that's what i wonder, the school theme made it kinda less putting into SRW game. especially newer mecha anime that haven't been included into SRW series aside G-witch was 86, DITF, the final Evangelion movie, SEED freedom movie, and ofc the new Code Geass spin-offs series. The tricky part of SRW is that how do you fit newer series to the narrative of the OG and some of the more popular entries like the Mazinger or original UC series. Ofc school theme/ friendship between girls weren't particularly new, you could put it on the OG code geass, the lagrange of rinne, or the recently returned Magic Knight Rayearth. But then, you have those people who looked or watched 86 and thought "IBO or 00 would be good pair to them". And the list goes on
