watching this part of the Video.
After the performance, we noticed that people had surrounded us because we had a camera and were curious as to what we were doing. Then started the parade of taking photo's and selfies, everyone wanted a picture, hahaha, it actually became so much that we had to start walking away, hahaha.
We then met the golden boy of Lahore, a man painted in gold. he gave us yet another performance and once again, we were surrounded by people, hahaha.
After leaving the Lahore Fort, we headed to the mosque, Badshahi Mosque. This is probably the most impressive mosque we have seen, Also a part of the video you have to see, especially when we head to Havali to have a sunset dinner. WOW... WOW... WOW!
Finally we were now able to go to food street and guess what, we found Lassi... After a day of looking, we found out. This was going to be the first time we ever try lassi. As soon as we started asking so many questions about this drink, the lassi maker told Leanne to come stand in front of the Lassie pot and start to stir the lassi. She had no idea what she was doing but it made a for an entertaining show. There are two types of lassie, sweet and sour. We decided to order one of each so that we can try both.
I think our reaction to trying lassie says it all of which one is the best!

Nice stuff, glad you enjoyed the Lassi. No spices are being used in Lassi. It's just a mixture of Yougurt and Milk, beat it well and add sugar/salt to enhance the flavour to your taste.

Ground cardamom is good in mango lassi. I have a recipe, which I have never made, for lassi with yoghurt, a little sugar, salt, coriander leaf with a tarka of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, curry leaves, garlic ginger and green chilli. I think it's Indian rather than Pakistani.

The actual palace was adorned with semi precious stones which were removed by the British.Also in the palace is Sheesh Mahal ( mirror) room which is unique and beautiful in it's own way
We heard about the mirror room but we're not able to see it.
These men wear the clothes like Mughal guards at that time. And they were creating a dramatic scene how the King treated. Now comes to guard dialogues, Left guard to another "Initially they welcomed you and said what is the purpose to come here? What would be treated with her? Should we free or put in prison? Right guard said Leanne is our Royal guest and due to excursion we need to free her. Left guard said: The King ordered is to put her in prison. Right guard said: The order can be changed. Left one: How come? Right guard: The God has given you a lot of wealth. Left one: Do Hahahaha, a big laugh and said I became happy. These all dialogues related to King. Now King ordered the guard and left one said Ba-adab, Ba-mulahiza, Hoshiar (Be polite, respectful and be careful) The Royal guest, The Queen (Leanne) is coming now.

in india if youre drink is in steel cup or a glass cup, you have to return it after finishing
Lassi is basically a breakfast drink. It’s made with curd/yogurt and you can also add butter in it. We usually drink it after eating spicy foods(which we eat a-lot) just to cool off. Plus the reason you couldn’t find it is that it’s available usually on milk shops. Majority of Pakistani people don’t use packaged dairy items. That’s why we have milk shops which only sell milk, yogurt, butter, lassi and Desi ghee.
Can see how lassi would help with spicy drinks😜 we started having more of it afterwards😁

You guys did a great job of going Solo But some tourist guide would have helped you explain about Historical places,. For example, 300+ years old Badshahi Mosque was largest mosque in the world until late 20th century (now some newer mosques have been greater in size). Still 50,000 People can pray there. Glad you enjoyed the trip and old City

Lassi is a yogurt drink that is topped with clotted cream, is usually only sweet. The savoury variant is actually called chaas, which is practically buttermilk sliced with green chillies, coriander leaves, shallots and ginger. Great way to end an Indian meal.
Now that you tried Lassi in Pakistan, you must travel East into Indian Punjab at Amritsar near the Golden Temple. That is the OG variant!
You also get a great Mango Lassi, also I love the spicy Mango Lassi(same sweet Mango Lassi but with a hint of Green Chilli)

You shown Wazir Khan Mosque. Lot of historical but fateful events flashed into my mind.
Wazir Khan ( also known as Mirza Askari (1635-1710) was the Mughal Governor of Sirhind in the present state of Indian Punjab. He administered the territory of the Mughal Empire that laid between the Sutlej and Yamuna rivers. Wazir Khan was very notorious murderer.He was known for his conflicts with the Sikhs and became infamous for ordering the execution of two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh (10th and last Guru of Sikhs). In 1704 AD Wazir Khan arrested those 9 and 7 years old innocent kids and forced them to embrace Islam. Since, they refused to accept Islam, they were ordered to be BRICKED ALIVE. When brick walls reached to their shoulders,they got fained.Then on Wazir Khan ordered to behead them with knife. Two little souls attained Martyrdom on 26 December, 1704. Respectfully we call them Chhote Sahibzade.
Being Sikhs, we still possess those bricks preserved in Sirhind as a memorial.
Later,Wazir Khan was defeated in a battle with Sikhs at Chappar Chiri and beheaded by a warrior in Sikh army named Fateh Singh on 12 May,1710.
