Help - Alex I really enjoy your videos, but the video is black screen unless I have selected playback quality option. I do not pick any of the playback options, I just need to keep it open in the bottom right corner of youtube screen. Very weird. Hoping you know why.
@@Alexstenko luckily only two of the videos. Enjoy your detailed and even handed approach to reporting country information . A huge value to folks contemplating a move or visit to foreign country
UNO doesn.t recognize sovereignty of UK over Islas Malvinas, on the contrary, for 60 years it has provided by resolutions (which UK doesn't abide by) both countries must enter into negotiations for said sovereignty, this is the current state regarding the Islands regarding their history: they were discovered by Magallanes expedition and the first occupants were Frenchs and called them Malouines (from Saint Malo: France, from Malouines comes Malvinas) but Spain made its sovereignty prevail, which was granted to it by the Vatican (at that time it was the arbitrator in colonial disputes), and Argentina, as heir to Spanish territory, in these latitudes, takes possession of them, and populates them with Argentines, from 1810, the UK doesn't make any claim on them regarding that occupation by Argentina, but in 1833 together with USA, the latter expels the Argentine population, UK occupy them weeks after said expulsion, from that moment Argentina claims them and the United Nations is issued in 1963, with the resolution expressed in the first paragraph.
The United States and the United Kingdom condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine but not its invasion of the Malvinas Islands and many other territories stolen from their original owners (Palestine, Gibraltar, Mauritius, and many others). A double standard according to their interests and with a falsely democratic image for the discourse.
@@pablov914 we musn't forget the "stellr" role of USA in the usurpation of Malvinas in 1833 (Yankees were who expelled Argentines so that Brits could occupy it weeks later) and Yankees were UK's partners in the Malvinas War in 1982, providing them with support.
Buenos Aires has a lot of parks concentrated in the richest areas of the city. In the rest, there are almost none. In fact, it has one of the lowest percentages of green space per inhabitant, well below what is recommended. On top of that, the corrupt City Government uses the few free spaces where parks could be built to do real estate deals for friends, contrary to what the vast majority of residents and neighbors want.
Thank you for detailed explanation Pablo. Well I understand that I’m just a foreigner who looks at everything wearing a pink glasses 👓 I know the city has its problems. Every city in the world has. At least it feels green and welcoming, because of its people 🙏
@@Alexstenko It is still a wonderful city, much more than others more famous and well-known big cities. I just wanted to clarify that it is not a green city as many people think when they focus on the most touristic areas.
Don't exagerate. There are parka and small squares almost everywhere. Not as Big as those in some áreas but there are. On top of that, BA has something that if You traveled a Lot like me for work reasons you'd notice: there are trees everywhere on the sidewalks. In most cities trees are concentrated in parks only, which is Nice too but You actually have to go there to see them.
@@juantorres-dj3fn I am not exaggerating at all. These are data, not opinion. Buenos Aires has, taking the most positive data, which considers spaces that are not really green, something like 6 m2 per inhabitant. The minimum recommended is 10. It is the minimum, not what there should actually be. As I say, the City is very pretty, even more so than other more popular ones, and it is true that the trees on the streets are something that others do not have, but it is also true that they are increasingly being destroyed, leaving squalid trees that will take decades to grow (if they survive that long). We must recognize and accept the deterioration of the City in order to defend precisely what makes it beautiful, otherwise one day it will have disappeared without us noticing.
@@pablov914 Let me explain to You why. Because it has pros and cons. I am an architect / urbanist. BA couldnt have this huuuge parks that You can SEE in other places because it privileged density over sprawling. For a city of almost 4 million people BA is quite small in territory..that gives You the advantage of a much shorter time to go to places inside it and even Walking You can get to many places and You can find all kinds of stores, restaurants, cafés, etc at abwalking distance. That doesn't happen in many cities, where people live trapped in their cars or public transport for Even 3 hours a day just going to work and coming back (living inside their cities). That creates the effect of not having enough space to create more Big parks but BA compensates that with those tree lined streets that You SEE almost everywhere and that our grandparents started. That is the Best way to compensate that because we are never gonna have land that is hundreds of hectáres Big to build new parks from zero. This is not Texas or Dubai with sprawling cities because of endless land to build on. Everything has its pros and cons. Which type of city I prefer? The compact-dense ones..but it is a matter of personal taste. In BA You don't need a car to live..in 90% of they cities of the world it is necessary. I know people in the city givernment and I know persinally that planting trees in the sidewalks and in parks is a priority (because it's Even politucaly beneficial) ¿Who doesn't like trees been planted on their sidewalks? So this year they Will plant 18.000 trees of different species (jacaranda, fresno, plátano y otras especies nativas). Sao Paulo has more trees because of the "mata atlántica" that exists where they city was built but You walk on their streets and You SEE much fewer trees than in BA, where you can see them where you actually live.
