He sings in so many languages while being fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian, with English becoming a fast third with a little Mandarin thrown in. This was at a sold out concert in New York in 2019 right before the pandemic. He just released an original called Omir. He wrote it in appreciation of his fans and released it as a gift to the fans on his birthday. It is in native Kazakh but has English subs and it is insanely beautiful. He composes, he sings, he plays multiple instruments, he acts and he does any genre he wants pretty much. He range is 6 octaves so you haven't even touched the surface. Add to that he is so humble, respectful and appreciative of his fans and everyone around him making him very unique among todays artist.

I met Dimash about 3 years ago "by chance" on UA-cam..since then I have been "dear" as Dimash calls his fans..as a person (67 years old and I know there are others older than me) who has never liked or admired a certain singer and especially a singer with an unflattering life background I would listen here and there to a number of singers according to the inclination of my heart to a certain song..but in Dimash my whole world changed and for the better! I not only admire Dimash as a singer but mainly because of his wonderful personality! I had the privilege of participating in 2 of his concerts and I am still full of excitement from those unique and special concerts and as much as you can be impressed and excited by hearing and seeing on UA-cam there is nothing comparable to the personal experience of seeing him live! His captivating and moving voice penetrates every cell of your body and soul! Every song from it is unique and different..and every version of the same song conveys new emotions..and even the same song gives me chills as if it's the first time I'm listening to it.. Dimash is just that special, most of his concerts are like that. He was born for the stage and such a humble and brilliant man. You should start from when he was on the I Am Singer 2017 competition in China because that is where he blew up to fame. He was the dark horse in a competition with other professional Chinese artists. He opened the first episode with SOS which was the opening act and overnight he had to have security the next day….lol. Then you can see where he progressed from there. His other hits on the show are Opera 2, Daididau, The Show Must Go On, Adagio….to start your journey. He is from Kazakhstan, 6’3”, sings in 15 different languages, speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently and is learning Chinese and English. I can't believe you dived right in to All By Myself at his New York concert, that's so funny! 😂 He was being such a little devil throughout this concert (and I say little fondly as he's 6'3") Dimash started music school at the age of 5, went on to do a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is completing his PhD this year, all in between recording, composing, filming and touring. My personal favourite song was Ikanaide right up until his 29th birthday yesterday when he released the most stunningly beautiful song I have ever heard as a tribute to his Dears (what he named his fandom) called Omir which is the Kazakh word for Life.
People of such talent are not born every century. He is absolutely unique. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of operatic and high-pitched voices, but one can't help but admire Dimash. I recommend to watch the old, but everyone's favorite things in his performance: Diva dance, S.O.S, Adagio.

Now, if you would be so kind as to watch how he sang it on "The Singer 2017", I think you will be even more amazed. He was invited to that show as a "dark horse", and was only 22 yrs. of age and the other singers were 12-39 yrs. his senior. He was the first foreigner and the youngest in the show's history. It was always only a competition for professional & established Chinese singers before Dimash appeared. He did not speak any language except Kazak and Russian. His first four songs were in Mandarin, Russian, English, and Mandarin. After his first performance, they had to provide him with bodyguards, and the next day, he had over 6 million followers on Weibo, the Asian equivalent of Instagram. I watched the entire show since they had cc w/English translations, and doing so, allowed me to enjoy how his vocal skills just kept getting better and better. I've never seen him act so spontaneous and young. I'm used to seeing him focused and perfect in performance. He was freestyling, skipping, joking, this was refreshing and really fun.
My advice. Set up a playlist for Dimash. This is not the usual progression. His fame is I Am Singer 2017 - SOS. Another few famous ones are Stranger, Sinful Passion, Ogni Pietra. My favourites: Opera 2, Aday Daididau - Bastau. Unforgettable Day - Gakku. Qaragym Ai - mentor wrote this who died “recently” through Covid), Daybreak- story of child rescued in cable car accident in China, Samaltau - amazing Kazakh song. A few weeks ago I was in Antalya at one of his few solo concerts. I'm not usually a fan of live concerts, but to hear Dimash sing live I'm willing to travel by plane. It's a very special experience every time that I can't really put into words. What you have seen of Dimash so far is only a fraction of what he is capable of vocally. Let yourself be surprised! Dimash is known as the king of goosebumps 🤣 Dimash is from Kazakhstan and has beens studying music since he was 5 years old. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. Dimash became well known outside of Kazakhstan through his participation in a Chinese singing show/contest called "I Am a Singer" in 2017. It was a show for established singers and Dimash was a wild card and the youngest contestant ever on that show. All of these performances are available on You Tube and the ones on Gloria Wu's channel have English subtitles (others may have them also but I don't know which). I've only known about Dimash for about a year and a half and and hoping that his current concert tour will include somewhere near me so that I can go! Dimash's YT channel is a great place to find more of his music. Just try something that looks interesting. He sings in many genres and languages (He speaks Kazakh, Russian and quite a bit of English). Lots to enjoy! 🇨🇦

