Following on from last week , my second location shouldn't come as a surprise to those who know the area , Marine Lake just a hop,skip & a jump along the road from Leasowe. I had in mind an image that I've seen done a few times before , imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right ?
There are certain locations where it's really difficult to put your own stamp them & this is one such place , the subject matter has a few compositions but the biggest difference is , as always, the conditions on the day.
Shooting in the midday sun is not my preferred option but sometimes it has to be done , harsh light & little in the way of cloud cover made high key mono pretty much the only choice available to me. Which was Good. It fits with my Project perfectly.
Am I happy with the images ? Hmmm, I'm not unhappy but there is definite room for improvement , the biggest one of which is conditions , I shall be scouring the tide forecasts for the next day when a really high tide co-incides with sunrise or sunset .
Lets treat this as a scouting mission , getting a feel for the location, how the tide acts over the walkway & figuring out what settings I need for when I get the conditions I want .

Loved the high key images Lynne, it's a style I've yet to progress to in my mono adventures as I'm in the dark and moody stage at the moment as you've seen recently. We have had a reprieve a 10 days early, so can at least travel across Scotland which means I can get to some new coastlines and back to the city for some more cityscape. Roll on the middle of May for cross border excursions again. Hopefully you had a good overnighter at the weekend with the easing of your restrictions

Fantastic pics as usual Lynn, get an app called TIDES NEAR ME, it free. It gives the tides and also sunrise and sunset, it's very accurate. I use it for fishing and photography. The next spring tide here is the 27th of April. Just put in your location and your good to go. 👍
Thanks Patrick ,I shall take a look at that app, I use Wileyweather app when I'm 5 days away from the trip & tides4fishing when planning a trip as that goes 3onths ahead....but you can never have too many apps 👍👍

Nicely ignoring passers by there Lynne - sign of a true pro! Love that last cyclist shot. I wonder would it help its minimality (what a word!) if you cloned the fragments of walkway out also? Its then a head scratcher image!

Don’t know what happened but I nearly missed this one ? So glad I didn’t as I am beginning to see minimal images whenever I go out ( yep I’m blaming you for that lol). Great content as always and I did quite love the “bike” shot. It’s always difficult when the Reds are as vivid as that to choose mono or colour, personally I’d go with the colour so if you ever show your images in a gallery you have the option to insert a colour image in every now and again. (It’s hard to explain but I can see it in my head if you know what I mean lol)

Hi, enjoying the Wirral videos as it’s local for me and learning too which is a bonus. With reference to the tides you will find that the high spring tides will always fall in the hours around noon at this location so you’ll struggle to get that shot you’re after. At West Kirby the water will only breach the walkway on a spring tide.

Hi As Peter Tarpey has mentioned it's only Spring tides that breach the lake wall. Anything higher than 9m will spill over But Springs only occur in the middle of the day/night . Also you may wish to choose a less calm day?
If you want sun rise or sunset then the Jetty at both the North and South end of the lake provide for this.
