How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a UA-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
That's dedication feeling sick as a dog and still making a video great video get better soon
Prayers for a fast recovery
In Europe we store a lot of round bales for bedding, stacked as a pyramid, under a heavy fleece.
It keeps the bales dry enough and any extra moisture can evaporate - so we have very little mould on the bedding.
Great video Ryan.Hope you feel better soon, get some rest!!!
Get Well Soon!!!
Ryan, I have worry that you will relapse pushing yourself to soon...you still look flushed and getting well should be the first priority !!! Missed the vid's over the last week but would miss you more if you land in the hospital...
Feel better, great video. Hot tea with alot of honey thru the day and 3 fingers of Crown Royal at night before bed. Thats what helped me as Drill Instructor in the Corps.

Another great video Ryan. Now it would be nice to see how one "slices" off a bale for use something I don't recall seeing before. Thanks again and don't forget to drink plenty of Ginger Ale and Chicken Soup, not together!!! (Mom's tried and true formula for a cold...)
great shots of the farm and wrapper...
Good wind breaks
That was fun to watch. "The dance of the wrapper." :)
It's nice to have the right stuff to do the job.a hole lot easier
I never wrapped any corn fodder but a lot of high moisture hay. I think you did it exactly right especially after the adjustments.
Wish you get well shortly, Ryan!
Hope you get feeling better soon. The wrap should help preserve the fodder quite a bit.
Hope you fell better. It'll be interesting to see the results of this experiment. Hope it works well.
get well soon and may god help your way get to get better, amen
Get well so Ryan keep ur video’s coming please
Nice one ! Hope your feeling better!
Nice video! I have to look back and see when you got your wrapper. Last I remember someone came and did it custom for you (I think I just confessed to not keeping up. gulp) I also wonder how it drives the ring. I have to look into that. Thanks Ryan!! BTW you sound a little better at the end of the video. Sometimes that catches up with a person by the end of the day....I hope you feel better soon!

Good system you had going there. You just need a swing out seat 😉 especially when your not feeling great. Stay safe sir 🏴

Hey Ryan I hope you get to feeling better cuz it looks like you're suffering there just a little bit wish you better
Get well soon bud
Tip for endcaps take old silage plastic instead of waiting for the real ones
Good afternoon Ryan, try strong coffee with about 20% whisky and 3 or 4 spoonfuls of honey. Might help. 👍
Pass on the coffee.
But a nip of Shine will help.
Great video Ryan from Bryer Floyd
That's a cool tool.
Will the fodder be used for bedding or feed for cattle. I remember my grandfather having a wooden frame chopper and they would chop the stalks of corn into small pieces. I'm pretty sure they feed it to the cows
Man you look and sound rough. Covid and the flu are running around. Get well!
Hey Ryan, Hey man i sorry you feeling bad praying Hannah and the rest of the family don't catch what ever it is.Hope that keeps the corn fodder fresh. Take care, Take it Easy we are praying for the whole Kuster family. TRUST JESUS !!!!!!!
I know your bales are dry, but keep in mind for the future. Don't wrap wet fodder bales, it'll turn them into silage and the cows will eat the hell out of them .
If you need supplemental feed it’s not a bad thing
@@nalley6815 your not wrong also they can have bedding and food a 2 in 1
@@wisconsinfarmers7810 I don’t have crops so therefore I don’t have stalk bales but I’ve tried to find some to buy for bedding and there’s NONE this year. Weirdest thing. There was a bunch last year. You being in Wisconsin I bet there’s a bunch
Never really seen any difference with the different colours of wrap, the biggest difference is in the quality of the wrap. When we used a cheaper brand we had no end of issue with some coming new with perforations when we were speaking with a contractor (custom guy) we went with his recommendation which is the make and product that is often sold here by the manufactures as their OEM branded wrap never had any issue with it like we had with the other it was consistent through out.
Did the stakes do any damage to the baler belts ?
would it be better to have a wrapper on the baler so the bales don't can be handled as little as possible??
What do you do with all that plastic when your done ? Also how much is it a roll ?
Good content. 👍🍂🍁🌽
You should eat some bread licorice it should help your float
I hate wrapping. Can that wrapper be set to do Christmas presents? 😁
If you are gifting round balls its perfect.
Ryan you could put up a video with Text and no talking and We'd be happy, Hope you feel better.
I concur get well .
Get to feeling better man
Hey Bryan, check out Upstate Brush Control. I watch his channel and he uses fecon heads
Sorry, meant Ryan
Dude looks like he was hurting and is still out there making videos for us.
After finishing watching the video he might have been a lil hung over. Heck he was still out there.
Saw 4 tractors in the aerial view?
Never mind I forgot about the 46
What is the moisture in those bales? I always end up with moldy bales, fall or spring baling, with the exception a few years ago had excellent bales that lasted well over year with no internal mold.
Good stuff
this is the start of flu season take care
I’m just coming out of the same thing you got. Drink lots of water.
I had something similar. It took about a month to get it sorted out.
Gargle regularly
