really wish they would do a new "Version 8" 1400mm scale flying tiger :( I like the speed but it's just a bit too small.. need to pick up the pace on the speed of the 1400 warbirds
Unfortunately my old field is closed down:( These 980mm planes are best suited for pavement due to the small wheel size. They will work from grass but the grass needs to be very low cut and packed down....
Watched this some time back but haven't always been great with the Likes or Comments, Rich! The contest is clever and some good motivation :) Another excellent, informative video, love the P40 and the speed you get with something in this size..super flying as usual!
Great review Rich! As usual! Looks like she's well behaved to be so small. Is your old field being renovated, closed for the winter, or closed as in for good? Thanks for all the info bud... Adam
Closed for good:( They are building houses there... what a waste... It was the best grass flying site in Florida! It has been immortalized in my videos!
Nice review as usual. I noticed you you recommended a lower elevator rate for flight. i get that. Its a fast plane. So are you saying that the lower rate for flying is not enough for take off and landings or is it ground control? Specifically what rates are you using?
+Green Rectangle RC At high speeds the controls are much more sensitive so you need less control surface travel when traveling fast, especially in the elevator. When operating a taildragger on grass, it is best to have a bit more elevator travel to help keep the tail on the ground during taxi. I use 100% elevator travel on the ground and about 70% travel in flight....

Great review as always Rich but i would of liked to seen how it handled your normal flying field with the grass strip, not as good i'm thinking so maybe not for us boys and girls who have grass strips, not unless we can get a bigger wheel in them wheel wells. I guess we have the option of hand launching and trying a wheels down landing though. :-)
Hi mate, i just bought one off these & a bit confused , does the battery sit on top of the esc or do i push it all the way up to the front. Thanks Jason
I have been flying the model for 6 months with no problems, there could be a problem with the plane or the setup. I fly it very slowly in the video and you can see no bad habits... there could be a warped wing or something like that... also, check your elevator and make sure it is fully plugged in together. If both halves of the elevator have play and are not moving together the plane may bank on you. Also, be sure your flaps are deflected equally and check for excessive aileron or rudder trim.
I would agree with rcinformer. I fly this plane A LOT. Almost daily, i fly it in thunder storm winds with no problems. Something is wrong with your plane because i fly it super slow and full throttle and it flies very well
I just purchased this one and the build was the best ever. The details are amazing.
Pete did a real good job.
Good flying too.
In Florida at the RCACF & IRKS FIELDS.

How does one go about setting the ESC Timing to High Rich?
There should be a programming Guide in the instruction manual.. if not do a Google search and it will probably show up
@@RCINFORMER its extremely Vague in the Manual and explains it very poorly IMO

Would you recommend this for a beginner and if not what plane can you suggest? Thanks
I would suggest the FMS RANGER 1800mm... ua-cam.com/video/g0U3ZkEzNW0/v-deo.html
@@RCINFORMER thanks!
Where do you fly?

This plane has a real tendency to drop a wing in a banked turn even at speed. I guess you just gotta be aware of it.
