The amount of consumption necessary for damage is important! For instance, I remember when saccharin was declared to be carcinogenic. It was removed from most food and drink items. What was not widely advertised is the fact that you would have to consume approximately 600 cans of soda with saccharine per day in order to have any harmful effects. Based on that, I'm sure that many of the items on this list would pose no problems for the vast majority of people.
The first genetically engineered food was the first food we ever cultivated. That's right - we have been genetically engineering food since the dawn of agriculture. There is not one food we consume - NOT. ONE. - that is the same as it was before humans came along. The difference between then and now is that the mutations are targeted by direct manipulation of a plant or animal's genetic code, instead of indirect targeting by exerting selective pressure and crossing the results until we get what we want (and sometimes things we don't want, like giant strawberries which look good, survive being shipped long distances, and taste bland AF). That's the advantage of direct modification - we just get what we want, without accidentally messing up other genes which happen to be close to the one we want to change. The fear of "genetic modification", as if that was something was new and unknown, is irrational. There's nothing inherently dangerous about modifying our food - we've been doing it for millennia.
Great video, BabbleTop. I actually kind of miss Fresca. Childhood memories of sitting in grandma's basement at a small table next to the extra refrigerator drinking Fresca with my sister. The steel-capped bottles with the inverse-hobnail dents had probably been in the refrigerator for "god" knows how long. The water pump for the house was in the corner of the same room which I was was terrified of for some reason. I guess it was because the electric motor on top had a ring of cooling holes around the pulleys and you could see wound copper wiring inside. It had dual V-belts to drive the pump on the bottom which made it look like a creepy robot. Enough storytelling! Have a great day viewers, commenters and BabbleTop. Take care and be safe out there!
Most people are not going to make their food from scratch, either from being too busy or not knowing how. That makes avoiding these ingredients really hard. Put in a tight spot, you're gonna suck it up and buy a frozen dinner instead of all the separate parts.
I say "plant-based" fake meat should be banned, along with all the soy additives that are so ubiquitous in not only that, but also countless other types of basic foods/drinks (soybean oil, soy lecithin, soy protein). Oh, btw, everything everywhere is chemicals. It just depends on which ones are involved & how much of each one is present. Also, read about math teacher/ football coach Elizabeth Sullivan & how she drank 3 Dr. Peppers a day for decades & still managed to live over a century.
Stop claiming that it should be banned because it has some sugar in it just because I have sugar and it doesn't mean it has to be bad so shut up just don't eat it everyday
Anything can be bad for you if over consumed. Even things like water can kill your if you drink too much of it. Moderation and educate yourself to what you are eating and splurge on occasion. Mmm drumsticks!
I wish I knew *EXACTLY* what the ingredients are in all of the foods I eat and what they do. But that would require so much research on *EVERY SINGLE INGREDIENT* listed. Some foods have more ingredients than letters in the alphabet. Then there's the "How much of this did they add to make that item" question.
Thanks for the good videos. It is absolutely disgusting what is allowed to be used in "food" products in the USA. No wonder there are so many health issues.
Fresca does not contain brominated vegetable oil. I have some in my refrigerator now and BVO is not listed as one of the ingredients. This is another video that is full of lies.

This list weirdly singled out specific items for having certain questionable ingredients that are widely used.

You regrettably haven’t read the memo yet that BubbleTap has the scientific literacy of a mushroom. 😉

I just drank some yesterday though
Barbara Walters wrote that when Lyndon Johnson asked her if she wanted a Fresca, she thought he was asking her to dance!
Fresca is still around
Fresca still on market. I always have some in the fridge!
Anybody else notice how much Fresca tastes like Squirt?
10 foods that should be banned includes Fresca smh. Fresca isn't food it's a drink.
food
/fuːd/
noun
any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth.
It also hasn’t contained the ingredient in question since 2014. Drink up!
This list. I draw the line at the Drumsticks ice cream lol.
Fr tho
Fresca is DIVINE, how dare you! And Drumsticks! This list is trash. 😒 If you don't like it, then simply don't eat/drink it.

Your acting like gorden ramsy.

The EU can do their thing This is America. We do our thing.
to our detriment, usually.
YIKES to allll of that! also if you're able to find more of these kinds of clips/foods, pt3 please
Don’t forget our processed candies too! Have you seen the ingredients list for M&M's or Skittles?
Stop claiming that it should be banned because it has some sugar in it just because I have sugar and it doesn't mean it has to be bad so shut up just don't eat it everyday
OH NO NOT THE DRUMSTICK ICE CREAM oh well most of these foods I stay away from anyways
Well, I thought I was a pretty healthy eater… I guess there is no such thing
Nope we make to much food and make it so expensive we can't sell it then we throw it in the dumpster. Our food distributions is childish at best.
Have A Wonderful Friday Babble Top 🌹❤️😎
Anything can be bad for you if over consumed. Even things like water can kill your if you drink too much of it. Moderation and educate yourself to what you are eating and splurge on occasion. Mmm drumsticks!
I love pillsbury crescent rolls (my opinon)
Me too...they are yummy!
Food is now banned
We normal people don't know what we eat.
And I’m completely ok with that. 😊
Listening to Europe has only ever given us slavery on an industrial scale and 2 apocalyptic wars.
"I think we're like, the banned?"

See what I did there? 👀
It’s great to know what is the things that what is add to the ingredients .

Am I the only person who got incredibly hungry while watching this?
Love my Fresca! It’s the only diet drink I can stand.
Anyone else find this voice totally annoying besides me? Her delivery really grates on the ears.
Sure it's bad for you just eat it like once a month and you're fine
That's right.👍🥰@Nicholas KS
I use Fresca for making my cocktails. And until now it has not been a dissapointment.
I love the videos, but the voice of the narrator is super cringing 😬
Squirt uses ester gum instead of the bromine if you like fresca
one of them mixed red 40 and yellow 5 i thught was other way around? :P
Thanks for the good videos. It is absolutely disgusting what is allowed to be used in "food" products in the USA. No wonder there are so many health issues.
I drink fresca, matter of fact i have one right here. No brominated veggie oil in my can?
They discontinued using it in 2014. Poor research by content creator. Drink up!
Again giving trans fats a bad name. Yes they are bad for you but it's naturally in a lot of foods.
Don't they use bromine tablets to keep hot tubs clean?
Never liked the bread here in the USA miss my German bread so much & soooo glad we finally got a Lidl out here they sell real German bread ❤️🔥
This is scary!
no such thing as a healthy soda. but do love a cold fresca on a hot day. and or dr pepper.
I totally do understand,😊some of my friends want it too.😋🥰@rich gleadall
Only thing nastier than Fresca is Tab…
Fresca does not contain brominated vegetable oil. I have some in my refrigerator now and BVO is not listed as one of the ingredients. This is another video that is full of lies.