A rabbit hole it is. I fell in about 8 month ago and can't get out, i.e. don't ever wanna out. He's not only a really really good singer and great artist, but also a very lovely person. There are more than 100 videos on his channel and you can't go wrong. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan (yesterday was his birthday) and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. This was really interesting watching this live version to a vast auditorium sometime after he presented it on a small stage for the Chinese talent show some years back. Clearly, Dimash can pretty much do what he wants with his interpretation of the song now. Thrilling, then and now.

From Kazakhstan, pitch perfect st 3yrs old. Been on stage since then. Holds Master degree in Music and other degrees in various genres. Be plays at least 7 instruments sings in more than 16 languages now, and in all genres, composes, writes lyrics etc etc. Huge career in own country Kazakhstan, Russia Belarus etc. Won many many prestigious singing and instrumental competitions. Very humble, young man. Mum opera singer dad singer but also holds top positions in anything to do with music within in his country. Very musical family.
Was invited to " the singer" competition in China where all participants were estsblished proffessional singers. Dimash was the youngest competitor , no English or Chinese at that time n 1st time away from home. He came 2nd because no foreigner cud win. They changed the rules the following year. BUT the Chinese recognised his talent immediately as well as his very humble personality, and immediately after his 1st performance shared him with the world. So at age 22, he became known world wide. 29 this year 2023, holds concerts all over the world ( Often giving concert takings to charities) and has hugh "dears" base ( he calls his fans dears). His birthday is in May he has gifts from all around the world. This year he wanted to give them a gift this year. He wrote and composed the song called Omir, specially for them. You will be speechless every time he sings. You have not heard anything yet. SOS from the 2021 digital concert is a must. He sings in so many languages while being fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian, with English becoming a fast third with a little Mandarin thrown in. This was at a sold out concert in New York in 2019 right before the pandemic. He just released an original called Omir. He wrote it in appreciation of his fans and released it as a gift to the fans on his birthday. It is in native Kazakh but has English subs and it is insanely beautiful. He composes, he sings, he plays multiple instruments, he acts and he does any genre he wants pretty much. He range is 6 octaves so you haven't even touched the surface. Add to that he is so humble, respectful and appreciative of his fans and everyone around him making him very unique among todays artist.

I met Dimash about 3 years ago "by chance" on UA-cam..since then I have been "dear" as Dimash calls his fans..as a person (67 years old and I know there are others older than me) who has never liked or admired a certain singer and especially a singer with an unflattering life background I would listen here and there to a number of singers according to the inclination of my heart to a certain song..but in Dimash my whole world changed and for the better!
I not only admire Dimash as a singer but mainly because of his wonderful personality!
I had the privilege of participating in 2 of his concerts and I am still full of excitement from those unique and special concerts and as much as you can be impressed and excited by hearing and seeing on UA-cam there is nothing comparable to the personal experience of seeing him live!
His captivating and moving voice penetrates every cell of your body and soul!
Every song from it is unique and different..and every version of the same song conveys new emotions..and even the same song gives me chills as if it's the first time I'm listening to it..

I look forward to seeing more reactions from you. He is from Kazakhstan & has been known there for many years. He was invited in 2017 to be a wild card on a Chinese show for already known Chinese singers called I Am Singer. They expected him to last 1 or 2 weeks and on the first aired show Dimash was on first & he performed a French song called SOS and blew the audience away! Overnight his performance went viral & by morning he was told he would need security!! From there, he lasted the whole series, ended up staying in China for 3 years, appearing on many TV shows & live performances, made an album that went double platinum within minutes of it being released and became known worldwide. He has a massive fan base & his fans (he calls them Dears) travel from all over the world to his concerts. I recently saw my first 2 concerts in Armenia & Turkey & he is phenomenal!! Dimash is just that special, most of his concerts are like that. He was born for the stage and such a humble and brilliant man. You should start from when he was on the I Am Singer 2017 competition in China because that is where he blew up to fame. He was the dark horse in a competition with other professional Chinese artists. He opened the first episode with SOS which was the opening act and overnight he had to have security the next day….lol. Then you can see where he progressed from there. His other hits on the show are Opera 2, Daididau, The Show Must Go On, Adagio….to start your journey. He is from Kazakhstan, 6’3”, sings in 15 different languages, speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently and is learning Chinese and English. I can't believe you dived right in to All By Myself at his New York concert, that's so funny! 😂 He was being such a little devil throughout this concert (and I say little fondly as he's 6'3")
Dimash started music school at the age of 5, went on to do a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is completing his PhD this year, all in between recording, composing, filming and touring.
My personal favourite song was Ikanaide right up until his 29th birthday yesterday when he released the most stunningly beautiful song I have ever heard as a tribute to his Dears (what he named his fandom) called Omir which is the Kazakh word for Life.
People of such talent are not born every century. He is absolutely unique. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of operatic and high-pitched voices, but one can't help but admire Dimash. I recommend to watch the old, but everyone's favorite things in his performance: Diva dance, S.O.S, Adagio.

I love seeing first-time reactions to Dimash and you were no disappointment. Thank you so much for this selection of All By Myself. Now, if you would be so kind as to watch how he sang it on "The Singer 2017", I think you will be even more amazed. He was invited to that show as a "dark horse", and was only 22 yrs. of age and the other singers were 12-39 yrs. his senior. He was the first foreigner and the youngest in the show's history. It was always only a competition for professional & established Chinese singers before Dimash appeared. He did not speak any language except Kazak and Russian. His first four songs were in Mandarin, Russian, English, and Mandarin. After his first performance, they had to provide him with bodyguards, and the next day, he had over 6 million followers on Weibo, the Asian equivalent of Instagram. I watched the entire show since they had cc w/English translations, and doing so, allowed me to enjoy how his vocal skills just kept getting better and better. I've never seen him act so spontaneous and young. I'm used to seeing him focused and perfect in performance. He was freestyling, skipping, joking, this was refreshing and really fun.

Thank you for your reaction to Dimash. This man is the love of my ears! I have never been so absolutely in love with a voice as I am with his. A few weeks ago I was in Antalya at one of his few solo concerts. I'm not usually a fan of live concerts, but to hear Dimash sing live I'm willing to travel by plane. It's a very special experience every time that I can't really put into words.
What you have seen of Dimash so far is only a fraction of what he is capable of vocally. Let yourself be surprised! You will not regret it.

Dimash is known as the king of goosebumps 🤣 Dimash is from Kazakhstan and has beens studying music since he was 5 years old. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. Dimash became well known outside of Kazakhstan through his participation in a Chinese singing show/contest called "I Am a Singer" in 2017. It was a show for established singers and Dimash was a wild card and the youngest contestant ever on that show. All of these performances are available on You Tube and the ones on Gloria Wu's channel have English subtitles (others may have them also but I don't know which). I've only known about Dimash for about a year and a half and and hoping that his current concert tour will include somewhere near me so that I can go! Dimash's YT channel is a great place to find more of his music. Just try something that looks interesting. He sings in many genres and languages (He speaks Kazakh, Russian and quite a bit of English). Lots to enjoy! 🇨🇦

A rabbit hole it is. I fell in about 8 month ago and can't get out, i.e. don't ever wanna out. He's not only a really really good singer and great artist, but also a very lovely person.

My recommendation is that you start where it all started...the I Am The Singer competition in China in 2017. His first appearance on the live singing competition brought him instant fame. The TV show had to hire bodyguards for Dimash because of the batshit crazy fans stalking him. I would follow the show in order. His very first song is S.O.S. and the contestants backstage are watching...their faces are priceless. So funny to see their expressions as he sings. I love that part of the show. He performed this song on his concert in New York, Barclays Center in 2019. I don’t know how much you know about him.
Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan (yesterday was his birthday) and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.

Here you can hear a large part of fhis vocal range, as well as an incredibly awesome Kazakh instrument. The Kobys. The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

This was really interesting watching this live version to a vast auditorium sometime after he presented it on a small stage for the Chinese talent show some years back. Clearly, Dimash can pretty much do what he wants with his interpretation of the song now. Thrilling, then and now.
